Happy for the custom skillet

Since I ordered custom skillet during peak season, I reached out to them when I didn’t receive any notifications after the given processing window. The customer support was responsive. In the end, I got my order right on time. My husband was very happy with the skillet. For these reasons, I’m giving 5 stars and planning to buy again in the future.

Lodge cask iron warranty is a farce. They don’t stand behind it.

Lodge cask iron. Doesn’t not honor their own warranty. I received a damaged item from Amazon and they would not replace it even those their warranty says they will. They also said I have to go through Amazon and they don’t stock it since it’s made for Amazon. So pretty much their warranty is useless if you buy it from an authorized retailer since they’ll claim they don’t have any stock to replace it.

Slow order - very disappointed

Ordered products a month ago and still has not even been shipped. Buyer be wary. Also check the returns policy terms and conditions. No emails providing updates on timeframes or ability to cancel the orders to move to alternative. Going to the largest inland festival this month and I will make sure my experience with this company is well known to all.

Don’t give this company your business

This is a horrible company to do business with
Less than 24 hours after I placed an order, I needed to cancel.
I tried leaving a message on my account, I tried calling, (the phone line said there was a high volumn of calls to please email them)
I emailed and they responded with “we have a no cancel no refund policy”

A solid cast iron company

A solid cast iron company. It's not the quality of the old cast iron pans from the 60's like "Erie". Those ones were half as thick and twice as good because they were light. They also had a much smoother finish. The modern Lodge is bumpy, but still works well enough once properly seasoned.

Mishandling of order, lied about receiving before Christmas.

I placed an order on 12/08. The website says that all orders placed by 12/13 will be delivered before Christmas Eve 12/24. I received an email on 12/12 saying my order is delayed. They didn’t provide a new shipment date, when my order will be delivered or anything.

I reached out to customer service and no answer for 3 days. When I get an answer all I received was “Per our terms and conditions we can’t change an order after it’s placed”. They didn’t provide me an estimated shipping time or anything. Just a cold, terse response without a resolution.

Keep in mind, this is a $500 order, I paid $75 in shipping, and I placed the order over 3 weeks before Christmas. I’m being told I most likely won’t get the order before the holiday and they somehow can’t cancel the order because of their mishandling.

I tried to call and reach out by chat and both options are unavailable. It’s sketchy

What a hassle

Ordered some pans on a Sunday evening went back to confirm the size and realized they were smaller then indicated as the measurement included the handle. Responded to the confirmation email asking to cancel. Monday I had a chat with Charley who said it was not possible to cancel and if I returned it would be at my cost. I called customer service at the same time on the phone this person said let me check she told me it was to late it was already packed in was shipping. At the same moment on the chat I was told great news he had got approval to issue a refund and I could keep the pans. I said they were still too small for me but I would donate to my church. The charge was still on my credit card on Tuesday having gone from pending to an actual charge. So I checked the status of my "free" order somehow even though it was not possible to cancel it had been cancelled . I called and confirmed this with customer service. I was never contacted so seems like a lot of hassle for nothing.

Comparable to other major brands

I current own thier: 12" CI skillet, 10" CI skillet, 3.2 QT combo CI dutch oven 12" CS skillet, 8" CS skillet, CS grill pan, CS griddle, and a chainmail scrubber.

Lodge's cast iron (CI) and carbon steel (CS) have a rougher surface than other brands like Matfer, de buyer, and etc.So far this has been a non issue for me.

I regularly use my 12" CI skillet, 12" CS skillet, 8" CI skillet and my Dutch oven.

One of my favorite small American…

One of my favorite small American companies. They make great cast iron cookware which is great to cook on.
It’s not nonstick like Teflon, so cooking eggs on it isn’t quite as perfect as a traditional frying pan. But for everything else it has great characteristics: it retains heat well, you can cut on it while cooking without risk to health, and most importantly it will literally last forever. It’s so thick and heavy that I’m pretty sure it would stop a tank shell. I’m pretty sure my great grandkids will be handing it down to their own kids: that’s how certain I am that it will last.
