Mason Genie provides a 60-day satisfaction guarantee (or your money back, right?) and a 1-year manufacturer's warranty. I am well within my 60-day satisfaction test timeframe and am genuinely disappointed given the price of this product. The Mason Genie does not seal well at all - we can lift the lids with our fingers OR the seals begin to fail within days (and this is using brand new Ball jars and lids). I requested a refund of the one open Mason Genie, the one unopened Mason Genie and the unopened lids I ordered. I was sent to a website to begin the return process, which includes a mandatory video of us using the product and showing the failure. I declined the request of the video and was told that was the only way they can assess whether to provide a refund or not?! So much for the satisfaction guarantee. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY unless you don't want your money back when you are not satisfied with your purchase as they claim they offer.

À la réception, le produit est une copie chinoise bas de gamme, sans aucun rapport avec les visuels contractuels du site. C'est une pratique commerciale trompeuse : ils utilisent l'image d'une grande marque pour vendre un article générique que l'on trouve à 20 € ailleurs.

Le service client tente d'imposer des frais de retour à l'acheteur malgré la non-conformité flagrante. J'ai engagé une procédure de signalement et de rétrofacturation (chargeback) auprès de ma banque. Passez votre chemin !

SCAM - Misleading advertising and fake products

Avoid this website at all costs. They are using copyrighted images of the Joseph Joseph brand to sell low-quality generic imitations from China.

The product I received for €69.95 is not the one shown in the professional photos. This is a clear breach of the Consumer Rights Act 2015 regarding goods being 'as described'.

They are trying to charge for return shipping even though the item is non-compliant. I have reported them to Action Fraud UK and initiated a chargeback with my bank. This is a typical dropshipping scam hiding behind a London address.

Got it for Christmas, and it worked according to directions putting the lid on. But When I wanted to take the mechanism off, it pulls off the lid. No directions about how to remove the mechanism without it pulling off the lid you put on.. USELESS

Ours worked just great for only a few months. Began to notice jars in the pantry that the lids had popped loose. Now the genie will not take or hold a charge. Trying to get a refund or a new product is real challenging and lots of hoops to jump through. Very disappointed.
I need to add that the company has now sent us a brand new one free of charge and we are very happy.

We used the Mason Genie maybe 10 times. It won’t stay charged long enough to do one jar. Company said it was defective but being it was over a year they would give me a discount. LOL. The discount is what amazon has it priced at all the time. Not worth it.

The mason genie worked at first and then it stopped. Lids were sticking and the jars weren't sealing. I did all the troubleshooting tips and nothing worked. I emailed the company and never heard back. I'm very disappointed and would not purchase again

I have never received my order and they, Mason Genie Support, keep replying that it was lost in transit and they have no control over that. MGS also keeps promising a new order will be shipped. To date no product has been received and no credit returned. BUYER BEWARE!

Mason Genie uses clear and purposeful patterns of unfair commercial practices, including dark patterns, on their website. They received more money from me than I intended or wanted, and have policies in place to make sure only the customer will pay more—and they never foot the bill for items their customers get tricked into buying. I feel cheated and taken advantage of.

A list of their unethical practices I experienced, after buying an additional item in my order by accident:
- A post-purchase one-click upsell page, with deceptive price anchoring
- Consent bypass / lack of informed authorization
- Heavily delayed response to customer support (1 month), and not fixing the order before shipping
- First suggesting that I just keep the mistakenly purchased item (not yet agreeing to help with the refund I requested)
- Eventually offering only a partial refund (40%) or customer-paid return shipping (1 month after the purchase)

I returned product on Sept 8th 2025 Today is November 21st and I've still not been issued the refund in the amount due $134.44.

The mason genie seals the jar, but most of the time it doesn’t release from the jar until it sits for a while. I bought a knock off for $14 and it works perfectly.
Mason genie help is pretty much worthless, all they want is videos to see what is wrong well it’s simple it doesn’t release. Expensive junk!

This product is an expensive scam. The unit worked fine exactly 12 times and now the lid gets stuck in the unit every time. When I contacted the company the response, to their credit, was prompt but I've only gotten insincere apologies in lieu of actually solving the problem. They want videos to show the problem. My impression is they are trying to make the resolution process so tedious people stop trying and with me, unfortunately, it worked. Don't get scammed as I did, Any product with 76% 1 star rating is garbage and Mason Genie knows it.

Doesn't release the lid after sealing only two jars. I sent the requested video clearly showing the malfunction and they want me to troubleshoot and diagnose what is wrong with their product plus send more videos! You must pay shipping to return a defective product or receive only 40% of your money back! I have the email conversation

Haven't even received a tracking number for my order and it's already gone bad. Ordering from the site is confusing. I wanted to order 2 but some how ordered 3. Emailed right away to canel one and was told they can't because the order shipped. It's now 3 days and still no tracking number. Their "support" people are quick to respond but with no solutions, just apologizies. I said either cancel my order or provide me with a tracking number. Not ordering from them ever again!!! If I could give no stars I would.

I have only used it twice and I cannot get the genie to come off my jar after using it. It is stuck on the jar. Very disappointed. I should have looked on Trust Pilot before I purchased. Worked great the first couple of times.
Update: I learned that if you just let the mason genie sit on the lid for a bit it will come off. So I am happy with it so far.

The product seals but the seal only keeps less than 24 hours so it is totally useless. I would not recommend this product. The company is ignoring my request for a refund and keep asking videos.

Mason Genie if your product is any good are at least going to try and defend yourself against these negative comments ?.

I had the mason genie for 1 1/2 years and it generally worked fine. Then it just stopped working. Fully charged, but it just stopped working for no reason except that it was defective. It cost around $60 and if wish I had my money back. That was an expensive lesson!

MasonGenie is awful! The lid keeps coming off with the sealer after using. And it needs recharging after each use. Would never buy again.

Excellent product and very good service and delivery.

My order was supposedly shipped on Nov. 30. I still don’t have it! According to tracking it’s been in Illinois since December 3rd. I’ve sent numerous emails to Mason Genie and have no response. So if there was a negative star I’ve give you that. This was supposed to be a gift to family member.
