Extremely disappointing…
I am extremely disappointed with the way my deposit dispute has been handled.
The company allowed the checkout report to be revised after it had already been completed, with additional items added following the landlord's own inspection. In my view, this undermines the purpose of having an independent checkout process and raises serious concerns about impartiality.
Rather than assessing the evidence independently, I was repeatedly encouraged to continue negotiating directly with the landlord, despite using this service specifically because it is supposed to act as a neutral third party. I was left feeling that my concerns were not being considered fairly.
Many of the issues being raised were pre-existing and should not have formed part of any claim against my deposit. Throughout the tenancy, the landlord also failed to address several significant maintenance issues, yet these appeared to receive far less consideration than the landlord's post-tenancy complaints.
Overall, I found the process frustrating, biased, and lacking the independence I expected. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company to tenants seeking a fair and impartial deposit resolution service.
