Just called about my Herman Miller ($750) chair that I've had for 2 years. Madisonseating.com says it has a 10 year warranty on the products. The mechanism that raises and lowers the chair just failed... See more

As they promised they shipped my chair…
As they promised they shipped my chair in 14 business days. The chair packaging was good and I received the chair in about a week after that. I had some issues with chair mechanical which they are very responsive in email. The asked me to put a positive review...
When I received the chair
When I received the chair, I noticed that sitting in it, I felt like it was tilting to the right. I used a level and found that the chair tilted to the right.
I contacted Madison Seating; they were very responsive, accommodating, and courteous. Madison Seating replaced the chair.
If I need an additional chair, I will contact Madison Seating again.
Received defective product, now they want $600
I purchased a Herman Miller for over $500. When I received it, a part was broken so the chair couldn't recline. I asked them to repair it (I have a 10 year warranty on it) and I was told I would need to pay both a $495 shipping fee + a $95 restocking fee.
I emailed their customer service team repeatedly, and they said, verbatim," We are not a shipping company," as to why the buyer was responsible for the shipping of a defective product.
They didn't ship my order
They didn't ship my order, then charged me 5% for cancelling (for fear it was a scam). I don't trust them, and would not recommend them.
Madisonseating sold me a fraudulent Humanscale chair
I mistakenly bought a fraudulent Humanscale chair from Madison Seating to replace a Humanscale chair that I’ve owned for 15 years. Madison Seating advertised the chair as as “open box,” which I understand to mean that it is a new, original manufacturer's product.
Within a month, the plastic on the left armrest cracked. This of course seemed extraordinarily strange for a new Humanscale product. I contacted Madison Seating who offered to send me replacement armrest for $19.99, which seemed outrageous but I paid for it rather than return the chair, which I knew would cost me far more.
When the armrest arrived, I compared it with the armrest on the Humanscale chair I was replacing and realized that the one Madison Seating sent was completely different. I researched Madison Seating further and learned they have a history of misrepresenting the products they sell. See here for Better Business Bureau complaints against them; here for Reviews.io; here for complaints on Reddit; here for Herman Miller’s 2015 lawsuit against them.
I will never buy another chair from Madison Seating because I can't trust that what they're advertising is what they're selling. It appears that, unfortunately, I’m in good company.

Very responsive to emails
Ordered a chair for the office before the holidays we had some issues with assembly. The company was very responsive in sending videos explaining how to fix the issue. Once that was resolved we noticed a factory defect in the chair, again within moments of emailing pictures the company responded and we are awaiting the replacement. The response time has been impressive to say the least.
Ok so I read reviews here and was…
Ok so I read reviews here and was exploring different directions, but I found that full retail price is a HUGE difference, and so this was worth taking a chance. I also discovered on Ebay that the reviews there were MUCH more positive, and they have a very high seller rating there, so I felt even better about the gamble.
Bottom line is I just received the Aeron chair I purchased and am as happy as could be. I know from research that these chairs are either barely used or refurbished, but in either case they are cleaned-up nicely and if refurbished the replacement parts are pretty quality. For my part, this is a great deal on such an awesome product (Herman Miller Aeron), and am thankful to have this option as the full-price option would be a much bigger investment - and while that investment is worth it, and something I could afford if I want to, this was an excellent deal.
I should add that I purchased through a similar route about 12 years ago, and that's how long my previous chair lasted (the seat pad finally got wore down). I could have repaired my old chair but the price difference was less than $200 so I figured I will get a much newer chair/parts for that dollar amount. I'm very happy about my decision.
One last thing - keep in mind that returns are difficult for any business to handle, as are many people. There are people who are downright dishonest cheats, and others who are simply miserable and like to make things difficult. I'm not saying that absolves Madison for any/all issues with their return process, but I think there is some perspective to be had. If you're paying 5 to 6 hundred bucks on a chair that retails for over 3 times as much, and you expect it to last a lifetime or to go back to Madison years later and have them pay for expensive shipping and provide a whole new chair, I just don't think that's very realistic. HM can afford to provide this kind of coverage because of the retail price, but for Madison they are more relying on the chair's amazing quality and that most people will be happy with a lifespan of 10 years or more. That's just my take.
Responsive and Helpful
The customer service department at Madison Seating has been responsive, polite and helpful with my questions and concerns. I am looking forward to enjoying my new chair for years to come!
Excellent quality & service
This was my first order from Madisonseating. I ordered a "New - Open Box" Steelcase Leap V2 office chair. When it arrived I noticed it was in new condition... except one arm connecting to the spine was completely broken, making the lumbar adjustment not usable.
When I contacted Madisonseating about this issue they quickly resolved it by sending me a new chair. Now that's customer service!
Compared to other businesses I can't think of any other time this has happened to a product, or close to the value of said product. Madisonseating does care about their customers, and this proves that they do.
Very Pleased with Madison Seating
I have ordered 3 chairs from Madison Seating (two Herman Millers and 1 Leap V2). Thus far, I've been very satisfied by the high quality of the products delivered and the promptness of the customer support.

