Just called about my Herman Miller ($750) chair that I've had for 2 years. Madisonseating.com says it has a 10 year warranty on the products. The mechanism that raises and lowers the chair just failed... See more

Great customer service
Their customer service is great! I received a beautiful dark blue Leap V2, but unfortunately one part of the plastic was broken in an un-repairable way. I'm not sure if this was due to shipping or not.
After emailing them, I received a reply within an hour with a couple of options. After a few emails they have a replacement chair in the mail and ready to go!
While I did receive a damaged product, they have made a great attempt to remedy the situation very quickly which I appreciate. Besides the broken part, the chair is actually very beautiful and clean. Looks brand new. If my replacement looks as good as this one, then I'll be absolutely thrilled!
A++ Customer Service
Excellent Customer Service!
Madison Seating goes above and beyond to ensure their customers are satisfied. They were extremely responsive to any questions and concerns I had about their chairs both before my purchase and after I received it. I am happy with how everything turned out. This company’s dedication to ensuring customer satisfaction should be the standard for all companies these days.
We bought 2 office chairs and one chair…
We bought 2 office chairs and one chair came damaged from shipping. They asked for pictures. Once those were sent they told me to keep the damaged chair and they would ship out a new one. Unfortunately the damaged chair is in the trash but they were easy to work with and a new chair is on the way.
Company stands by its products
Company stands by its products. Bought an Aeron chair several years ago and it was great. Recently bought a Steelcase Leap V2. I had a problem with the chair and they quickly responded to my concerns and are in the process of rectifying the matter. I would recommend them if you are looking for a refurbished chair.
Overall a pleasant company to work…
Overall a pleasant company to work with, I have run into an issue with my purchased product. However after reaching out to Customer Service with Annie, I'm finding myself with a new company that I look forward to working with again. With quick resolution and responses I have no complaints.
It's nice to find a company that can offer honest pricing as well.
This is simply a PSA announcement and…
This is simply a PSA announcement and based off a recent conversation via email with this company. I purchased an office chair in 2019 with a 10 year warranty. The hydraulic shaft blew a gasket resulting in the chair bottoming out to the lowest position. I will preface this that the website does disclose all of the chairs are open box, used or refurbished. The warranty is written as being exclusive to Madison Seating. The only way to communicate with Madison Seating is via email. I explained my situation via email and received an immediate response stating the chair must be shipped back at my expense and shipping back to me will be $95. Spending $522 dollars on a chair and then spending upwards of $200 for shipping on what appeared to be a good warranty is no longer looking like a good deal. Read the warranty details before purchasing from this company. I asked if they could send me the shaft and I would replace it myself...this is where the problem lies. My options were paying the shipping charges or I would have to pay for the shaft at what they claim is their cost of $79.99. I was very frustrated and stated I was going to post negative reviews on social media. I sent the email from my work account and this was their response..."Any escalation of this matter to social media will force us to do the same about you and your company." I purchased the chair personally, not my company. Do your due diligence, check reviews and read all of the fine print. I could have purchased a new Herman Miller chair based on what I paid and warranty return shipping charges. Consider buying direct from Herman Miller, they have numerous repair facilities which won't require shipping charges and in some cases, come out to the home to repair. In my opinion, Madison Seating's warranty is another way of generating revenue, DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Chair Broke After 5 Months
The pneumatic cylinder on my Herman Miller Aeron snapped in half when I sat on it today. This is just after 5 months of getting the chair from Madison Seating. I reached out to customer service and they want me to ship the ENTIRE chair to them in New Jersey and pay for shipping both ways. They will not send me a new cylinder.
Shady company - anti-consumer
Do not purchase with this company and do not trust the reviews on their website. They must delete negative reviews as other websites tell a very different story. I’ve also seen people on Reddit claim that their replacement merchandise (after recieving broken chairs) was held hostage in lieu of a 5 star review on trust pilot.
I placed an order at the beginning of t 2023 then attempted to cancel it 8 days later after receiving no updates on a shipment. They emailed me back to say they were closed for a religious holiday and would not be reopening for another 6 days, and I should email then. This was a non automated message so I don’t understand why I had to to email a second time, other than to stall. When I emailed the second time it had been 12 business days since I placed my order (6 full days since I last emailed), so I should have received a shipping notice as they promise delivery within 10 to 14 business days. They cancelled my order and told me to expect a refund within 12 to 48 hours and attached my invoice to this email with my full purchase price. However, when I received the refund it was for a lesser amount - not the full purchase. I emailed to inquire and they told me they charge a 5% cancellation fee, buried in the fine print of their return/refund policy on the website. This is unethical. The chair had not been shipped or prepped for shipping or I would have received notice. Rather than deal with this company I chose to purchase directly from Herman Miller and am very happy with my decision.
Excellent value! Great chairs, great prices.
Excellent products, great prices, and I received the chairs nicely boxed within a short time of ordering.
I have now ordered two Herman Miller Aeron chairs from here and each time the experience was great. These are also the best chairs ever. I will never buy anything else.
We had two chairs that came in damaged…
We had two chairs that came in damaged (this happened during delivery) and i reach out to Madison letting them know. They responded promptly letting us know we could keep/dispose of the damaged chairs and they would send us new ones.
The caster on the chair was damaged…
The caster on the chair was damaged during shipment. I was told by customer service ar Madison Seating to find another place for my seating needs because I wasn't interested in disassembling the damaged caster and reassembling the chair with different caster.
I recently had 2 spine surgeries in the last 10 weeks and was looking forward to getting this chair. Because I'm not willing or able to replace this part they told me to go shop somewhere else. This is their official email reply:
"Please initiate a return request with Ebay. This return will be for refund only as we will be unable to send additional shipments moving forward.
We ask that you find another vendor to fulfill your office chair needs.
Have a great weekend.
Customer Care,"
I'm at a loss on how to respond. :(
UPDATE POST MADISON'S REPLY:
The chair arrived with a damaged base NOT caster. My fault for not using the correct name of the part in my op. The base had broken through the box and been drug across something very rough, the damage was about a 2x1 inch scuff mark. Images were sent via Ebay, and email meanwhile Madison offered paint. I said no. They said return the chair for a refund and buy your next chair from someone else. Terrible customer service. Either I accept your damaged chair or I can never shop with you again. What a complete moronic way to treat a customer. Your employees clearly can't secure a 50 lbs chair inside a cardbox very well. Not really great at properly resolving customer issues either.
This is a loss for Madison Seating. 1st the obvious, they paid for shipping 2x. 2nd customer LTV (lifetime value).
All could have been resolved with a phone call, but since it's purchased from Ebay Madison staff says you can only communicate with them via Ebay. Besides calling them directly, I also reached out via email but got the same curt response.
Note to Madison, talk to your customers not matter where they buy your products from. Also, try and use Styrofoam inside your boxes for larger parts like the base of the chair. It seems you have recent comments her on TP stating the same thing. And secondly, treat customers better when you (Madison) make a mistake. Remember, refurbished doesn't mean damaged. Lastly, your company is not the only vendor in town selling refurbished chairs. I'll gladly take my business elsewhere. May I wish you an abundance of returns!

