The milk lance is fine but the bigger problem is with the machine, especially the Barista TS Smart that dispenses milk at around 44 degrees - even using the lance! Buying the lance was advised by Melitta support team as I could not get a flat white or latte to read above 54 degrees straight from the machine. They suggested the lance would increase the distance travelled and create more heating time but this did not work so I'm sending it back and moving to Siemens or Miele. I think an easy fix for Melitta might be a firmware update for their machines but I don't think that is possible by a mere consumer like me. On the positive side, if you want black coffees then the TS smart is a fantastic machine ... but you won't need the lance!
