I started using the dry shampoo and the styling spray- I loved both so I decided to get the Luminous Color shampoo… My hair has been falling out in the handfuls. Like many others said, my hair looks heat damaged and not healthy. I also have a flaky scalp and weird residue. Super disappointed, I had high expectations for this product:: not to mention it’s expensive.

Like the other have said

Like the other have said, hair is broken snapped and looks burnt! I have really fine hair anyway and thought this product would be good for it as it was mostly natural. I was so wrong…..I am devastated as I have now been left with snapped hair, the top section has snapped off really bad and I am left with a short section that looks so bad. Definitely avoid!!!! Wish I would of done my research first

Poor results for what I paid

If I had not spent so much money for the luminous color and conditioner set, I would have thrown it away after the first use, instead I gave it away to someone with a warning. It left a heavy unwanted residue in my hair that seemed to make it water repellent and difficult to wash out when I cleaned my hair again.

Hi, thank you for letting us know about your situation. We would love to know what products you've used before trying Luminous Colour. We know that hair can react similar to what you describe when the hair and scalp are not used to sulphate and paraben free products. It usually takes a few times for the hair and scalp to adjust if it's not used to new ingredients. How did you friend experience the products? If you even need our service, please feel free to reach out to americas@marianila.com

NOT FOR LONG TERM USE!!!

Just as others have stated.. my hair has always been thick and long and I’ve never had a breakage problem.. Until long term use from this line..:( my hair looks chemically burned and extremely fragile.. at first I thought maybe it’s something else but after trying everything else besides changing out this product with something else nothing worked. I decided to research this product deeper and I’ve obviously found that YES! It CAUSES EXTREME breakage after long term use..😢😥 so freaking disappointed shame on this company… fix your line or just get rid of it OR better yet! Inform people that your product is not for long term use!!!

The product just does not work on my hair. It feels as if my hair is more greasier after washing. It also leaves a weird texture in my hair. Smells like nothing either.

Since I’ve used this product my scalp feels better but my long hair is breaking everywhere! It’s crazy! I have all of these bits of hair shedding off my clothes and my hair itself, for the first time in my life, is frizzy? (For lack of a better term.) Now I have this to deal with! Gah! 😩

As a salon owner in

As a salon owner in the prime area of Midtown Miami, I decided to make Maria Nila the salon take-home and wash station products. I fell in love with the results at first. It did promise to do what it said. But after long term use, I’ve had several clients, my stylist and myself experience hair loss in small clumps every time brushing or washing. We came to the conclusion that it was the Maria Nila shampoo and conditioner. My stylist and I decided to switch to another brand to see if there was a difference, and there was! We all stopped loosing hair in clumps. As much as I love the look of the products, it does not reflect the outcome of the constant usage. It’s also very disappointing to see all the hidden silicon in the product. I will be returning all our products back to the suppliers and switching to a more serious brand I can trust.

Disappointing

To my surprise, the product is not natural. I had high expectations, but my hair looked really bad after using their products. I research the ingredients and was disappointed to find silicones such as Dimethicone, Amodimethicone, and Dimethiconol, as well as humectants such as Sodium Pca, Glycerin, and Propylene Glycol. It's really crazy that my hair was affected so terribly in no time after using only one product. I can't imagine how bad it results if using shampoo, masque and conditioner, as they recommend.
I wrote an email to their team and they said they appreciated my feedback. I hope they will launch an actually natural product line in the future.

I tried the Heal shampoo and I can…

I tried the Heal shampoo and I can declare myself 100% they won my heart and then I ordered the smooth and repair shampoo and conditioner.Amazing my hair is healthy and considered the fact that I have a sensitive scalp the Heal shampoo helped me from the first use.I tried the Kerastase and Aveeno and did nothing but Maria Nila really shows results. Plus they are vegan and don’t use any silicone and other bad stuff and the bottles are fully made from a material that doesn’t harm the environment!
Amazing!

Falsely promoting an environmentally conscious image

Maria Nila makes herself look good by promoting an environmentally conscious image. Yet they make use of silicones (Dimethicone), for instance in their hair repair products. Dimethicone causes buildup and clogs up skin and hair. Though not toxic, they do cause disruption of skin and hair, thus causing skin rash. Silicones are widely used in hair products to give that feeling of a moisturized slip but in reality, it's just coating the strands and acting as a filler. Because, like mineral oils, they are non biodegradable, they end up as waste and are harmful to our environment. If you really care for your hair, skin and the environment, I suggest you buy products that are both silicone- & paraben free. Some non-soluble silicones that are typically found in hair products include: cyclomethicone, dimethicone copolyol, dimethicone, amodimethicone, phenyl trimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane en cyclohexasiloxane. I wrote an E-mail to the Maria Nila company, but never received any reply or comment.
