Avoid this company at all costs

Started off great with communication and keeping us up to date with installation dates etc, after a lengthy delay they were finally installed between the 13th and 22nd January 2025 but that's where the problems started

Firstly I asked for ovolo profile which I noticed when they were delivered was what I had got, unfortunately only on the inside the outside of the window frames were shamfered, they said I hadn't specified and I couldn't find it on the order acknowledgement so I let it go

Secondly only half if the job had been delivered and I had booked time off work to be there for the install, they weren't bothered at all that I had to stand to to 3 further days off of work to let them finish the job

Once finished I had problems with gaps around the windows and a large gap in the patio doors I complained and got a very rude response back saying if I didn't pay up they were going to add on charges for the delay in payment.

We have just now this weekend (Oct) decorated the living room around the bay windows the installed and found that they not used any expansion foam between the window frames and wall and after removing a small piece of pvc strip I can see daylight from the outside

In an email response from them when I had complained about the shoddy work and the issue around the wrong window frames being installed I was told I should be more appreciative seeing as I had gotten a very good price for the windows even though I hadn't asked them at all to beat any quotes

Finally after numerous emails and calls over the last 10 months asking for the certificate of completion I have not received anything from them at all even though their fitters are apparently Fensa approved

I wouldn't recommend at all

Worst Experience Ever!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

We used MacLaren to install a new set of French Doors.

Aggressive office team, the fitter also chasing final payment as he said MacLaren hadn’t paid him and it was Christmas and he needed the money, and they had the cheek to offer us £100 to leave a good review on here. I now question the validity of their 5 star reviews.

The finish was shocking, we have had to pay another company to correct what they did.

One of the worst experiences I have…

One of the worst experiences I have ever come across. Do not trust this company at all. The workmanship is shoddy and very unprofessional. Our windows still need attention. The sales guy is a fraud as well as the company.

Their absolutely disgusting people


Their absolutely disgusting people been trying to get in touch with josh and ross at maclaren windows now for over 3 month . because I've a few slight problems with the windows and nobody ever answers a phone or sends email back.they take your money and run .I've a gap on my patio doors which is letting a cold draft through but nobody to help come and adjust the problem .money grabbers and run.

Everything they could have they did badly.

Everything they could have done badly they did and then tried to intimate me into paying saying I'd signed paperwork.

I am already having to replace sealant and plastics 4 months later !

Company gone into liquidization

My mum was meant to be having her windows done April 2025, paid over £600 deposit, was hassled to pay more thank god she didn't, she received a letter today saying they have gone into liquidization, absolute SCAMMERS AND ROBBERS !!!!!!!!

Company director should be held accountable Mr J Parkin for such atrocious business behaviour.

I am now delighted that people are seeing this company for what it is totally scammers they will not answer your calls or meet you in person I have even tried going to office. I’ll keep trying until I succeed in meeting with Josh about money owed to me . Please keep away from this company at all cost

DO NOT USE THESE ROBBERS! EXTREMELY NICE TO YOU UNTIL YOU PART WITH YOUR MONEY, THEN THEY BOOK FAKE INSTALLATION DATES IN AND NEVER SHOW UP AND STOP RESPONDING TO YOU! LUCKILY, MY BANK HAS JUST REFUNDED ME TODAY MY FULL AMOUNT PAID TO THESE SCAM ARTISTS 3 MONTHS AGO!!!

Since putting the last review the company emailed to say they was dealing with the matter wanting me to remove the review I have not spoken to the director Josh Parkin at all and all my emails from last week are being ignored I have been treated disgusting and they was aware I am going through chemotherapy for cancer request for full refund requested to anyone going to use this company DONT they have taken all my savings SCAM company AVOID- further to my review still no communication no emails or refund of my money absolutely disgusting company over £6000 stolen from me

We recently had windows and doors…

We recently had windows and doors fitted to our bungalow. There were some delays but we were kept upto date.
The front door had been catching and was hard to use , after one phone call they arranged someone to come out and it was fixed in no time. So I was happy with that.

Just had a full house of windows and…

Just had a full house of windows and doors fitted by these guys. The fitter worked sat and till late Sunday alone to get the work done. Lovely lad, fitted immaculate, cleaned up and just work hard. House now has many compliments from the neighbours how smart the house now looks and house is so much warmer. Would recommend to many. Thanks josh and team

Disappointing Experience with Maclaren Windows – Rushed Payment Demands and Installation Concerns

Our experience with Maclaren Windows began on a positive note, thanks to a personable salesperson who convinced us to try replacing a single set of bay windows at a cost of £3,800. Fortunately, we decided against using them for the entire house, as this trial run has raised significant doubts about their service quality.

No sooner had the windows been installed on September 11 than Maclaren’s payment department called, insisting on immediate final payment. We hadn’t even had a chance to inspect the work. My husband, who was in the middle of a work meeting, explained that we needed time for a proper review, especially since I was unwell. Nonetheless, the payment representative was insistent, disregarding our situation entirely.

Despite feeling unwell, I had to get out of bed to do a quick inspection, while my husband remained tied to his commitments. Later, when a representative from a different company came to discuss the remaining windows, he noted potential issues with Maclaren’s installation—a worrying discovery that only reinforced our concerns.

In retrospect, we’re relieved we didn’t commit to the entire house with Maclaren. The high-pressure tactics and lack of customer care left us deeply disappointed, and we’re glad to have the chance to compare their work against a more considerate provider.

In response to MacLaren's message, I'd like to share images of the finished work with you or here on Trustpilot if I'm allowed to. These images show rough edges, crooked screws, gaps left unfilled, poor finishing, and lack of attention to detail. As I mentioned, in hindsight, I’m glad I chose another company to install the windows for the rest of the property instead of MacLaren Windows.

Dear Mrs Ibegbulem,

We regret that you have chosen to leave this review. Particularly since your installation was completed and signed off by yourself (we cannot attach this for data protection reasons) on the 12th of September - over 2 months ago.

As part of our standard procedure, we make clear our installation completion process in our pre-install email advice. This details that upon completion, our installers will take you through the items they have installed to ensure you are fully satisfied and to demonstrate how each item works. Upon completion of this, we ask that you sign off the install on our Installation Sign Off document, which you duly did.

Once we have completed the above action, the installers are instructed to submit this document to the office via a mobile scan facility. At this point, our administrative team will call to arrange the final payment to ensure that we can administer your installation with our regulator - Certass (Membership Number - 24-1261), and ensure your 10-year warranty is registered with our provider.

In this instance, we have firstly made you aware of our procedure pertaining to installation completion and your respective approval of the works we have carried out. We have in respect of this executed that procedure exactly as we have advised and only requested our final balance, after the point at which you have given your signed satisfaction of our work.

In relation to the installation we have carried out - we invite you to a full and detailed audit of the work we have carried by our independent UKAS approved regulator - Certass. Which we would politely point out, is a qualified independent assessment of the work we have undertaken, in stark contrast to the impartiality of a sales representative working for a competitor business.
