M1A walnut stock fitment
Ordered a walnut stock for a Springfield M1A. It arrived promptly and in good condition; good quality wood and decent finish.
The only issue was, it did not fit the barrel and receiver assembly. A 1/64 inch gap at mid hand guard grew to 1/8 inch at the receiver.
After some trouble shooting, I determined the metal stock liner was off just enough to keep the receiver from seating. After loosening the screws holding the liner in place, I was able to get the receiver seated with a rubber mallet and some patient tapping.
I would have expected that QC would drop a barrel assembly in to insure fit before putting it in stock for sale.
Overall pleased with the purchase though.
