This Platform Does Not Work

I am still not entirely sure what this platform is supposed to accomplish, but the one thing it makes clear almost immediately is that it does not work at all let alone as advertised.

Within seconds of attempting setup, we tried to configure separate email functions for a blog mailing list and a company mailing account. We were abruptly blocked, apparently because both accounts were associated with the same IP address. This restriction was not made clear upfront. Instead of receiving a clear explanation, we were sent a vague, poorly written system message stating the accounts were blocked.

When we contacted support for clarification, the response was dismissive and unhelpful. We were told the accounts were “related” and permanently banned, despite the fact that we never successfully used the platform or sent anything through it. There was no meaningful opportunity to resolve the issue or even properly test the service. They were arrogant and they used part of their 15 minutes of fame.

From what we were able to see before being blocked, the interface itself feels outdated, slow, and underdeveloped. The platform appears antiquated and not competitive with modern alternatives. Performance was sluggish, and the overall experience lacked polish or reliability.

The most frustrating part is not the time lost, but how quickly it became apparent that this is not a viable solution. On the positive side, it only takes a few seconds to realize this and move on to something that actually functions.

What is disappointing is seeing this service appear prominently in search results, despite the product failing at the most basic level of usability. In our experience, it was a waste of time—albeit a brief one—and not something we would consider using or recommending.

Hello,
So sorry but as we indicated in the terms of use, we don't allow multiple free accounts per customer according to our terms of use, but you can use several paid accounts if you need multiple accounts.
I'm sorry if this isn't the response you were hoping for, but our terms are clear at all times: https://mailrelay.com/en/anti-spam-policy/
However, if you'd like us to review your case, you can contact us again, and we'll tell you how to resolve it.

I recommend it.

The service they offer is good, especially for those who are starting out and have few emails to send.
I find the email creation panel intuitive and easy to use.
I have been using their service for a few years, but sending few emails during that time.
I only had one recent problem with my account being blocked, but it was resolved by international support, and my account has already been unblocked and I am sending campaigns again.

Working with mailrelay is destroying my business, because every mail sent is not being delivered to destination mailbox; worse, I have a paid plan.
There IP addresses are rejected by email services like gmail and others.
This is a misleading service and I am in a mobile money industry.

Hello John,

I apologize if you've had any issues with customer service. Our IP addresses are certified, so if you don't send SPAM, there's no problem with inbox delivery (if that were the case, we wouldn't have any customers). We're primarily interested in offering good customer service and quality.

However, I haven't found any tickets or accounts from you. Could you please provide your Mailrelay account so our support department can review it thoroughly and provide you with solutions?

Regards

MailRelay allows ai robots to unjustly close your account.

I had barely got started with Mailrelay when they shut down my account. I only learnt when I asked their customer service chat why I could not log in. When I asked why they said their artificial intelligence discerned I had more than one free account. Telling customer service we did not have more than one free account was like talking to a brick wall. Twice, after giving further details, and after asking for proof from them, we got exactly the same response saying that according to their terms and conditions their ai robot closed our account and blocked us for having multiple accounts. That convinces me that their customer service team is also just a bunch of automated robots, not real people. A mailing list can be worth a lot of money and be very important to the smooth running of a business. For anyone to entrust their list to a company that uses ai robots to automatically close your account is crazy - my experience screams, stay clear of this company or your business could be seriously harmed by them. I have put the matter with our attorneys. MailRelay has now replied to this comment. They say real people operate customer service, yet they still reiterate the same old story that they don´t allow multiple free accounts per customer. I represent three potential customers of theirs. None of those customers had more than one free account. Those customers were automatically blocked without prior notice and without having a chance to explain their case. Some of those customers were discriminated against without cause, and the company has failed to say what criteria they use to say which company can have a free account and which cannot. MailRelay seem incapable of distinguishing between a domain belonging to one company and a domain belonging to a different company, ie to a different customer. The bottom line is an email list is valuable and your email list is a vital part of your business operations and in my experience MailRelay is not worthy of your trust because they may shut you down at the drop of a hat without even telling you and without cause. If you are happy to be treated like that, then good luck, but I am not, which is why I have retained an attorney and which is why I recommend you steer well clear of this company. I give them a zero star rating.

Hello, I want to apologize for your customer service experience. I want to confirm that all agents who contacted you via chat, tickets, email, or phone are real people, and we do not use AI or bots. I've also reviewed the conversation, and as we indicated, we don't allow multiple free accounts per customer according to our terms of use, but you can use paid accounts if you need multiple accounts. Unjust account closure and miscommunication at Mailrelay

I hired Mailrelay's service for my company, and while I was using it to send emails to my users, they suddenly closed my account without even notifying me.

