I was ripped off by their loan…

I was ripped off by their loan department. They created fraudulent paperwork after the fact to take a large sum of my money. They operate in the "gray area" of banking. They are very good at walking the line between what is fraud and not fraud. Don't fall for their loan-sharc scams or trust your money to this bank.

Metro bank is doing great job

Metro bank is doing great job. I would really like to appreciate Krishna who has such a great customer service skills.He helped me to change my home address on phone. He was very polite and helpful.

Incompetence

Everybody is very nice at metro bank but this hides a level of inefficiency. Spent hours trying to resolve a double payment on my credit card. I just get letters asking for more info. My other gripe is the App. It's full of issues that should have been resolved before it went live. This bank is on a downward slope. Time to remove any serious deposits.

A truly appalling bank

They locked my account without warning and without telling me. I phoned and after 20 minutes gave up because they couldn't sort it out. Of course they don't have secure messaging like other banks, so there's no option but to wait in their long queues.

I then wrote to the CEO asking for them to close my account. No reply.

Eventually I had to get the Ombudsman to sort it out. It turned out they had locked my account because of "suspicious activity" which turned out to be my sending money to another UK bank in my name. Unbelievable.

Delighted with what's currently happening to this bank. Richly deserved.

Overfamiliar staff

Wimbledon branch 27/09 10.15am staff are overfamiliar calling you mate and friend the manager said some people like it he then conceded it wasn’t very professional.I closed my account and went back to RBS.

I attended Uxbridge branch this morning…

I attended Uxbridge branch this morning without an appointment and was seen by Hamira. This young lady went over and beyond to make my experience very easy. She was friendly, extremely efficient and totally removed the stress I was experiencing at the time. I can’t thank her enough. All of the staff seemed nice and very approachable. I’m looking forward to banking there and receiving their personal service. Well done Uxbridge Metro Bank. A five star service. Thank you.

Merryhill branch

I went into the merryhill branch to open an account as the website had a problem. I was seen immediately and had an account, debit card & internet banking within half an hour. Very friendly & excellent service

I tied to withdraw £200 from an ATM at…

I tried to withdraw £200 from an ATM at morrisons but the atm retracted the money ira been now 2 weeks and still Metrobank haven't refunded my money they ylld me lady week in branch that they are waiting for the data from the ATM machine. Now my friend who is in the banking industry told me that thos retraction mechanism is automatic for security reasons and the money retracted is kept in a " recycle tray" together with the time date abd cardholders details which when checked the money is then automatically credited back to the cardholders account . So either Metro bank are not doing their job ad required by banking laws in investigating this or they simply don't care about customers thru Nedd investigating by the financial authorities and forced to comply with banking laws or be shut down

Banking rules, and respect for customers…

I had visited the bank to find payments made a while ago. There was no one there one cashier one customer. One person approached me to ask what is the issue. I said I have the papers here to confirm the payments are made. I noticed he was reluctant to help then he sat at a desk and I showed him papers. He started looking whilst he was looking there was couple of payments to confirm then he said you cannot pay anything today as our system is not working and I am watching the cashier carrying out transactions. The person did not want to help was very , rude arrogant and made false excuses.
I have noticed the staff are very laid back and unwilling to help at any time you visit at some branches. Do these people realise if we did not bank in their branches they would not have jobs and the attitude to look down on members of public without knowing the facts and knowledge of individuals. .it seems no customer values are learnt.

I had a negative experience with Metro…
I had a negative experience with Metro Bank recently. I applied for a loan from for £23,000, and although it was approved within an hour, they froze my account completely. This caused me to miss my direct debit and affected my credit score. Additionally, I was charged double for my house insurance due to the missed payment. The customer service at Metro Bank directed me to email them to resolve the issue. Overall, I feel frustrated and disappointed with the bank's service. I plan to switch my account as soon as I can, as my account has been blocked for over seven days, making it impossible to make purchases or receive money. I hope Metro Bank can improve their customer service and address these issues."

Avoid for mortgages

Been waiting for a mortgage decision from Metro for 11 weeks, now our broker can’t even get them to answer the phone. Apparently they have a 30 day queue back log to look at, and don’t bother to update our broker with progress. Gone elsewhere for our mortgage now, which was approved in days.

Lack of protection privided by Metro bank.

Metro bank is the only bank that does not cover for a disputed transaction. They are the only bank that does not protect their customers when making money transfer to stop the transfer if it to an incorrect account. All other bank have a strict system of having the name and account number matched before sending money across. Where as Metro does not. I will be cancelling all my and my families Metro bank accounts.

Even though I produced my birth…

Even though I produced my birth certificate, (which is a document provided by the government!!) they would not change my name back to my maiden name as I requested. They needed proof of divorce.... That could take years! I called to complain.... They still wouldn't change it! Absolutely ridiculous!!! I will be closing my accounts and open a new bank account elsewhere!!!

Wouldn’t even give 1 star but I have to to be able to write this review do NOT bank with metro bank I transferred £700 in to my metro account from my other bank account it cleared from my other bank but did not show up in my metro bank called them up they said no nothings coming in ! The money has left my other account metro have no idea where my money is but are blaming my other bank wich I’ve banked with for years and years never had a problem transferring the money has gone in to every account I’ve ever transferred to and never been a problem ! Please do not bank with metro useless and con artists.

AVOID BANK

4 days - restricted account over £5 transfer from family which we have transferred thousands over the years! Wont release my account! Have wages, bet winnings i cannot access nor change, have direct debits failing! Mental health issues, son who has health issues! Need specialist milk and medication which i need the money for! Absolutely no one at metro cares if you and your whole family died and if it was because of metro they would just turn round and say you didnt read the terms and conditions😂 along with that statement i was told that what they are doing to me is in their Ts & Cs yet when i went onto them and red the section i was told to! It did not say anything that the supervisor at metro was saying and did suggest a trip to specsavers was needed for them! Please save you and your family and AVOID THIS BANK! I am going through courts and FCA and ombudsman and i dont wish it on anyone

Worst possible choice for expats new to…

Worst possible choice for expats new to the UK trying to build credit. They don’t support Open Banking. They claim they do, but I’m here to tell you, I have not found a single lender that can pull your bank statement electronically from Metro. More and more lenders every day insist on this and will not accept paper statements as proof of income.

I’ve wasted a year with Metro. I now have to switch to a bank that does support this and wait a full SIX MONTHS to be eligible for a car loan from any lender.

Why not just use Metro then as the lender to buy a car? LOL they don’t do that.
