Dishonest and misleading - Double check everything in writing
We had a reservation with Alamo through Expedia. Big was our surprise when we were greeted by Locauto as a local partner.
Problems started with an error on our part as we forgot the license of the person who made the reservation and everything went downhill from there with ZERO intent from locate of helping us.
We asked them if it was possible to modify our reservation so the driver would be someone with a license and they said it was not possible , and refused to contact Alamo to double check.
Instead of trying to communicate with us, they merely repeated "our rules" in a broken English, which made it all the worse since English is our second language as well.
We ended up being forced to cancel our original reservation and make a new one directly with them However, they refused to give us the car we originally had booked since that car was "for reservations booked beforehand" which was ridiculous since there was no way that car was taken, as it was reserved for us.
We asked then to please give us a car in the same category because we needed to fit all of our luggage. They said they could accommodate us but it would be a manual car instead of automatic (later we realized reviewing the coded parts of the invoice they charged an automatic). I drive manual so we agreed. When we got to the lot the car was considerably smaller and we were told it was the only one available. By some miracle all the luggage fit, but we were considerably cramped inside. Finally, we had to fight and wait to be able to get clean carseats as the ones we were given were originally filthy.
The worst part of all was the girl at the counter who just gave us scripted responses, mistreated and misled us every step of the way. At one point, trying to smooth the situation, I asked for her first name to address her more politely and she shoved the branch's business card in my hand and refused to say her name. The experience was truly one of abusive commercial practices and dishonesty

When a reservation is placed through a third-party broker (such as Expedia), Locauto acts solely as the local executing supplier. Because the agreement and payment terms exist directly between you and the broker, our counter staff have no system authorization or ability to modify driver details, alter terms, or issue refunds on broker bookings. Any changes to the main driver must be managed directly through the broker's platform prior to pick-up.
Regarding the vehicle assigned for your new direct booking, we can confirm that the vehicle provided matches the exact category billed on the front page of your rental contract (Car Group M).
At the same time, we are very sorry to hear that you experienced what felt like a negative attitude and scripted communication from our counter staff. Our primary goal is always to deliver professional, warm, and helpful service to every customer, especially when unexpected travel complications arise.
We take your comments regarding staff behavior and child seat cleanliness very seriously. We will review your feedback with the loal team to reinforce our customer service training and strictly maintain the cleanliness of all optional accessories.

When we picked the car, Martha came with us to the car and explained everything. She also checked that everything in the car is ok. When I have rented a car from other companies before, they just gave me the key and told me where I can find the car.
Only problem was to find a way from the rental desk to the pick-up place. We got the instructions but still struggling to find the correct place. Part of the problem is my inadequate English language skills.
Returning the car was smoothly. This was a good experience and I will defenitely use this company in future.

Very good experience
Very helpful and responsive staff. The car was in good condition. My only observation is that the windshield wipers did not appear to have been properly maintained, which meant that when we encountered heavy rain, they were not particularly effective in clearing the windshield. Nevertheless, upon return of the car I mentioned this to the staff, who were very polite and receptive to the feedback and assured me that they would take care of it. Overall, very good experience with Locauto.
