Such a shame the company is going/gone. Thanks to the greed of the owners over many years.
Now to all those Complainers on here a few notes for you:
1. The main cause of poor customer service is in fact the customer themselves - over opinionated and a sense of over entitlement.
Just because a firm won't refund/replace something (Normally because you broke it or are to stupid to read the instructions) or chuck you out because your being an abusive A Hole -- does not constitute bad service.
NOT GETTING YOUR OWN WAY DOES NOT EQUAL BAD SERVICE
2. Yes some of the prices were higher, some were also lower than other retailers -- No one forced you to buy from Maplin - YOU Chose to.
3. If you where polite to the member of staff they would often go out of their way to help you (as is the Maplin way), why should anyone bend over backwards for someone being an A Hole?
You get my point - Yes there where a few rough stores but not many, the vast majority where full of hard working/Loyal and very knowledgeable staff.
So the next time you walk in to a shop and ask for a USB cable to charge your laptop or an HDM1 cable -- Remember you had somewhere that would have told you the right information and wanted to help you rather than get you out of the building.
