Initiative to help garment workers impacted by Covid. Lost Stock allows shoppers to buy a mystery box of clothes cancelled by leading brands and retailers. For every box bought a garment worker and her family for a week through the Bangladeshi NGO, Sajida Foundation. This initiative was set up in May 2020 in response to $2bn of clothes being cancelled by leading brands with no payments being made to factories. In 7 months 125,000 boxes were sold, surpassing the initial target of 10,000. To do this a new global supply chain was built during a pandemic from scratch.

Great value
Love the items, nice colours and fit well! Overall great value

Lovely idea but awful things
Lovely idea - and to be fair we didn’t have to wait very long. But the dark coloured autumn/winter box contained two thin blouses (one white, one pale pink) and a thin beige sweatshirt. I am not massively fussy, as long as it everything is warm and dark/ideally black I will wear it. But this was a proper waste of money. I should have asked for a refund but couldn’t cope with the emotional blackmail about how this is all to help struggling families. Only wrote this review as they emailed me to ask for one.

Lost stock is such a good idea
Lost stock is such a good idea - workers get paid and clothes don’t end up wasted. It was refreshing to see a company do something that actually helped the clothes workers in the developing world. The clothes I received didn’t all suit me but I then had great fun swapping items on a lost stock FB group.

Great initiative to reduce landfill!
Great initiative to reduce landfill!
In a time when retail was closing its doors there were great start ups helping those often forgotten about and Lost Stock was one of them. I asked for neutrals/plain and got exactly what I wanted! I also liked that they partnered with businesses who will swap your clothing or donate to those who need it most, to keep the items away from landfill.
There were a few teething issues as expected with any new business especially when working in a locked-down world, but communication was also brilliant and I constantly felt well-informed on my order!
It’s a shame they’ve stopped doing it now....

Great initiative
Great initiative.
Got super tops from Lost Stock. Such a wonderful idea to benefit these workers, save the clothes from going to landfill and get a surprise package. It must have been a logistical nightmare to organise all this. Well done.

A great concept, executed well!
This is a great initiative from a company that are trying to do some good in the world.
The communication I had with them during the process was top notch. Delivery of the products was in line with my expectations and the quality of the items I received is great. A great experience all round.

Amazing concept - truly appreciated by me
I absolutely loved this idea and decided to support it. The time waiting for the parcel to arrive was exciting and I truly wondered what would be arriving. I was very pleased when I received my items. Admittedly one of the tops was not my style but to be honest I did not pay a lot; the sense of anticipation was good. Money went to people who so desperately need it and hopefully lovingly made items were not put into landfill. I applaud this idea. The items were well packaged; not just stuffed into a bag. I can easily take anything I am not happy with to a charity shop so that they too can benefit. A lot of thought and hard work went into this project and for this I thank you.

I loved the lost stock concept and the clothes that arrived! Delivery took a bit longer than expected but it was in the middle of the pandemic so wasn’t entirely unexpected. I was kept up to date throughout the whole process and I was really happy with the pieces I received. Well worth the £35!

Poor quality - but I like the premise
The premise of saving cancelled orders from landfill and supporting workers was good, however the quality of what was supplied was very poor.
I ordered an Autum winter box, size M (I'm a 5'3 size 10 usually).
My box contained
* green jumper, fraying at the wrist. To tight to wear.
* top thigh dress, way too short, very thin fabric, too tight wear or to layer over a base.
* called itself on the bag an oversized shirt. I'd describe it as an unshaped box. Fabric thin that underwear shows through, incorrectly stitched at the shoulder so one size bunches. Unflattering mid stomach cut, but so wide i could probably get someone else in here too.
Generally, poor quality fabrics with poor quality working/finishing. Items may have been saved from landfill overseas but are going straight into the damaged fabrics box at our local charity shop when it reopens.
I note the reply below regarding removing the labels - but the items still need to be wearable and the damage isn't where the new labels are. The damage is things like a jumper received that was frayed at the wrist, shoulder stitching where the sleeve meets the body not correctly aligned on one side. Flimsy see through fabric, on a dress of indecent length (I'm 5'3") for winter is not what I would consider a mainstream let alone a quality piece of clothing.