Had an issue with shipping and Madison Seating took care of it. Great customer service!
I have ordered 8-10 chairs from Madison…
I have ordered 8-10 chairs from Madison seating, including two Herman Miller Remastered and 6-8 Leap V2's. They provide these chairs at a great value.
All except one arrived in excellent condition, and they quickly resolved the chair that was damaged during shipping.
Quick Cust Serv response & resolution
TL:DR Madison customer service was quick to respond to an issue with a chair I ordered, and we came to a good resolution to the problem. 5-star resolution was achieved.
I ordered a new office chair from Madison Seating. In just a couple weeks' time, the chair showed some defects in the upholstery which were likely to keep getting worse. We discussed possible resolutions to the problem and they ended up taking care of everything in a great way. It was a 5-star resolution from Madison after the frustration of my new (and otherwise great) chair having an issue.
After receiving three broken chairs I'm…
After receiving three broken chairs I'm officially giving up. This company refurbishes office chairs cheaply and poorly. I received two chairs broken and promising to delete my 1 star review they agreed to send a good chair. Chair is cheaply reupholstered (the dye is coming off on my hands and there are gaps in the plastic) and the lift doesn't function but it's not broken on arrival (which they swear is the shipping company and not them 🙄). So good thing I'm 3 feet tall 😩 cause this chair isn't rising up or down. This chair will follow it's siblings into the trashcan. Madison seating refuses to give a refund. So I'm out $400 and a hours of wasted time. Don't do it!!!! Runnnnn
If it seems too good to be true it is
If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Such is the case with Madison Seating. Thought I'd be getting a good deal on a Herman Miller chair. This company hides fees in fine print in TOS and does not disclose them on the pre-purchase agreement or in order summary. Instead, they leave you hanging until you get tired and cancel your order at which point they promptly refund less 5% even when they did nothing. They sell stuff is that is all used or open box anyways so restock (non-new condition) fee shouldn't apply. This company plays the long game of ripping people off.
Madison Seating provided excellent…
I bought a Hawerth Zody chair from Madison Seating, which had a slight issue. However, they provided prompt and excellent customer service, swiftly resolving my issue. Highly recommended! 👍
Chair broke, they dont care
Got a chair from them, was cheaper than other places, but apparently that is because they are open box products and may have parts replaced with non-OEM substitutes. My Herman Miller Aeron chair broke 4 months after I got it...this in comparison to one I bought from a reputable retailer that Ive had for 5+ years with no issues. I reached out, they do not provide support for broken products
Happy with my chair and customer support
I ordered an open box Steelcase chair for a very fair price. Shipping was crazy fast-- I received it 2 days after placing the order. It did arrive damaged, but customer support responded to me right away and resolved the issue. They are now sending me a new chair free of charge, no hassle to me.
Great service
The price for the chair I order was the best I could find through an exhaustive search. The chair arrived ahead of schedule . There was an issue with the chair when it arrived. I wrote one email with a picture and the issue was resolved within an Hour! This company says that Service is their top priority and I believe them.
Warning about customer service.
I have a strong suspicision that this company has shady customer service because they try to blame the customer for their mistakes. I would not expect any type of good customer service from this company. If you run into any kind of issue, don't expect them to be on your side. I haven't come across a company having this bad of customer service in a very long time...extremely disappointed.
