The concept is great, the practicality is not

We got about 4 boxes in total, with 4 meals in each box. Almost every time ingredients were missing or replaced with something else. We had to throw at least 3 meals as the meat wasn’t fresh and smelt really bad, although we stored it in the fridge and planned to eat it within the use by date.

Once or twice ingredients were damaged and couldn’t be used (a yoghurt and a pot of crème fraîche).

The recipes and the concept are great but the practicality is very disappointing.

Waste of money, time and mood

Many missing ingredients (what's the point of having these boxes delivered if you have to go to the store anyway), terrifyingly bad cusomter service and non fresh ingredients (the cat didn't even want to touch the raw chicken). I simply wouldn't know how they could do it any worse.

I am very satisfied

I am very satisfied, recepies are logical and easy to follow, food is really very tasty, good quality of vegetables and meet mostly. Unfortunaly, almost weekly we are missing ingredienties. The concept of Marley Spoon is great, no need of shopping , thinking what to cook and no waste.

Not complete

We received 3 meals. Unfortunately, all three lacked an important ingredient. In one case, even the main ingredient was missing. As a result, we still had to buy expensive meat, making the meals very expensive. This was also the last time I ordered a Marley Spoon box. Very unfortunate because the concept is good.

Easy and nutricious

I truly appreciate the idea of getting the packages from Marley Spoon because 1 - it makes my daily routine easier, 2 - it makes me know mew veggies and seasonings and 3 - the ingredients are fresh. Sometimes I do miss some "extra-protein", but in general, Marley Spoon helps me a lot!

Overall great

I love not having to think about grocery shopping; you can choose from several dishes; food is most of the time very good (i have only tried veggie options); portions are big enough (i have ordered menus for two people); delivery via Postnl sometimes delayed.

Good experience so far

Good experience so far, quality is good and the variety of recipies is large.

I had 2 issues so far, once the package was not delivered and another time an ingredient was missing, but I the customer support was easy going and I got good compensation.

Terrible!

Repeatable ingredients missing

Repeatable ingredients missing, had 4 dishes this week, in each box something missing. Customer service does NOT pick up the phone, and does not answer to emails! Last week also ingredients missing!
Do not sign up with Marley Spoon...

Update: Finally reached Marley Spoon over the phone (they have not reached out to me, and not answered to my emails since 2 weeks). They claim to have distribution problems, and therefore not delivering the dishes complete! So they actually are aware that they deliver incomplete, but still do so, so they can charge the full amount, instead of cancelling the orders. This is fraud! They offered only 20 eur refund for 5 meals I was not able to cook, because central ingredients missing. I want full refund of these 5 meals which is more than 50 EUR.

Really bad customer service

I really like the product, and the meals are tasty. However the customer service is not responsive, or friendly. In my last order in one meal they forgot to add something essential to the dish, so I could not cook it. This can happen, no biggie, however I contacted customer service, with the ask to refund the money for this meal. No answer since 5 days...

The other issue with customer service was that I booked a specific delivery time, and they contacted me to notify me that they could not keep the slot and would come at another time on that day. I then wrote back that I am not at home, that they should please come at the chosen slot or deliver another day, as I am not at home. The customer service then wrote back, ignoring my suggestions, saying that they would put the food in front of my door. Which is pretty crazy because I live in the center of Amsterdam... in the end they tried to deliver at the denied time slot. And came back later again, so I got the order, but I am not sure how it was stored as the bags were wet and looked like they had been out of the fridge for some while.

So I can definitely recommend the food and meals, but they should really improve their customer service.

Third time’s a charm

Requested a box two times now. First box was not delivered and we didn’t get a message they’ve been at our door. Contacted customer service, they told me there was a mistake and the box would be delivered the next day. Next day: no box, they forgot to take it with them.

Contacted customer service again. They’ve told me they added a new credit on my account to order another time again (still no box at my place).
So fool me once, fool my twice it probably won’t happen a third time. Ordered a new box which was set to be delivered yesterday. Our fault we weren’t at home at the time table (17-19 and we were at home at 18). No note in the mailbox they’ve been there already, so we waited and they didn’t show up.
Today I’ve contacted the customer service again that the status said: delivered. This was in early in the morning and at this moment (19:30) still no reaction.
The neighbors just came to our place with the box as it was delivered at their place and found it strange we didn’t pick it up. It has been out of the fridge for 1 day so 50% off all the items we had to throw away.

So far our Marley spoon experience. We’ve tried, but we will stop trying now

I love Marley Spoon and the concept for…

I love Marley Spoon and the concept for its convenience and sometimes quite fancy recipes. Healthy, delicious, saves time, great choices available. The only thing I believe can be reduced is the use of plastic especially for (already cut) vegetables it is unneccessary, as well as for sauces/salad dressings/soy sauce etc.

I definitely recommend Marley Spoon

I definitely recommend Marley Spoon. We order 3 meals per week and it helps enormously with the ‘what shall I cook tonight??’ syndrome. It also expands our normal cooking repertoire, as we are introduced to new ideas.
We also order the fruit box which is good value although fruit is occasionally damaged. Marley Spoon always refunds immediately in this case.
The quality of the ingredients is always good (the fish is excellent, extremely fresh. We don’t eat meat.) Flavour of the meals varies from great to average / good, and occasionally a bit bland. Generally there is a wide enough range of meals to choose from that you can get something you want to eat.
