Easy
If you are lazy like me and forget to book an appointment to see a nurse to carry on getting your contraception at the GP then this is a great alternative! Comes fairly quickly and easy to use the website.

Initially I thought this was a great pill but I’ve been on it for four months and I have gained excessive weight even thought I haven’t really changed my diet, I have red stretch marks across my lower stomach and my hips and down my thighs which have appeared very quickly and I have bled basically for the last month.
I have decided to go back to a different pill

Had a lot of irregular bleeding
Had a lot of irregular bleeding, feel bloated nearly all the time, increase in anxiety and im experiencing headaches nearly everyday. But I haven’t gotten pregnant!😂

The most commonly reported side effect of desogestrel (the active ingredient in Lovima) is bleeding irregularity, in fact some kind of bleeding irregularity has been reported in up to 50% of women who use it.
For some women, bleeding may become more frequent, whereas in others it may become less frequent or totally absent. After a couple of months of treatment, bleedings tend to become less frequent.
As you have ruled out pregnancy, it is likely that your irregular bleeding is a side effect of taking Lovima. If you are concerned by the changes to your periods, we recommend that you speak to your pharmacist or GP for further advice.

If I could leave it 0 stars I would. I moved onto this one, due to not being able to get desogestrel in time for my last sachet finishing. The side effects have been awful...
Spotting
Weight gain - I walk a minimum of 5 miles a day, I calorie count and don’t eat over 1700 and I was still gaining weight. Which is so frustrating.
Excessive hunger
Sore breast
Stomach cramps - almost like period pains
I gave it 3 months and shifted back onto desogestrel. These are essentially meant to be the same thing but somewhere the ingredients are different. Having spoken to 2 nurses, sometimes it happens but I gave it enough time to settle and it was getting worse. Back on my normal for a week now and all the symptoms have dropped off and I’m now losing the weight I gained whilst on it. So relieved is an understatement.
I appreciate the feed back from Lovima themselves. The point of my review is that not all mini pills are the same and those slight differences, can make a massive impact. If you are having symptoms and they are not settling. Try a different one