Avoid the disappointment and donate instead!
The clothes that arrived were not worth the money paid, and were definitely a few years old and out of style. I received poor quality clothing not for my age range or size. It's seems that everyone I know who also bought a box in good faith received a plain vest top, a sage linen top and a green top even though we all ordered different styles and age groups.
Stay away,I think this company was started with good intentions but should no way charge and advertise how they are. The clothes are years old stock, poor quality, cheaper to buy from the shops, not the brand's they advertise and no way worth £35,let alone the £70 that they say they're worth!

Poorly managed and terrible quality
Poorly managed and terrible quality.
Great PR though, when I first heard about loststock box in its infancy- I managed to convince 6 other people to order a box. I don’t believe that we should ‘go easy’ on the organisation because it is in the charitable sector. There should be some accountability. Parcels took over 12 weeks to arrive, funnily no matter the ‘box’ you chose a bunch of us got the same items. I have taken everything to a charity shop. I hope that there was some genuine benefit for the people that I aimed to support.

Find a different charity
Glad I was able to support the workers and the cause but the clothes I received were terrible and not at all what they promised in their advertisement. I’m also pretty sure my items were all £5 or under and not the £70 worth of clothes that was advertised. Would recommend supporting the charity but be prepared take all items to a charity shop - which sadly they cannot even ask much for them because the labels have been removed. Great shame really, they could revolutionised online charity clothes shopping but have promised too much and delivered absolutely nothing.

Poor quality, misrepresentation.
Took 4 months to arrive, received 3 shirts of very low quality and style. Two are extremely wide and short, this isn't a trend anywhere that I'm aware of. All three have been donated to the Op Shop as they are unwearable.
Most concerning and disappointing is that although the brand labels were removed and replaced with Lost Stock labels, the care labels showed all three were made in China. Not Bangladesh.
What an absolute waste of money and effort.
Donate to a reputable charity instead.

No Problems Here
I ordered a box in May and it arrived sometime in September, which is the timeline they originally anticipated. I was really happy with what I received, but have friends who were unhappy with their boxes. Either way it felt good to support some workers. Thanks LostStock!

I wish I'd just donated the money to a charity instead. Took over 6 months to come and the clothes weren't great quality at all.

If you have a very specific idea about your "look" and like fast fashion then this may not be for you. This is not a styling service. its random clothes.
I don't remember what options I picked about colour V pattern but got a mixed set of tops of OK quality that may not be what I would have chosen but I am happy with them. The size is ok and the quality is average - not bad but better that supermarket clothing.
I viewed this a way of getting some random bits in my wardrobe and considering whoever packed the items has never seen me they did a fairly good job of sending me things I would not have picked myself but feel comfortable in.
The delivery time was over twice what was originally stated but I have had other more commercial enterprises give up in the last few months. We are in the middle of a pandemic that is shutting borders and slowing down food transport.... and then Brexit. These are non essential items so the delay is what it is.
I may try them again.

Awful don’t use at any cost
It was awful not only did I wait over seven months for my box to arrive, when I was originally told it would take 6 to 8 weeks, it was also meant to be winter stock and what it turned out to be was a short-sleeved thin shirt, a summer dress which was incredibly thin and a bright pink jumper, when I had specifically said that I did not want any bright colours, they still sent them. This is a complete rip-off, the clothes are all really poor quality and would definitely not of cost the £70 that they said they would have! Do you not do this, it is utter crap and a complete rip-off. I really wanted this to be good as it’s suck a worthy cause but it’s just awful and I would not recommend it to anyone! I would’ve preferred to give my money just to charity and not to these charlatans.

Worth the wait...
I did have to wait a long time for my box (but I had lots of updates from them) and I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the 3 tops that arrived this morning. Personally I would recommend
