The only reason I am not giving 5 star is delayed loans. The majority is related to Russian and Ucranian markets though. The app is constantly updated and there is a large selection of bonds to Invest... See more

Mintos Review: A Realistic Look at P2P Lending
I've been with Mintos since 2018. After the initial excitement, I faced the reality of challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, which led to significant payment defaults. The ventures in Africa also weren't particularly profitable.
While each investor is responsible for selecting their own loans, I can only assess Mintos on its recovery efforts and its ratings for loans and loan originators. I must say that over the past year and a half, the recovery process has been running quite well, though you should expect it to take several years before your money is back to work. For the African defaults, I assume that a significant portion, maybe even the majority, won't be recovered.
This has been a learning process for me, and I've learned from my mistakes. We'll have to see if this holds up during the next crisis.
I would give Mintos a rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars, as every investor must be aware that P2P lending is a high-risk business.

Deposit (larger sum) money to Mintos platform is very difficult. They are asking too many documents. I understand AML-regulations, but other platforms in EU has common sense on this matter.

I've been using Mintos since 2013 and am very happy with its historic performance.

Well designed platform, easy to use and to start investing even with small amounts. Ideal if you like to accumulate and compound.
MINTOS offers a variety of different investments which you may wish to mix and further differentiate your portfolio.
I was just assigned to a new personal assistant (Ms. Evita) who´s super-professional and very dedicated. She loves her job.

After losing money with 2 peer lending platforms, I found one that is legit. I was never let down by Mintos.

Absolutely unacceptable. Mintos claims account verification takes around 5 business days — mine took 17 days with no response or updates whatsoever. I sent multiple emails, and they were completely ignored. If they’re this unresponsive during account creation, imagine what happens when actual money is involved. The fact that they don’t even read or reply to messages is extremely worrying. Steer clear.
Edit July 24 2025
They really don't like getting bad reviews and will invent reasons for you not to have an account, you know, just because. I dodged a bullet and they are safer, well regulated investments than what looks to be something run out of a shed in the baltics

The client support is very quick and effective.
Plus, they had the courtesy of addressing me in my own language, which is a nice and very useful to some users.
The plattform works fine, plenty of info about the products and easy to navigate.
I'm new at this but after a week using it I am very positively impressed.

After more than 3 years of experience with various P2P platforms (which I won’t name to avoid promoting them), I can confidently say that Mintos is by far the worst-performing one.
Here are the major issues:
• Extremely low interest rates compared to other platforms.
• Unreasonably high withholding tax – in my country, the actual tax due is significantly lower than what Mintos withholds. This alone reduces your real returns dramatically. Right now, I’m getting about 5% annual return, which is unacceptable for this type of risk.
• Returns are only on paper – I’m unable to withdraw the profits because they are locked in defaulted loans. For example, a large part of my portfolio is stuck with Inclusion, a loan originator that Mintos says will take “up to 3 years” to recover (with only a 75% recovery chance).
• I also have around 100 loans that have been unsellable for over 3 months. The platform’s secondary market is practically frozen, meaning your money is trapped with no option to exit.
• The withdrawal process is slow and inefficient, and it often feels like they’re doing everything they can to delay access to your funds.
• Worst of all, Mintos keeps making money off our investments while passing all the risk onto us – the investors. Other platforms offer significantly better returns, more transparency, and faster, more reliable liquidity.
Mintos has shown no respect or responsibility toward its users. I absolutely do not recommend this platform. If you’re considering investing here – don’t. Save yourself the frustration and financial loss.
Follow-up to Mintos’ reply: When a lot of words say nothing.
Thank you, Mintos, for your very long and very polished response — the kind that looks like it came out of a GPT-powered corporate playbook titled “How to Apologize Without Doing Anything.”
Let me break it down for future investors reading this:
🔸 “Returns vary.”
Ah yes, the classic excuse. But when you advertise “average returns of 9-10%” and then your own automated system (which I used exclusively) leads to a realized return of about 5% — before taxes — that’s called misleading, not market variation. And by the way, after taxes, I’m probably making less than a savings account.
🔸 “You can reclaim the tax.”
Sure, if I feel like wrestling with tax authorities in two countries. Convenient that you keep the excess and I have to do the paperwork.
🔸 “Defaults happen.”
Right. But maybe don’t proudly promote your “Auto-Invest Diversified Strategy” and then conveniently forget to mention that it can scatter 30 EUR across 100+ tiny loans, many of which can’t even be sold on your “secondary market.” I have loans of €0.40 that no one wants. Shocked, I tell you.
🔸 “You can always use discounts to sell your loans.”
That’s like saying, “You can always sell your house for half the price if you’re in a hurry.” Brilliant.
🔸 “Withdrawals take 1–3 days (unless they don’t).”
Thanks for that insight. Very reassuring.
🔸 “Mintos doesn’t take on credit risk.”
Translation: We make money no matter what happens to you. Investors take the risk, Mintos takes the fee. I think I saw that model before — somewhere in the 2008 financial crisis?
And here’s the kicker:
While your money is stuck in loans that no one wants and that may or may not be recovered in 3 years, Mintos still gets paid.
Meanwhile, on other platforms — which I won’t name (because this isn’t a promo) — I’ve withdrawn thousands of euros within days. Same loan types, same risk class, but faster, more transparent, and with an actual respect for the investor.
⸻
✅ Bottom line: Mintos is a great platform — if you’re Mintos.
If you’re an investor? Not so much.
You might get returns. You might get your money. Or you might just get an email saying, “Thank you for your feedback.”
Invest accordingly.

I has some trouble with how long term investments were handled. Certain options couldn't be adjusted once active and I didn't find a way out. I reached out for help and while they mentioned updates, nothing changed on my end. It's a good reminder to fully understand the platform before you begin. It's only been a few months Novus Limes but the way things are moving, I know I made the right call.

The withdrawal process is a complete disaster. They might talk a lot about ways to grow your profits, but what’s the point if you can’t access them?
Getting your money out feels like an endless waiting game frustrating, slow, and filled with excuses. No matter how good the returns look on paper, it’s not worth the hassle. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone.
Fortunately, I was introduced to the right people and was able to claim my lost after following the proper steps, which eventually led to legal action.

Have been using the platform for 3 months until I deposited a bigger amount. I provided my bank statement with salary but unfortunately in my statement I had a big deposit via ATM with money I have been saving in cash for few years. I tried to prove this by giving statement with ATM withdrawals but no luck. I am not laundring money but it seems sometimes you can have a bad luck with circumstances. I do not blame mintos for this but it is sad how policies can prevent an ordinary user from making a deposit and use the platform.
