“I am very satisfied with my purchase…

“I am very satisfied with my purchase from Metamorphose Masks. The mask is well-crafted, the details are impressive, and it matches the description on the website perfectly. Communication with the seller was polite and professional, and the delivery was fast and without any issues. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for high quality and originality!”

If you value your sanity, just don't go anywhere near them.

Absolute nightmare. I have a catalogue of frustration from the second I paid for a mask from metamorphose masks (I'll refer to them as MM). . I'll spare you the longer detailed version, but I sent around around 15-20 email's, mostly because they simply didn't reply to them. I've never felt so insecure about paying for something than I have this. As a customer spending £100s of, be made to feel so like a neurotic pest, is just unforgivable. I've never experienced such bad customer service in my life.

So.. first off the bat.. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS! I spent around £800. I received only an automated invoice on day of purchase, and no correspondence after that. (other than that instigated by me). Even then I'd have to send several emails before a reply, which was usually weeks later. Lot's and lot's of excuses and no replies, "I was out of town" (which seemed to happen a lot). Was a particular favourite. From a business where coustomers are spending a lot of money. "Technical problems" and delayed postage of a further three weeks after the promised postage day. After several times of inquiring why my tracking number wasn't working, just isn't good enoughIt turned out that a postage label had been created but the mask hadn't been posted. It sat on a shelf! I believe had I not pestered them (again) it would have sat there for months. The mask (because of an issue caused by MMs lack of communication) sat at customs for a further three weeks, until they eventually responded to my pestering emails I'd sent to try and find out where it was!
After having to pester them again I found it at was Landed a further £90 bill for my efforts. The chosen courier would not deal with me directly and needed to correspond via MMs. ! A nightmare! This again took a couple more weeks.

It eventually arrived in a thin cardboard box with no internal cushioning or padding! I was gobsmapped. I've purchased items from China for three pounds and it's had better packaging and far far better customer service and delivery times. Opening the box a whole new level of trauma. I could see straight away that there were several tears in The mask. On the forehead, neck, mouth and ears. Tears could conceivably have been caused during postage. Giving metamorphous masks the benefit of the doubt on this, otherwise whoever made the mask decided it didn't matter or no quality control of any sort was undertaken. Even if it was sent without rips.. IT WAS BOUNCING AROUND INSIDE A BOX TRAVELING 5360.7 Km from Canada to the UK with no internal padding, FFS! Then the real contempt towards customers from MMs hit home. Upon closer inspection of the mask, we could see that the silicon was of the uneven thickness throughout it. The back of the head was a frighteningly fragile one mm progressing steadily through to the front and bottom of the chest which was a v heavy 7mm thick. Something had gone wrong during the casting process. I also realised that some of the the "rips" (under ear's) were actually where cast leakage had been clumsily removed by scalpel. Along with other surface defects were small embedded chunks of clay.
After sending several emails to them, along with more photographs and a suggestion of how the irregular thickness had occurred (having had 5yrs experience with casting during my degree in fine arts)
I had to pester them (again) for a reply. I eventually got one, It was dismissive of my knowledge and went on to claim that thickness is irrelevant. "They've sold thousands of masks and never had one complaint". It was so thin in parts it'd have ripped after a few uses. These excuses were particularly gauling not least because they were ultimately irrelevant to the situation, and no solution offered.

Having being worn into the ground by the issues with MMs. I just wanted done with them and free of the anxiety, frustration and anger theyd caused me. I had no choice other than appeal the payment that thankfully I'd made via PayPal. The irony is that had they had the courtesy to respond or the humility to offer an amicable solution, I needn't have had done so. I would have accepted a partial refund.

Much to my relief PayPal refunded the full price plus postage today. I wrote a very angry review in the middle of all of the shenanigans, with the intention of posting it in the future, I was so frustrated. I couldn't have reviewed them before today, as I was still in "negotiations" with Metakemorepiss masks for a solution. I feared should they see my bad review they'd somehow respond negatively (although upon reflection things couldn't be any worse than they already were). I couldn't find a thing online about MMss. Apart from their own promotional YouTube and Face videos! I had a fear that they were a scam company, No skilled artists, no adequate management or customer service and shabby products. Just don't!
