mar22, It is true that we have let slip an occasional deadline in our Micro Drone 4.0 crowdfunding campaign but in the span of 12 months the 20 updates (as of today) that we have published means our average is closer to 2 reports a month than to 1. What this means is that we have kept our backers updated about developments with respect to our campaign. This is perhaps not the level of frequency that some backers would prefer but nevertheless we've kept backers in the loop. We've been also extremely responsive in the campaign comments area essentially responding to backers' questions on a daily basis during this time which has also allowed us to better inform backers. We apologise for the somewhat lengthy amount of time our campaign is taking to produce backers' perks but we will deliver.

I see many reviews reported by MicroDrone for breach of TrustPilot guidelines ... TrustPilot should probably censor MicroDrone's comments

? delusional millenials adulting poorly

1 year over due, down graded specs form original advertisement, 4th time on crowd funding because they have no cash flow and no potential for a real investor. The video quality from their most recent, and completely redesigned drone (which they did at the expense of crowdfunding after they reached their goal) is akin to a web camera from 1995. They designed a new gimbal using brushed motors, not sure why they thought that was needed, but it's appallingly jittery and simply doesn't work. This company seem to have confused GCSE design class for actually being a real company.

Big big managent issues.

And the worst of it is they (as in at the start of each campaign) continually release promotional videos which are far more professional and promising than they are as a company or what they could ever deliver. At best they are delusional immature millennials at worst they are out right liars. I prefer to be assume they are the former and give them the benefit of the doubt, but stay well clear.

“Extreme Fliers Ltd” have misled backers

Appallingly led campaign that was initially promoted as production ready and that was a year ago!
Today still no drone, instead the promised drone no longer exists, instead now we have a controller that was promoted as being able to extend the flight range now doesn’t!
The drone is larger, the camera specification has been reduced from 12mp to 5mp and the campaign owner denies this. The weight is up and the flight time is reduced, now “up to 10 mins” I quote.
I have requested, as a backer who provided funds, to see the prototype model compared with the current and this has been ignored on numerous occasions!
The requests for updates and details of camera and chipsets have been refused stating that is sensitive information.
Comments from rightly concerned backers have been removed as apparently the campaign owner stated that repeated comments asking the same thing will be treated as spam! Yet the campaign owner answers many posts with just “trust in the process” ..... there is no process and definitely no progress!
The campaign owner has now taken steps to block backers from commenting entirely... this is against Indiegogo standards.
This campaign is a scam and the product promoted clearly did not exist and was not production ready as stated.
A lot of money has been taken and misused in a bait and switch campaign that a year later still has very little progress.
The campaign owner has refused to refund any backer requesting this and given standardised cut and paste answers saying that they aim to deliver on their goals.
I would suggest that this company is avoided at all costs as you will lose your money and not get the product you backed.
If I could give zero stars I would.

For the record I am not a troll, I am someone who paid my own money to back this project on the grounds of what was promoted at time of launch... this review is on the behaviour, poor communication and change to everything that was promised.... please avoid at all costs!

Update, in reply to your comment, EF has promoted a product that was listed as production ready and used a campaign launch video that cannot now be replicated somehow..... the production ready drone that was to be delivered in the Summer of 2019 has now increased in size, battery life and therefore flight times reduced, and a 12mp as advertised despite denials camera now reduced to 5mp.... this unit is listed as in production, it currently is not, it is in testing mode to make adjustments... many requests for information are often ignored or deleted by this campaign owner who has reported this as unfortunately he will not listen to his backers. The reporting option, in this case has been misused in order to only try and benefit the campaign and its owner, and conceal the truth.
31st March 2020,
I have formally been requested via Trustpilot by EF to remove the word “Liars”... I have done this but have to point out that I am being forced to remove honest wording in a poor attempt to disguise the truth, this is unacceptable!

I have now been asked by Trustpilot to remove the word Fliers at is seen as defamation... I am confused as this is this company’s actual name!

Failed to live up to promised results

So far this company has failed to fully produce what it promised with the micro drone 3. Now, with the micro drone 4 ready to start rolling out they have over promised and under delivered once again. Video quality on bar with 2005 era camcorders and that's underselling what camcorders could do 15 years ago.

Poor communications, misrepresentations, and out right false statements so far. I do not recommend this company at all.

Greetings Quietas, It is true that of late there has been some level of disappointment at the quality of video shared in our recent Indiegogo updates but we have not shipped yet and we are currently working to address the concerns of our backers on this point. We recognise that there is a fair amount of frustration from the backers of our Micro Drone 4.0 crowdfunding campaign stemming primarily from the unexpected delays we've encountered in producing and shipping backers' perks. We are happy to report that all major work leading to production has been completed and that accordingly we will be delivering all backers' perks . We have apologised for this delay and we do so here as well.

Very misleading campaigns

Nearly a year since ordering the drone (which by that time was announced as "production ready"). They had some updates and most of them again and again told us that they are now in production (which in their terms means "in development). They did promise bi weekly updates but didn't send out any news for over a month. The specs have been downgraded (12mp to 5mp camera as an example) but they first denief it and wrote that it never was planned any different. When we've linked to Screenshots of the original specs they theb told us it is due to the superior quality. But looking at the footage their sre so mamy things wrong (color, contrast, sharpness, jello and stability) that even a DJI Tello delivers better image quality.

