The package remains undelivered but I did get a partial refund less the postage costs. I informed them that under EU law they are required to provide a full refund including postage but they refused instead blaming the delivery company and myself for not choosing tracked delivery. Their replies were prompt and courteous but clearly do not take their responsibilities seriously.

We are always unhappy when there are these experiences.

We have duly sent you your order 1170 on the 17th November. We have also answered any correspondence you sent us. Please do not misinform people.

When you have not yet received the items, it becomes the responsibility of the shipper.

No tracking was bought for the shipment, so there is no way to check better.

Slow delivery to Ireland

We ordered multiple liquid cultures and small grain spawn bags from the company to Ireland. The shipment was dispatched 1 week after the order was sent, and it took 14 days after dispatching for delivery.
Everything we ordered was included, there were no missing articles. The liquid cultures were packed well and tight.
The 300g grain spawn bag was also well packed, with a filter patch, half colonized.
The small packets (40g) of grain spawn however were not the greatest. They were packed in regular small reusable mechanical seal pouches. Very clearly not airtight. Most packets showed little to some mycelium spread, and one packet showed no signs of colonization at all, which seems strange considering it was on route for two weeks.
Customer support was responsive and cordial, though somewhat dismissive with our concerns.
Quality of all products remains to be seen. After testing could potentially change retaing to +/- 1 star.
Overall couldn't recommend to other buyers in Ireland at the moment, mostly because of the delivery time.

Thank you for your feedback.
As already explained in an email reply, when we ship grain spawn, from experience, for the best results to our clients, we follow these:

1. None of the grain spawn versions are airtight. The 500g and 300g come with filter patches for air exchange during transport

2. The 40g versions are sold as samples - as indicated very clearly when they are bought because we know that they become more sensitive during transport. They are not supposed to be airtight, again to allow for some air exchange, but probably the most airtight from all the other versions. This is noticeable because the mycellium tends to grow towards the bag opening during transit. Photos of the product showing how they are packed are displayed clearly before purchase.

3. We normally also prefer to send grain spawn not totally colonized - the point is to let it grow more during transport, arriving better at our clients. The solution is to leave the bag in a dark dry place for 3 to 4 days extra days.
4. We use the week between ordering and dispatch to innoculate our grains from fresh mycelium every time. Full colonisation could take 2 or even 3 weeks for certain species, which would lengthens dispatch times much more.
5. We did not expect that it takes 14 days to arrive to Ireland. Normally it takes much less. On this level we will seek to be more attentive from our end, but in the end this transit time is not in our control.

We are always looking for giving our clients the best of service. The points raised above are not dismissive at all, but are technical facts which have worked on many a occasion especially for transit purposes.

Still, we appreciate this feedback.
