As an owner of a majority of the Elektron gear, the Digitakt MK1 was not where I wanted it specs wise, the new Digitakt MK2 is everything one could ask for in an Elektron sampler without the scenes and cross-fader of the octatrack. It is a sampling power-house with banks of samples ready to go, coupled with the Elektron Sequencer (also absent the slide/glide trigs of the A4) I was hesitant to buy any of the smaller units (Syntakt/Digitone/Digitakt) thinking the form factor was cramped but they're actually very comfortable to work on.
