Terrible booking system

Terrible booking system. We created an online account with LTA and then tried to book a court in Ashurst Wood. The booking system got stuck when asking for our address then not allowing us to pay online. My husband even drove to the court and asked some players how they managed to get onto the system to book. One man said he had to do it through a friend, however one of the other men on the court was very unfriendly and rude suggesting to my husband when he asked if he could pay one of the players to book for him that he was doing something illegal!?! And then telling him to go and book a court elsewhere in Hartfield. Not encouraging at all for a family who simply wish to play tennis at their local court. 😡

Such a gift to the communities

Such a gift to the communities - thank you.
Just the app. It’s near impossible to book through it. Put in your postcode - and - even though we can see the tennis court - the one we need isn’t listed. When the clocks changed, the times on the door locks didn’t so they were all an hour out. Website slow - almost unworkable.

Absolutely rubbish app

Absolutely rubbish app. No matter how many times I try to book a court this week, the error occurred as that I have riched my maximum slots for the week. Despite I haven't used any slots this week so the app keeps given me this message. Just so inoing. Very disappointed from club spark....

What a dreadful website

What a dreadful website. As many others have said below (without response from the LTA), terrible booking system that frequently crashes. Not for the first time, I am unable to book our local courts to play with my son (error code 500..), there is no one I can call, and no one who can solve the problem, the support centre just takes you to a list of FAQs. The courts often stand empty. So much for encouraging tennis, quite the opposite. Why can't public courts be left to local councils to run.

Refund protection not worth bothering with

I bought tickets to one of this year's major tennis events and decided to pay extra for refund protection because of the high cost & need to travel. Unfortunately, my mother was unwell and couldn't attend but the 'Secure Refunds' organisation have presented numerous hurdles to applying for a refund.
I would have preferred to return the tickets for resale as soon as I was aware I couldn't attend (the day before) but there is no option to do this either. Everyone loses & seats stay empty.

Not taking booking issues seriously

Turns out this is how seriously the LTA are taking the booking issues people are raising here - pathetic response “We appreciate that at present some customers are having issues when booking through Play, we understand that this is frustrating for these select individuals. When we look at the overall number of bookings to failed bookings we see that the vast majority of people are able to book courts successfully. “

I would give less than 1 star if…

I would give less than 1 star if possible. My local court used to be free and in great condition, now it costs money and is in horrific condition. Paid for a different local court which was in better condition and it had no nets! Disgusting company creating a monopoly on tennis.

Like others have said..

Like others have said, also received "Error Code: 500", this is the company that took over the booking system from Greenwich Council. Why? The Greenwich system actually worked. Now, booking tennis courts is a game of chance as to whether you will be successful in doing so. Have tried multiple browsers, multiple times, definitely a problem on their end. Considering how many other people have experienced this, I'd have expected this to be resolved by now.

Worst service I've ever experienced

Worst service I've ever experienced.

Signed up for a tennis program, When I tried to cancel during the subcritption process my emails were consistently ignored.

The online chat I virtually never online or available.

Still no resolution.

E-ticket app doesn't work but no way to contact LTA

A week and a half until we're due to go to the Cinch Championships but our tickets aren't showing in the LTA app and we haven't received any email saying they're ready. The LTA website implies they should have been pushed to the app in May. We've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app, all to no avail. LTA gives no way for you to contact it by phone or email, and their website help section is terrible.

Don't buy any membership and good luck…

Don't buy any membership and good luck booking a court. These venues are as good as a private venture located in public spaces. Pretty disgusting enterprise. They lock the courts down and you can probably play when it's dark. Laughable really. Stop using public space.

be aware the LTA website doesn't work…

be aware the LTA website doesn't work if you want to challenge a PCN - I called the helpline they were (of course) completely unhelpful. I tried 4x on 2 different browsers. Obviously a strategy to make it harder for you to challenge the PCN, especially if you are overseas. I was 100 miles away from the congestion zone when they charged me!

Dissapointment of the year

I bought an annual membership a month ago and so far I wasn’t able to book any court.
Everyday: error 500
Software from ‘90
Finding support claim form requires going through many “clicks” on their website and is not intuitive at all.
No phone service.
How does it exist like that?

No printable words

Absolutely infuriating that the booking system does not work either through the website or the app. And it gets even "better": there is no one you contact who is capable of looking into the issue immediately. The so-called Support Centre offers a 3–5 days response time. Bad, bad, bad...

Depraved for charging for public courts

How depraved are the LTA, who are supposed to be promoting tennis and fitness in the UK, across all socioeconomic groups, for paywalling public tennis courts. This is malignant capitalism. Whilst I can afford to pay, what about children or others who cannot and want to take up tennis as a hobby. The LTA already have sources of government and lottery funding. They should not be making access to sport more difficult through charging.

ISSUE WITH CODE and ACCESS Racecourse Mansfield Tennis Court

I created an account, logged in - website crashed so had to log in again. I have booked a court but it only books for a whole hour, i.e. 7pm or 6pm etc.
It showed all courts were busy and not possible to book from 6pm (it was 6.30 and only 1 court was occupied out of 8 available).
I got email with the code - tried to enter - it didn't work before 7pm but it didn't work after 7pm either - we tried it a bit later as did not wait for half an hour.
I am very disappointed and there is no way to complaint to LTA or local council about it.
The tennis courts look great but cannot be used due to access.
And after our failed attempt, I noticed kids on bikes riding on the other court - how did they get in? It should only be for players/ And if there is such a restricted access, get cameras as well to ensure safety and security and avoid vandalism.
