Me and my family had the most amazing time at Mackney Photography. Everyone that works there are so welcoming and made us all feel comfortable.

Lovely experience from start to finish, looking forward to receiving our prints!

We visited Mackney Photography with our then 16 week old baby (and our one year old sausage dog)! The studio was beautiful, all staff were super friendly and we loved every second of our photoshoot experience! Our photographer was fab with our little boy and even managed to get our pup involved in the photos too!

Our viewing appointment was so special and we fell in love with every single photo! A very talented team and we can’t wait to receive our prints! Thank you all x

This is my sixth time coming to Mackney and I'd never go anywhere else. This time was for my 5 month old son Tommy to have his baby of the year shoot. It was our first time with Beth and she put real thought into the scenes and props to keep with our newborn photoshoots a few months back.

The viewing session made my face ache from smiling so much but even though it was our sixth session, Wendy still walked us through every step and made sure we got as many photos we could within our budget.

Thank you so much for another amazing experience for me and my family, I can't wait to collect the finished products!

I was one of the competition winners for the boudoir shoot!
I was greeted straight away and there was such a friendly atmosphere !
Natalie did my make up and checked with me throughout about what I wanted, what colours I usually wore and what I wanted.

Simon who did the shoot allowed me to be confident and guided me through the shoot. He checked what I was comftorable with and what I wasn’t comfortable with and made me really enjoy the experience!

If your thinking about doing it go for it!
You can wear a gown into the shoot if you wish or not! You can do poses which your comfortable with and wear what you’d like to. Your ideas are welcome too, or if you like to be guided you can also do that!

Terrible experience

What you should know:

There are hidden fees - The price of the photo packages aren’t revealed until after your photoshoot, during the ‘viewing appointment’. The highest package is 10,000- yes ten thousand pounds!

You have to decide there and then at the viewing appointment which pictures to buy otherwise you’re told they will be deleted. OR you can pay around £150 for another viewing appointment.

You can’t buy digital copies and print elsewhere. The pictures are locked at 6x4 and they make you sign a waiver to say that if you try and blow them up, you understand they’ll be pixalated. Again forcing you to buy their blown up version as you can’t go elsewhere.

You don’t get sent ‘proof’ images to go away and view and decide in your own time which ones you would like to buy. You get a viewing appointment and have to buy then. It feels very pressured.

They will keep your deposit if you reschedule either your shoot or viewing appointment more than once. They add any cancellation as one occurrence and will keep adding so even if you reschedule two difference things they will still penalise you.

The staff are ok until it comes to the viewing appointment and getting your deposit back then they are quite rude.

We paid nearly £900 for our photos plus the shoot itself so the best part of £1000 altogether and they didn’t give us back our £35 deposit. As a family run business they should care about treating other families who support them better.

The pictures are nice, but honestly you could get cheaper elsewhere.

We took our 3 month old for a photoshoot and we absolutely loved it. All the staff were so welcoming and friendly and the shoot itself was relaxed and we had fun doing it. The photos were so beautiful, it was hard to narrow down the choices to have printed! The prints were ready in time for Christmas and were fantastic quality. Would recommend to others and hope to go back in future

I entered a competition to win a boudoir photoshoot via Facebook, not truly believing that I would be in with a chance of winning. However, I was promptly contacted to be informed that I had won the boudoir photoshoot experience, with all the details clearly layed out.
The team was in touch before the date of the photoshoot to confirm the booking, discuss advice for the day in regards to how to prepare and consider outfits.
On the day, I was nervous due to having never done anything like this before and lacking in self-confidence a bit; however, as soon as I arrived at the studios, the enviornment and team was so warm and welcoming. Simon came over to introduce himself and explain how it would work, he took the time to ask if I had any ideas about what style photos I may want and was helpful and encouraging when I stated I was unsure.
Natalie did my makeup and hair; she was friendly and chatty throughout, and again took time to ask what sort of look I wanted and also offered advice and encouragement. Natalie helped to reassure and ease any last minute jitters.
Simon was the photographer was took my shots; he guided me through poses, and really encouraged me throughout and made me feel confident so quickly. You don't have to worry if you are nervous about not knowing how to pose as he gives little tips or demonstrates if you are unsure. I found myself laughing and enjoying the process in no time at all.

The viewing experience was lovely. I thought I would find it strange seeing myself on a big screen, and was ready to hate all the photos as I normally do. However the teams experience and passion for their work is visible in the photos. The confidence they installed in me during the experience was also evident and the photos were truly stunning. As part of the competition, I would receive a signed desk frame with an image of my choice, however I also purchased additional pieces due to loving the photos. I am so excited for when I receive these.

I would absolutely recommended Mackney Photographs. Although I personally did the boudoir shoot, their studio (and website/social media) displays images from a variety of their experiences, including family portraits, which I will highly consider for myself in the future.

Edit: I have now picked up my order. At the time of purchase they advise a 10 week wait, however mine was ready to collect more promptly than this which was great. On collection I was able to view everything in the order and make sure everything was correct etc. The images are perfect and the quality looks wonderful. Thank you to the whole team. If you have the opportunity to do a photoshoot with Mackney Photography, I would truly recommend them.

The team at Mackney made the experience so calm and fun! they were so patient and attentive with my little one and we got some beautiful photos even if she did cry for most of it! Would 100% recommend

It’s was so relaxed from start to finish. They allowed us time to settle our baby when he was a little grumpy, allowing us to get the best time out of shoot and lovely photos! The viewing appointment afterwards was lovely, a cosy little cinema room and beautiful music with a super fast turn around too, really great!

We were in contact with Mackney to complete an order from a former photo studio. All communications were prompt and helpful. We received our images very quickly on digital file and have since made some beautiful gifts with them. Thank you.

Everyone is so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The Photographer was all round amazing, helping you to feel comfortable to achieve the look you want with your photos. Stunning building. All round great experience with no pushiness to purchase.

The staff we were very welcoming and made the shoot so easy. My little girl loved it and did nothing but smile. Was offered tea,coffee. Made to feel at home. Nothing was rushed.
