The wealth of experience and knowledge imparted by Keith and Wendy before and during my self build of a Bertsch Holzbau cabin, allowed the process of the cabin build to be carried out correctly and with the benefit that the cabin will still be standing for many years to come. The information and guidance given by Keith from foundation level to the finished roof was invaluable. Despite being located in Oxford we were advised by Bertsch Holzbau to have Log Cabins Scotland as our supplier for our build, this for us definitely turned out to be the right choice.

Log Cabins Scotland built me my dream workspace and it only took a week to build! (Including foundations!) Wendy and Keith helped me to fine-tune the design to fit my needs whilst also keeping an aesthetic flow to the build. I spoke to a few other companies before finding Log Cabins Scotland and I knew straight away I had found the perfect company. It was so refreshing to work with professionals who, not only where able to answer any and every question I had, but whom I also I felt I could trust. And they delivered! I could not be happier! Keith and Wendy were a pleasure to do business with. They really know their product and were able to guide us effortlessly through the selection process. Communication was excellent and nothing was too much trouble for them. We absolutely love our cabin. It’s so well built and incredibly comfortable to spend time in – worth every penny! As we have had the heat pump installed we look forward to using it all year round. Our dog also approves and thinks it’s his bespoke kennel!

Dave and Dean, the installers, were brilliant they worked so hard and nothing was too much trouble, everything was done to such a high standard and they cleared up spotlessly too! The finished product is fantastic, we’ve used it all year round in any weather, a cosy retreat!

Variation on Emil cabin.
Location, North of Scotland

I came to Keith and Wendy asking for a variation on the Emil cabin. I also wanted to do the build myself.

I already had double glazed window units and a french door so this meant that I really just required the "sticks", the logs themselves.

Despite the fact that I would not be purchasing high value items such as the doors and windows and the fact that there was no installation for them, Keith and Wendy were very keen to provide me with as much detail and information as possible in order for me to have a successful build.

During my initial visit they provided a host of information and advice that I would carry with me all the way through the build.

We talked about everything from the design of warm roof system, to the way the cabin expands
and contracts through the seasons, the best method to apply the paint (it's an airless spray machine btw, what a finish!), even the best type of hammer to use!!

Keith was happy to take numerous phone calls during the build, issuing advice and direction in his no nonsense approach. He certainly saved me from making some embarrassing mistakes and his support was absolutely invaluable.

Wendy's communication throughout the design process, purchasing and delivery logistics was exemplary. I was always provided with design changes quickly and when the time for delivery came I was completely in the loop and meant I was prepared for the arrival of several tonnes of
timber!

Looking back, I would admit to being quite a high maintenance customer. It didn't seem to matter to either of them, they were always there at the end of the phone or from a swift email reply.

I love our new cabin, and the satisfaction that comes from building it myself is immense.

We can’t speak highly enough of Log Cabins Scotland.

We’d never had a garden room before but Keith and Wendy were very patient and spent a long time discussing our outline thoughts while we came up with the final design.

We wanted to finalise the full details of the cabin well before we ordered it and they were happy to spend the time answering all our questions and finalising the project scope. This included Keith advising our landscape gardener exactly what he wanted by way of a base for the cabin. We are sure this preparatory time was well spent and meant that the cabin construction went without a hitch.

The build team (Lee, David and Dean) couldn’t have been more professional, hard-working, and friendly. The cabin construction was completely trouble-free with the team paying great attention to detail. The installation of the heat pump also went smoothly. There was no time-wasting and they involved us fully the very few times that a decision was needed.

We decided to use the electrician recommended by Keith and this meant that LCS’s first-fix electrical work was exactly what was required so final installation of electrics went without a hitch.

Everything was really well prepared, and everyone in LCS made every effort to ensure that we’d get a summerhouse to be proud of.

We’re more than happy to recommend this family firm.

The team at Log Cabins, Scotland were superb from when we initially contacted them to the final completion of the job. Their communication was thorough and attitude flexible (as we, as customers, were a little indecisive at times!).

The work itself is clearly a very high standard, and the guys involved took take great pride in their work.

The final design/construction is exactly what we hoped for; and with the heat pump also installed, we look forward to using it all-year-round.

When I was initially looking at setting up a building at the bottom of my garden, I had been looking at summerhouse buildings with no insulation, no guarantees and labourers with no expertise. It would have been set up on slabs with no drainage and it would have had a rotting base in no time due to the Scottish climate. Unfortunately none of this advice is offered when buying from many sellers.

When I discovered Log Cabins Scotland, I initially phoned up for an enquiry. After speaking to Keith (with a very in depth conversation!) I quickly learned that where I was trying to save some money, I was ultimately cutting corners and would have ended up having to repair and rebuild my building several times compared to the longevity of a proper cabin build. I most likely wouldn't have had electrics or networking in the space and I definitely wouldn't get as much use out of it.

The quality of the cabin and workmanship, the communication and advice for the work start to finish and the joy of knowing that the building will stand for many many years to come and add value to my property? There's no question it's worth spending a little extra for this. Wendy kept me informed of every stage in the process and went out of her way to make sure every specification was exactly the way we wanted it.

To say that the Log Cabins Scotland team are professional is an understatement - they're the best in the business and they're the nicest team you could ever work with.

I’m really pleased with the finished cabin. Built by experts who know what they’re doing and within the timeframe and budget quoted. The build quality is excellent and the guys were very sympathetic to my garden and pond during the build.

Now being used mainly as an office but also doubles very nicely as a sitooterie for a coffee when it’s raining.

I have no hesitation in endorsing Log Cabins Scotland and would use them again in future without hesitation.