The lack of prior notice or an opportunity to clarify this misunderstanding is concerning. Suddenly the email didn't work and I could not log in anymore into the account.

I wrote a message to the customer support team, and they said that they closed my account because:

> The email is attempting to trick the recipient into clicking on a malicious link by impersonating a legitimate service: [my company's name].

So the reason, literally, is that I was impersonating my own company. That's why they simply closed my account. It's outrageous. This accusation is not only unfounded but also ironic.

Businesses rely heavily on email communication, and such abrupt service termination can have serious repercussions. Therefore, I cannot recommend Mailrelay to anyone. I am switching to Brevo, who seem more trustworthy.

We very much regret the experience you have had with mailrelay. We strive every day to ensure that each client has a good experience with us.

Unfortunately, in these types of situations, and when one or more blacklists contact us requesting elimination by SCAM, the law requires us to act immediately.

We would have liked very much to be able to reach a good conclusion with you and try to clarify it in the best possible way as we have tried by email.

If you need additional information about the case, you can contact us and we will be happy to help you.

This Company is ridiculous.

This Company is ridiculous.
I am attempting to add functionality, including Newsletters to a Client Website that is being developed. Of course the Website isn't live.
The Agent, Silvia, reckons that the Website should be production ready and live, before they are willing to register my account. You are pathetic.

Hello, I apologize in advance for the experience you have had with Mailrelay. Unfortunately, it is very important to have an active website before you can send newsletters. You can configure the account, create forms, landing pages and whatever you need, but for security reasons, you cannot send newsletters until you have a published website since the deliverability will be very poor and we do not want to offer bad customer service. However, we are happy to find a solution to your case. You can contact us to advise you on the best practices for using your Mailrelay account.

Really dirty server IP addresses

Signed up to test the free service before I committed to their paid service.

The first test email was marked as spam by spam Assassin and went into the junk folder. On investigating It turned out the IP address that Mailrelay used to send through was banned on two lists.

I wrote to the company and let them know and asked to be assigned to a clean IP. They responded back that the IP's dynamically change by themselves.

The following day I sent another test, again it was marked as spam and dropped into the junk folder. When I checked the quality of the IP this time, it was on 3 ban lists, so the situation was even worse!

It seems they dynamically assign the IP from a pool and so far 2 tests have appeared on 5 IP ban lists. that is 100% failure so far for us!

So the conclusion is the IP pool is very dirty and the chances of your emails actually getting though to inbox and not junk folder is looking very low.

You might get one of the clean IPs and everything goes though, but you could also get one of the banned ones and few get through.

We are concerned that this could hurt our sending reputation and get us banned too, so we are not going to use this service.

5th November 2023 - Response to Mailrelay's Comment.

I can't tell you the account as you permanently banned it shortly after my review! Because of "security reasons" you refused to tell me why you had done this.

Over the space of the 3 weeks I tried your services, I sent a total of 25 emails from myself to myself so I could make sure everything was working correctly.

I was puzzled why zero emails hit the inbox of the recipients. 100% went into the junk folder. After investigating the email headers we found the 2 IP addresses that you had used to send our test emails we on 5 banned lists.

However, this was not the first time you banned my account!

You banned me within a couple of days of signing up, and when I appealed it turned out you had included me with an account who abused your services.

I had send less than 10 emails to my own email boxes while I was setting the account up. Upon appeal, you did reinstate the account, but I then discovered how dirty your IP pool was at the time and tried to resolve the issue. The rest of the timeline is covered in the original review.

Hello Julia.

Can you tell me your Mailrelay account so that the support department can review the case specifically? Mailrelay uses shared IPs, but we review them daily and have agreements with ISPs as well as with retunpath to prevent IPs from falling on blacklists. It is possible that this will happen if the quality of your database is very low or if you send SPAM, if this is not the case it is very unlikely that this will happen.

Piece Of Trash - Illegal To Send Emails From These Clowns Software

Piece Of Trash

Do You Like Loosing Lots of MONEY is Your Time Worthless, if So You should get a MailRelay Account Now. They are Experts at wasting your time and laughing while they take measures to ensure you lose money.

Clown School is what they should have called it, they're to busy spamming the internet with useless crap than to take the time and fix their software and write proper instructions for their own software.

You can't legally send email from MailRelay anyway they don't allow you to insert the Required information in to the email templates footers!!
