No after-sales support under the EU legal guarantee.
I bought an Avalon Q (sold as "Avalon Q home Bitcoin ASIC miner") from Mineshop as a private individual in June 2025. Ordering and delivery were smooth with some delay. After about 14 months the unit stopped hashing completely (hashboard error, 0 TH/s). It was never opened or modified and only ran official firmware. I asked Mineshop to handle it under the EU 2-year legal guarantee for consumers. They refused, stating that mining hardware is "built exclusively for investment and commercial purposes" so consumer rights do not apply, and that the manufacturer's warranty had expired. NO CONSUMER PROTECTION !! In my view, this does not reflect EU consumer law: the seller's legal guarantee is separate from the manufacturer's warranty, and consumer status depends on the buyer, not the product. This is especially surprising for a product marketed as a home miner. If you are a home buyer, be aware that you may not get support from this seller if your unit fails after the manufacturer's warranty ends.

miner started hashing but 3 of the temperature sensors were already NOT reading properly after setup...seriously??? its a new machine and i shouldnt be troubleshooting sensors on day one. hashrate works but this still doesnt give me much confidence. disappointing for a brand new miner!!!!

Not even 5 minutes after opening the package and I was already disappointed 😑 some screws were missing and the miner didnt look like something that should have passed a proper check before shipping. For hardware that costs this much i shouldnt be opening a brand new box and immediately looking for missing parts!!!! I wanted to plug it in and start mining not inspect the machine and figure out what needs fixing first. very poor impression

Delivery is horrible
Delivery is horrible. FedEx sent me the notification of delivery with a link. I changed the delivery date as I will not be available on that date with the given link. FedEx confirmed the new date, then sent the package on the old date anyway. This is not the first time FedEx has done this.

Hi,
We’re sorry to hear about the frustrating delivery experience. We completely understand how inconvenient it is to reschedule a delivery through FedEx, receive confirmation of the new date, and then have the package delivered on the original date anyway.
While the delivery scheduling is handled directly by FedEx, we take your feedback seriously and will raise this issue with our shipping partner. We want the delivery experience to be as reliable as the ordering process itself.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we apologize for the inconvenience caused.

opened my package and immediately noticed they sent me a DIFFERENT version than what I selected....seriously???if something is unavailable then just tell the customer first, dont decide for them and ship something else!!!!! maybe its a small detail for some people but I ordered that specific option for a reason. really annoying experience and honestly made the whole purchase feel careless