Misrepresented Condition & Rude Customer Service
I purchased a Herman Miller Aeron chair from them on eBay. They listed the item as "New - Open Box". When I received the chair there were obvious signs of wear on the armrests which show it was actually used NOT new and some significant scratching on the wheelbase exposing bare metal instead of the nice black powder coated surface, presumably from it rolling around and scratching up against desk legs or other hard surfaces.
I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe they accidentally grabbed from the used stock instead of the open box stock when fulfilling my order. When I contacted them they were rude, unprofessional, and blamed me for "misunderstanding" the condition. I don't know how they get such positive reviews that say they make right on any problems that do occur because they clearly don't. Of course it seems they have someone at ebay who is willing to just delete any critical reviews because mine was removed even though it was 100% accurate. In fact I also noticed another negative review on ebay that was up one moment and when I reloaded an hour or 2 later was gone too.
When looking at other purchasing options I noticed a trend. All the listings for New and New - Open Box chairs that had the lowest price were theirs. In fact their "new" prices were more in line with other sellers "used" prices.
Thus I can conclude the following, they are clearly and intentionally misrepresenting the condition. They are taking Used chairs, selling them for Used prices, but tagging the condition as New - Open Box. That way when someone is searching for a new chair they show as the lowest price. They are horribly dishonest as well as rude and disrespectful.
However, based on this discovery I have decided to keep the chair as the prices for "New" chairs from other sellers are much higher. But that does not excuse their misrepresentations or their rudeness - and I will NEVER do business with them ever again as a result!
UPDATE 3/6: They just have to keep digging a hole for themselves. Trustpilot emailed me saying the seller said I reviewed the wrong company. Unless the ebay seller madisonseating who lists your website in their profile and uses your boxes with your name and phone number and your address as the return address is impersonating you....then no this review is for the correct company. And the kicker is they responded to this review confirming they are that ebay seller....so they're just playing games. Further proof of their dishonesty. They can say it's in working condition but they didn't describe the condition as used or merely working they described it as NEW! Which it clearly is not! And whether I choose to return it or keep it dies not change the fact they said it was new Open Box when it was clearly used, a deceptive and dishonest business practice. It would not have been a problem of they were honest about the condition in the listing and advertised it for what it is used but functional.

I recently ordered eleven Leap V2…
I recently ordered eleven Leap V2 chairs for our office. One arrived broken and the customer service has been excellent. They quickly replied to my email and offered to send me a replacement. The best part is they are not making me box up the broken chair and send it back, which is a huge relief to me. Thank you for the great customer service and making this right!
good customer service
I recently purchased a chair, and the chair arrived broken. Customer service is great, offered a replacement without needing to return the broken one. I'm just glad I don't have to repack that big box and ship it. They are really thinking about customer needs.
steelseries leap v2
Madisonseating sent me a steelseries leap v2. It arrived with a broken back support. After exchanging emails with their customer service they offered to send me a new chair and let me keep the original one for no additional cost. They seem to be willing to go the extra mile to satisfy their customers.
Knoll Re-Generation
Received a Knoll Re-Generation chair with a cracked arm. Asked for a replacement part, and they instead offered to send a new chair instead with no need to return the old one. CS was also very responsive.
***SCAM ALERT**** Madison seating is…
***SCAM ALERT**** Madison seating is not a reputable company -they shipped me a chair that literally fell apart when I removed it from the box. They refuse to make good on the item and customer service has basically been abusive. I’ve reported them to BBB and Consumer Affairs. Not sure what’s going on here but buyer beware!

Knoll Re-Generation
I ordered a Knoll chair from here. It arrived with a broken part but Madison Seating customer service was able to take care of the issue.
Responsive and helpful customer service
I recently purchased a chair from Madison Seating. I received a broken unit and contacted them the day of receipt. This was after hours on Friday, and the automated email I received said I would be contacted on Monday. Monday came and I did not receive an email, however Monday was MLK Day and I assume that they were observing the holiday. On Tuesday, I received an a email stating that they would send out a new item and allow me to keep the broken unit as well. Given how hard it is to return a large chair (including the process of taking it apart which requires a pipe wrench), this is much appreciated. I will update this review with information about the new chair when I receive it!
Steelcase Leap v2 chair
Steelcase Leap v2 chair, came broken.
Instead of having customer to repackage the chair and wait for it to send back for a replacement. The company simply send us a new chair.
