Amazing customer service
Their customer service team truly went above and beyond to help with my order when I had multiple issues making an exchange (all my fault, not theirs). They were so helpful and kind and always responded promptly, even on weekends. I also love their clothes. I bought a few things during their black friday sale and have now worn some of the items multiple times. Everything seems high quality, fit true to size, and looked exactly like the photos on the website. It’s also the first time in a while that I’ve bought clothing and felt like it was actually worth what I paid for it. I will absolutely be shopping here again.

No, I am not a bot. What I am is truly and utterly surprised by the bad reviews. I ordered two items and live in Australia. The transit time was perfectly acceptable and arrived by DHL. The two pieces were stunning, and the fabrics were to die for. I will definitely be a repeat customer!

I have loved everything I purchased from Marcella—the designs are truly stylish and unique; and the quality is excellent. I have purchased their Mackensie wool coat, palmer sweater, a sweatshirt and more! And their customer service has been excellent. They have been responsive and helpful everytime I reached out whether it be for sizing information, product details (e.g weight of wool coat) or discount information (Thank you Thalia)

Customer service is nonexistent
Customer service is nonexistent. I have been a very good customer…shipping has always been very slow. My most recent order still has not been delivered . I have sent numerous emails…..I cannot recommend ordering from them any longer. I have been charged< they have been less than truthful regarding the status of my order. I was informed days ago …it was processed, waiting for carrier. I then received another email….saying it will be preceded and sent to carrier. They are incompetent ot they lie.

Beware, extremely long shipping times
My order of around $200 (2 shirts) is currently on day 13 and I just received notice that there’s a delay. They can’t give me an eta, and I planned to bring these on a trip I’m leaving for next week. Who would have thought that ordering 3 weeks in advance wouldn’t be enough?

Missing you on Fillmore
On August 31, 2025, the Marcela NYC brick and mortar store closed on Fillmore Street in San Francisco. I went to the sale that day and bought the Audrey sweater, and a dress. The Audrey sweater is phenomenal. It doubles as a statement piece for work and evening occasions. I miss the store’s presence in San Francisco as it elevated the style on Fillmore Street, and in the surrounding area. Thank you so much, Marcella NYC!
Scammy and irreverant policy about handling overcharges and mistakes
After spending way too much time to place an order due to a terrible app exchange system that required me to repeatedly reenter info and refill my cart with the items I wanted, my purchase went through with mistakes. The checkout module undid a promo for free item offer that had been in my cart per the written terms in the offer. The checkout module erroneously increased my total by $50 charged to my credit card. It also held back my order shipment date until they received the exchange item even though I'd selected the exchange option to ship immediately. Trying to get it fixed with Marcella NYC took almost a week of slow email responses, with a bunch of nonsense answers that were illogical and scammy. By the time they got to any several of the items I'd purchased were sold out and they hadn't held them when I bought them, now I have to deal with a different problem of cancelling the entire order. I'd wanted to try this company for a while but heard horror stories like this were common. I think the recent good reviews may be fake/paid.

They canceled my order after 3 weeks because they didn’t have enough stock…
Almost 3 weeks after I placed my order and there was still no update or signs that the order had shipped. I reached out to customer service to see if I could get an update and was met with an unhelpful response from an AI assistant. I emailed again and a customer service rep replied and canceled my order because they did not have enough stock to fulfill my order. I have never run into an issue like this with any online retailer, including other small businesses. The products look great online and I was planning for a while to buy something. Unfortunately I endded up very disappointed by this unprofessional and disorganized service.
Update - they do not even reply to customer service messages within 24h on working days. I highly suspect they forgot about my order and ran out of stock by the time I reached out.

Marcella - A Love Story
Marcella is truly an amazing company all around. There are very few companies who not only treat their employees with integrity and respect, but also their customers. On top of this, they have a sustainability/environmentally-conscious approach to their business, which is rare in the retail clothing industry. The icing on the cake is their customer service - top notch. I love their unique and chic pieces, the material is high quality and the fit is wonderful. I also love that they offer so many modest pieces (tunics, longer sweatshirts, etc.)- again, a rarity. I can't recommend them enough.
Rigid Policies and awful Customer Experience
I shopped at Marcella NYC for the first time and bought the Mackenzie wool coat for Black Friday and was extremely excited for it. It took awhile for the coat to arrive, but I was patient. However, I ordered the wrong size and it was final sale (marked on website), so I asked for an exchange which they reasonably denied, despite the coat be sold at full price on their website in the size I needed. So I asked if a manager/supervisor can confirm- Lucky I (a customer service rep, I presume) was the one answering my emails. She didn’t escalate to a manager despite multiple requests and I even offered to buy the coat at full price to get the correct size. She denied both and was sending me templated emails saying it’s not possible. While I understand that returns do create a sustainability issue, in my case I was asking for an exchange along with paying the difference. My request was reasonable and asked with politenesss. No flexibility for my first time interaction with the brand and I’m not going to shop here again. I do not recommend.
Do not trust!
I have not been able to get any response from this company regarding my instant exchange. I sent in my return the same day I received the order and followed the process.
I’ve only been able to get in contact with their “virtual assistant” who now says my order doesn’t even exist. I’ve been charged twice on my card, don’t have my jeans, and don’t have a refund.
Horrible company.
Beware of needing a return
Some of the clothing is great but other pieces not so much. Beware of their return process! They use bots instead of people. I opted to replace items, returned items a month ago, and have not received any replacements. I just took a $236.80 loss to try new pants. Will not make that same mistake again!
Amazing customer service
While the item in question (which was very well-made) didn't work out, the customer service is amazing! I was unable to process the return on my own because when I entered it into the platform, I kept getting a message that the item wasn't eligible. Emailed customer support, got a prompt response, and when the glitch persisted, they processed it on their end and sent me a QR code. A frustrating situation made simple, thanks to an efficient, friendly team. I'll definitely shop with Marcella again!
Amazing customer service
I ordered a few pieces after looking at them for ages. I absolutely love each piece. They fit true to size, and the quality is great. I had a small issue with the shipping charges, and their support team got back to me within 24 hours and immediately sorted it out for me, no questions asked! Highly recommend.
I placed an order almost a week ago…
I placed an order almost a week ago that's been "processing" with no update or tracking number. All outreach to their support email has gone completely unacknowledged. I aim to support small businesses but this is ridiculous and I will have my bank dispute the charges. Get a real person to help with customer support already.
