M & S White City London Harassment

I worked for M & S faithfully for 17 years in M & S White City London. I made a complaint about harassment from a supervisor name of Bilal Agbaloul and another complaint about an aggressive warehouse man name of Colin. They delayed giving me a response for years. They got tired of me complaining and store manager Mike Stewart decided to aggravate me alongside his managers to try to get me to resign.

I was already suffering from depression and anxiety. The store managers manner and behaviour was upsetting me. He aggravated me alongside his managers.

I lost my temper with them for ignoring me and aggravating me instead. They suspended me then I was dismissed for gross misconduct by Carl Flanagan of M & S Marble Arch London.

Shopping in M&S

I love M&. The clothes are quality & there's no having to argue for a refund. As long as you have the email which they send instead of receipts which I've now got used to. They are exceptionally honest when I've tried something on & asked a staff member "what do they think." They've always been truthful rather than say "it looks lovely" which I think is a bonus. It really matters to me which I find impressive rather than letting me buy any item of clothing to go home only to think "Oh no, I'll have to take it back. Superb shop & terrific customer services.

Marks and Spencer Sprucefield

Marks and Spencer Sprucefield - Friday 30 Jan around two
Was happily browsing in the jewellery section when I noticed a rather demented women trashing on of the jewellry stands - jewellry ( mostly earrings) where being placed on the floor and then to my horror , multiple packets held her in mouth as they were rearranged on the stand. I went to get help and spoke to a member of staff who explained the person in question is an outside contractor .
I later went back to the stand and I could see which earring packets had been mouth held - I mentioned this incident again at checkout .

Underwear caused severe, painful skin-rash

Suffered a severe and painful skin-rash, including blisters after purchasing new underwear. Reported immediately with customer support to request a return and refund. After some weeks of 'investigation', M&S refused to refund me because they couldn't track down the batch that caused the issue. Shocking customer-service and a likely breach of consumer-rights.

Exeter M&S Opticians

Early this month I had a sight test at the Exeter M&S store. The service was brilliant from the warm welcome to the eye test and receiving an excellent pair of glasses.
I would definetly recommend this store and employees for their brilliant service.
The only problem was finding it hidden behind the childrens wear!

Dire customer service

Dire customer service department-are they based in South Africa? I've twice had issues with incorrect deliveries and asked for replacement items which they in one instance ordered incorrectly and on the other took so long over replying to me that the item was out of stock. Fed up.

Why I continue to shop with M&S

I recently had an issue with some Pure Cotton baby clothes shrinking after the first wash and dry, despite following the care instructions. I contacted M&S customer services and was really impressed with how they handled it.

They listened, reviewed the photos I sent, and resolved the issue quickly and professionally with a full refund. Communication was clear, polite, and understanding throughout.

While it was disappointing to experience the problem initially, the customer service was excellent and reminded me why I continue to shop with M&S. Issues can happen anywhere, but it’s how they’re handled that matters — and in this case, M&S got it right.

Total dissapointment

Got a bouquet of flowers delivered .When they arived they said tyey would need to wake up ...these flowers could not be resuscitated let alone wakened up.
Phoned to complain and to be fair a new bouquet arrived today.More greenery and foliage than flowers , two of the main flowers two artificial flowers on sticks and 3 other flowers for 30 quid !

M&S Hammersmith

I had a very unpleasant experience at M&S Hammersmith. A sales assistant was unable to help me and called the store manager over, but instead of resolving the issue, the situation became worse.

The store manager was extremely patronising and dismissive, with a smirk on her face throughout the interaction. She repeatedly said the same thing over and over again without listening or attempting to help in any way. Her tone was insulting, and she clearly thought very highly of herself despite behaving in a completely unprofessional manner.

For a store manager, she was shockingly unprofessional, both in attitude and appearance, she was wearing a bobbling red cardigan, had long chipped red nails (one of which was broken), and overall looked very scruffy for someone in a managerial role. A store manager is supposed to lead by example, but she behaved more like a junior member of staff. This is not how a manager should represent the brand.

I have contacted M&S Customer Services to make a formal complaint. This experience has completely put me off shopping at this store.

Visited M&S Handforth Dean on a Saturday afternoon.
Not a single helper available or in site.
Asked a security guy who directed me to the tills.
Big queue there. Not going to queue for ages just to ask where something is.

Plastic shard in Trifle

I bought an M&S trifle on 21 January 2026 and it had a two inch long thin plastic shard in the jelly part, resembling a fish bone

I have sent pictures of the shard in the trifle to CS, plus the label showing the bar code and use by date but they are not making it easy

I am not after compensation - I am simply alerting them

Their products are more expensive than most, so don't expect this

No longer an esteemed store.…

I am glad I am paying down my credit card, never to use again. Their club rewards are rubbish, the code never works, it always comes up with this code is either expired or you have used it already or it isn’t available for this product.
So, I am almost done with them, next month sees the very last payment, thankfully I don’t use them any more.
This isn’t the first time I have had issues redeeming my club rewards. So I have had enough. I am done. You can’t contact anyone, it is mainly AI it seems. The phone numbers are useless.
WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU MARKS AND SPARKS? You are rubbish now. Not the esteemed store you used to be that is for sure.

Loyal customer lost £48 to store

Usually a good experience with this store but they have let me down with an order I had returned originally for my honeymoon. Returned a dress that the app allowed me to return and had help from a store assistant to return it as was having issues with the barcode. Parcel placed in return bin and later received an email to say my return was not valid and received an e-gift card in return. As this was over Christmas and still in cloud nine from getting married I got the expiry date muddled up (mistakes are made) Gutted. I contacted the store as I have had other companies extend expert dates but M&S said nothing could be done and I asked it to be escalated - felt like an automated response ignoring my points about how I was encouraged to trust the return system. I would have never returned the dress if I had known I will lose £48 to a huge store like M&S. disappointed, especially when the store state they push for being green and supporting charities.

Not the Best Ever sausage rolls IMO

Marks & Spencer's sausage rolls (Best Ever range). Smelt nice when heated in the oven but overall experience was disappointing. Average quality of the sausage product which clearly had (what looked like) too much Rusk in the contents and also a lot of soft rind. Most content was fluffy not meaty and it lacked any appreciable flavour. I clearly paid a lot for some tasty puff pastry. I won’t be buying any more.

I am extremely concerned by the way…

I am extremely concerned by the way Marks & Spencer has handled a serious product safety issue.
I have made numerous attempts to report the presence of broken glass shards associated with a product — a matter that clearly presents a significant risk of injury and could potentially affect multiple customers. This is not a minor complaint, but a genuine health and safety concern that requires immediate and responsible action.
Despite making multiple phone calls, the issue has not been addressed or escalated. Even more concerning is the fact that Marks & Spencer’s email servers appear to be rejecting incoming messages, leaving customers without a reliable written method to report urgent safety concerns or provide supporting evidence. This makes it effectively impossible to formally notify the company of a potentially dangerous situation.
The lack of urgency, accountability, and accessible communication demonstrates a concerning disregard for customer safety and wellbeing. For a company of this size and reputation, I would expect clear procedures, prompt engagement, and a duty of care when a serious risk is raised.
Unfortunately, my experience has shown the opposite. The handling of this matter has been deeply disappointing and has significantly undermined my confidence in Marks & Spencer’s commitment to customer safety.
I can only hope that no-one else has been affected by this.
