The ladies who work at Mainstar were always so nice and helpful. I never was put on hold to speak with someone. They always answered my questions.

They have made it very difficult to…

They have made it very difficult to cash out anything. My mom had to be placed in a long term care facility and I attempted to cash out her investment to pay for her care and was told we were approved in May 2020 for a cash out in July 2020. Then were told in August 2020 nothing will be paid out. Then my mom passed away in December 2020 and I was the beneficiary and instead of paying out they made me put It in an inheritance account and still can't cash it out. The amount of paperwork required is ridiculous and i was given different information from everyone I spoke with each time I called.

This was a new asset that had not been…

This was a new asset that had not been evaluated and approved by Mainstar. This may be my issue but it was not clear at the beginning of wanting to make this investment that there was a process or even a necessity that the asset be approved by Mainstar. The time it took seemed significantly longer than needed. Information had to be sent 2 or 3 times to Mainstar. One suggestion is to assign one person who can be the primary point of contact for the client. Every time i called I talked with a different person. This is especially important when the investment needs to be expedited. Sometimes i talked with purchasing but they did not know where the asset evaluation team was with approving the asset. Anyway, having a single contact could be helpful.

My situation was a little different

My situation was a little different. I was able to get all the issues resolved and the team persevered through my lack of knowledge and a novel situation. Also, I was looking to have the issue resolved in a time sensitive manner, during a pandemic and around the end of the year. Any of which could have derailed my goal.

Utmost Care

When my father passed away little did I know the magnitude of his financial portfolio. Mainstar was very helpful in answering questions regarding stocks and IRAs that were completely foreign to me, as well as answering questions pertaining to what I wanted with this new fortune and how to complete the necessary forms to allow for transactions to occur. Communications were professional whether by postal mail correspondence, email, or over the phone.

Even though I spoke to several different agents while completing the necessary paperwork, each one was genuinely nice and knowledgeable about where I was in the process and what still needed to be completed. It was as if one individual was handling my business instead of several.

I was so impressed with the privacy issue, the level of professionalism, and the pleasant tones that I am allowing Mainstar Trust to continue managing my new assets.

The set up is messy

The set up is messy. When I pay this much for account set up I expect fantastic customer service. I had to reach out to my wealth advisor about how to access the account it took a long time to confirm and get documentation out. And more importantly, I had to call eventually to get things squared away. The phone representative was helpful, pleasant and we resolved the issue. But the whole process is not quite ready for prime time.

i EVALUATED MAINSTAR TRUST FOR OVER 6…

i EVALUATED MAINSTAR TRUST FOR OVER 6 MONTHS. AFTER EVALUATING AND TALKING TO SEVERAL CUSTOMERS OF MAINSTAR I ENTRUSTED THEM WITH A LARGE PART OF MY RETIREMENT. THEY ARE MY CUSTODIAN. THE CIRCUMSTANCES OF THIS CUSTODIAN WAS NOT A SIMPLE STEP. AT THIS TIME THEY HAVE KEPT THEIR WORD AS WELLAS MET MY EXPECTATIONS TO THE HIGHEST STANDARDS. SO AT THIS TIME IF YOU NEED THERE SERVICES I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM.
