I have just used Medcert for the second time. The first was very good, second was nothing short of brilliant. I did not receive the 4 month reminder from the police, and due to poor calendar drills,... See more

Absolutley impressed with Medcert. First met the team at the British Shooting Show a few years ago and, having mild concerns about using my GP, I reached out. My GP dragged their heels in sending my m... See more

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

If I could give Medcert minus points, I would, as they very nearly cost me both my FAC and SGC. My Doctor and local practise refused to help with certificate renewals, so I had no choice but to try Medcert and after reading their own raving reviews, started my application.
At first, all was good. The online process was extremely simple and settling of the fee was straight forward and legit, so I was happy.
From that moment on, it was a costly nightmare for nearly 6 months and it was only after threats of legal action and compensation for firearms storage that this matter was concluded!
My GP submitted my reports to Medcert within the legal time frame and as I knew there was nothing to worry about, I didn't.
When logging into my Medcert account, all that was shown was "Processing". As my expiry date went from 25 weeks away, to 16, 12, 8, 6, 3 weeks, you can imagine my worry. Medcert failed to answer any of my calls or reply to any of my emails through their contact information provided.
My certs then expired and Medcert didn't once contact me via my answer machine messages or emails, prior to this happening.
Thankfully my relationship with the Police was good and I managed to get extensions, however after my 2nd extension, the situation was dia!
After seeking legal advice and sitting down with the Police, we managed to get a mobile contact number for the CEO from another Medcert customer who has a similar experience and you could imagine the surprise when the CEO of Medcert answered my first call to this personal number.
From that moment on, it was continuous lies, stalling tactics but thankfully the police we're now involved and dealing with Medcert as well, until the matter was concluded, even after they were issued the same lies which strengthened my case.
I will never give Medcert the time of day again or recommend them to anyone, they are incompetent and just want your money!

Simple, quick and efficient

The online process was convenient, intuitive and quick - it took the hassle out of contacting the doctor myself with the paper forms. Payment was simple and reasonable for the service quality and lack of hassle - the medical certificate arrived promptly in the expected timescales. Not a lot else to say; it was simple quick and efficient, someone else did the work for me: what's not to like.

After struggling with my doctors surgery not wanting to give me a medical for my firearms and wanting £250 if they do so, I went to medcert. So much cheaper, kept me updated. I had no problems. Thanks

Took about 8 weeks from start to finish to apply and get my first shot gun licence using medcert for my doctor's report as the police no longer accept the paper version, can only comment on my own experience and I had no delays or problems

Absolutely superb!

Absolutely superb!. I found MedCert to be incredibly efficient & reliable during my recent SGC renewal process. Despite the delay in my doctor forwarding them the required information; MedCert kept me updated throughout. The ladies that I spoke to on the telephone on several occasions, were always very helpful; always answering my questions fully & in a very polite & extremely sociable manner. My sincere & grateful thanks to all concerned.
Therefore I am very happy to give MedCert my 100% approval & recommendation.
