While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

It was wonderful for training adults
It's easy to build word clouds and quizzes using Mentimeter.
It was quick to gather quantitative inputs from 10-15 people on a 20-questions Lean Assessment Survey.
Great visuals with a variety of interactive strategies - word cloud, choose options, rate options, provide meaning etc. Informative, interactive and easy to use...

A great tool for participatory community actions. Easy to navigate and the visualization of data is great....
This company operates with deceptive business practices. I tried with the free subscription and I was charged for the annual fee (which I knew about originally). I ended up not using the service much at all and was completely caught off guard with the renewal fee that I was charged. I didn't receive any kind of notification or anything, though when I originally signed up, I received email notification and a receipt via email. In them disputing my dispute, they listed out other times throughout the year that they had charged me for things that were not disputed; yet, these charges do not show up in my Mentimeter account (all that was listed were the two annual charges) and I did not receive any notification of charges being made. I ultimately did not get my money back but I want to at least warn people to be careful if using this service because they have some sketchy practices. I would encourage anybody to stay for away from this company.
I initially liked Mentimeter, and so I bought the Pro version for 1 year. Now after 2 months of using it in a high school classroom, I find it to be rather annoying and time-consuming to configure. Let me explain... it does not auto-import presentations and create interactions automatically. Sometimes the full screen works, sometimes it does not. Sometimes it locks-up. The code to enter is entirely too small for students to read. If you don't want the QR code on the pages, you have to select that on every slide. Sometimes images appear on the dashboard, but not on the client side. For pinning on images, there is only 1 pin allowed per page. Clearing results for all slides (when repeating a presentation) sometimes still shows the old responses. The automation is quite poor as compared to Kahoot and Quizizz/Wayground. I am not renewing my subscription, as creating a menti is cumbersome, and the experience is unpredictable. Not recommended.
I am posting this to warn other consumers about what I consider a useless product (we couldn't effectively use or download the data collected) and a company relying on deceptive recurring billings practices to make their sales.
As a small business we enrolled for a one-month free trial and immediately cancelled the subscription to avoid recurring charges. During the first 1-2 days we tried the product, realised it didn't work for our team and we never used the service after that. The company nonetheless continued charging us for more than two entire years!!!
After I complained, the company refunded one year and refused to refund the other year, claiming that their accounting department has "closed the books for that year", as being their only justification for keeping those funds. They couldn't provide proof of us not having cancelled our subscription.
Their agent Irene kept coming up with new excuses for rejecting the refund, refused to provide us with the company policy or the law the company relies on for charging excessive amounts while not delivering ANY SERVICE during these periods, and closed her responses with smiley faces. I asked to escalate the issue, which I never received a response to.
this reflects:
unauthorised auto-renewal/recurring charges,
unfair complaint resolution,
and a refund policy applied in a way that does not fairly or consistently address the facts.
There are plenty of better products, provided by ethical companies out there - rather use those.
Very basic functionality and awful PowerPoint integration.
I think mentimeter must have become popular when it was free to use/very cheap because its functionality doesn’t reflect its price point. For instance, there are only 2 options for quiz questions which makes quizzes feel very samey. Other question types are limited too. There’s almost no possibility to customise slides, you can change colours, use a small range of fonts and upload an image but that’s it. You can’t add additional text or anything! The PowerPoint integration is awful to the point where it’s almost unusable, each slide needs to be manually ‘started’ live within the presentation which makes it feel clunks and very easy to slip up and cause embarrassment when presenting to large groups.
I wish I’d looked at alternatives before spending hundreds on this for a year’s licence.
Does the job for one-off events but beware of the auto-renewal as you won't get a single reminder. No refund accepted even if you barely used it under the excuse that you can "still download the data" (which you'll probably never use).
After paying to be able to import slides for a presentation for a month - auto-renewal is turned on automatically. Within hours of the second debit of the credit card, I wrote to ask for a cancellation and a refund. They indicated it could only be done within 14 days of subscription (even though a new payment is a new subscription). Guess I will look again at other providers like Kahoot next time.
Completely rubbish. Tried running it on teams and it wouldn't show my answers or notes; several additional slides seemed to have added themselves to my quiz, whilst others did not show up AT ALL!
I had to search for hours to find out how to reinstate the leaderboard slide after I accidentally deleted it and even then, it didn't work. All in all it made a complete hash of what should have been a very simple quiz and made me look stupid as quizmaster. Yuk, deleting it ENTIRELY!!
I use Mentimeter for my university courses and corporate seminars. It brings an interactivity vibe into the room. With the new AI capabilities, creating one from scratch is fantastic. I feel paying the annual fee is value for money.
It came out of nowhere to take down the abuse of Kahoot, leaving many options for free and now it's just another useless tool if you don't pay its fee.
In my organisation , we were looking to have efficient sprint retro meetings - although Menti has so many bugs it makes it very annoying with the new problem every time. Our scrum master showed us the QR and the text code - but when we tried joining it just keeps on showing 'waiting for the presentation to start' . when in fact it was visible from scanning the QR CODE . If you are part of an Org with security and firewalls in place - its not gonna work at all . A good alternate would reetro.io
I love this tool! It's great for easy surveying, fantastic for engagement, and I have used it in groups as small as 4 to as large as 200+ for a couple of years. It has simple visuals. Where it can improve is having more features like participant ability to move things around on the screen, but perhaps that is not the intent.
I purchased a subscription at a cost of $172.66 and after buying, discovered that it would not do what I needed it to do for my presentations. I contacted Memtimeter and explained and asked to cancel the subscription and for them to issue a pro-rated refund. After going around the houses, I received a response that refunds can only be processed within 14 days. I tried to explain that the system did not do what I needed so it was a useless subscription for me. However, they did not seen to care and refused to refund any of of the money I paid. Really bad service and I would say to others beware of this. There are lots of other programs out there which do more and cost less so do your research beforehand. I wish I had!