Greetings R6, it is true that to best meet the specs as outlined in our crowdfunding campaign and to ensure good durability, reliability, and full functionality and in consultation with our production partners in Asia we had to make adjustments to some of the design elements and these adjustments have caused delays. This process is part of what crowdfunding involves. There can be at times necessary delays to avoid production and product issues. We have explained these delays in 20 (currently) updates keeping our backers informed about the progress of the campaign. We have apologised for these delays but do know that we will complete our campaign and ship all backed perks to our backers. Even as this is written we are in the final stage of verifying our final production model with a limited run and making final adjustments just before we go into full production and shipping mode. We are confident that the majority of backers will be happy with their perks. Thank you.

Joke

Joke. Don’t partake in their crowd funding schemes. They advertise as ready for production but then practically re-create the product from the ground up, cutting the main specs and not giving updates of substance. Utter joke!

Greetings Bob Burns, we've made 20 updates since the Micro Drone 4.0 campaign started and each time we've kept backers in the loop about developments. We recognise that given the challenges that the Micro Drone 4.0 campaign has faced including the delays this has generated frustration on the part of certain backers and for that we apologise. Our campaign is not completed yet but we will be delivering Micro Drone 4.0 and related perks to all of those folks who've backed it.

Founder is liar

The founder is a liar. Most specs of MD4 will not be implemented. The Promo video is SCAM.
You wrote, "reviewer doesn't have the product". Sure I do not have a drone, because you did not ship it, while you promised to send it when? In August or July of 2019? Now you promise to send it when? In February of 2020. Slight delay. As you can see - another one confirmation, that founder is a liar!
As you can see another example is the new answer, which now does not contain the sentence about "reviewer doesn't have the product".
Let's proceed.
"here have been a number of improvements we made" - is this reduction of flight time from 20 to 10 min? Or camera from 12MP to 5MP? Or poorly stabilized video in the only !!one!! few sec examples of the footage from the drone "in production"?
Let's proceed.
1st of April. Where is my drone (it is in production as you wrote on Jan 3)?

Hi Volodymyr, that's not true, the Drone is now in production, as in all crowdfunding projects some specs change and there have been a number of improvements we made that were talked about in previous updates. I apologise for the timeline overrun, it's was not expected and we are making good progress.

Micro Drone is a horrid company they over promise and can’t deliver. Do not invest any money with this company. The founder Vernon is a paranoid CEO who treats his backers (vocal) horribly and calls them trolls and accuses them of working for competition. Find out more from other backers on FB search for the group “microdrone 4 dissapointment”

Update: from extreme fliers response. You are correct, no I don’t have the product, why Vernon why don’t I have it or other backers? Because you flat out lied. You told us you were ready for production, yet you only recently started production. We were originally supposed to get the drones in July 2019 it’s now 2020 and you can’t commit to a time when you will actually ship. You waited until the refund window closed and then you decided to change the specs. Yet backers begged for a refund when it was obvious that we were not going to get what we signed up for.

In the words of my banker when I asked for a charge back: “I’m sorry but it looks like you were scammed.” Yes, yes I was. Shame Vernon I believed in you and gave you my money thinking you were honest.

The drone I purchased was excellent until the second day I had it and it wouldn't turn on I still have no Idea how this happened specifically as these drones are very expensive I contacted customer support and because I had no access to the email or details I used to purchase I couldn't get a return/refund or replacement. My son was very upset.

I purchased the 2.0+ from a drone show in Birmingham a good few years ago 1 motor stopped working a few weeks after purchase so I purchased the correct motor replacement still didnt work so it was obvious to me it was the flight controller or PCB and never thought it was worth the money to replace it so it sat in a cupboard to this day. I tried with customer support to no avail due to me having no proof of purchase unfortunate I wont be supporting extreme fliers no more for this.

Huge Fun, and very economical

The learning curve to becoming an adept drone flyer is quite steep but this is surely an economic way of doing it and their videos are full of helpful advice and once you start to get it these little beauties are huge fun. Whenever I've run into a technical problem they have proven to be hugely helpful. I've already got myself on the list for their version 4.0 which looks like it will cope with any stupidity I can throw at it!

Surprisingly fun

Initially, The drone developed a fault. The customer service I received was great and a replacement drone was sent to me within two days.
I am an experienced flyer and purchased this for friends and family to use as I'm always getting asked: "can I have a go" I fly race drones and commercial drones and don't like the idea of my drones getting destroyed!

I actually love flying this little drone myself! It takes a little getting used to!
first flights go somewhere with open space and gentle wind and it soon becomes fun then hit the stunt mode :)

Great company to deal with

I had an issue with the PCB on my daughters drone which upon contacting the company they immediately posted a new one out to which I received within 48 hours of contact - free of charge, without any quibbles. Lidia in their customer services was particularly helpful and efficient! Great company to deal with, recommended!
