I booked an appointment to have some work done on the car. I spoke to the garage in the phone and I was quoted an amount for labour and confirmed by text. I was given an appointment for a weekday. I arrived 10mins early but then made to wait 45 mins only to be told that they couldn’t accommodate me and I must come back on Saturday. Considering I took time from work to get there. I revisited on Saturday and I was told the amount I was quoted is no longer valid and a higher amount was payable. Nevertheless, since I was there, I agreed and I was told the job will be done in 2 to 3 hours. Later I received a call on my mobile to advise that the parts for the replacement were not compatible and they will be putting everything back and are unable to get the parts for the same day so I must come and collect the car upon arrival. I was told that I must pay for the labour because the car was opened up and put back together and a full amount was payable which of course I had no choice but to pay so I walked away with no work done in £200 out of pocket!
