From the seamless pickup in Bari Airport to the quality of the car offered. I was really delighted with the level of service and value.
Would do it again in a heartbeat.
Also I didn’t need to queue like the other well known car rental companies when arriving on a early Saturday afternoon

The plane arrived in Bari at 10:00 p.m. with a slight delay. The car rental office is open until 11:00 p.m., so we were able to pick up the car. However, we had to collect it on our own because the vehicle pick-up area, located in the outdoor parking lot, is staffed only until 8:00 p.m.

Although we asked the employee to inspect the car together with us, this was not possible.The car was rented and fully insured through Booking.com. However, there was no indication that I would still be required to secure any potential damage with my credit card directly through Locauto and then claim reimbursement separately through Booking.com's claims process.

Furthermore, the vehicle inspection was not carried out jointly with the rental agent. Instead, I was simply presented with a damage report showing pre-existing damage and was expected to sign it immediately. If I wanted to collect the car and continue with my holiday, I had no realistic alternative but to sign.

This is a non-transparent process that leaves the customer without direct coverage for any potential damage, despite having paid for full insurance through Booking.com. Since Locauto's rental procedure is not handled properly, it is also questionable whether any damage claim would actually be reimbursed by Booking.com.

I have rented cars many times before, but this is the first time I have been required to guarantee potential damages with my credit card despite already having paid for full insurance through Booking.com.

I consider this an unfair business practice. As a customer, I will share this negative experience and warn others in my personal and professional network about this rental process.

Great collection and easy drop off in Bari

I was 15 minutes late to return the car. Employees assured that this was not a problem. Only later did I see the fee charged for the next day.

It was a fast process and the staff is very good

Everything went perfectly from start to finish. The paperwork at the airport was quick and easy, and after that we just walked to the car, which was located inside the airport parking area. The staff handed over the car very quickly and were friendly and professional.
Returning the car was just as simple. We drove back to the parking area, where the staff inspected the vehicle. They confirmed there was no new damage, and we didn't even need to go back to the office. The return process was completed right there in the parking lot.
I highly recommend this rental company. It is easy to find, the service is fast and efficient, and the staff are kind and helpful both in the office and at the car handover and return.

This was by far the worst car rental experience I have ever had.

We paid for our rental car in full before our trip. Due to an exceptionally long passport control process at Bari Airport, which was completely beyond our control, we arrived after the Locauto office had closed. Surprisingly, Locauto was the only car rental company at the airport that was closed at that time.

We immediately tried to contact Locauto by phone, email and live chat but received no meaningful assistance. Instead, we were redirected to Booking/Rentalcars, who also refused to take responsibility or provide a solution. We were left stranded at the airport late at night and had to pay €70 just to get to our accommodation.

The next morning, we had to pay for transportation again to travel all the way from Monopoli back to Bari Airport. Instead of honoring our fully paid reservation or offering any assistance, we were told that our only option was to pay again and make a completely new reservation for another car.

As a result, we lost money, wasted valuable vacation time, paid for multiple transfers, and had to pay for a second rental despite already having paid for the first one in full. The lack of customer service, communication, and willingness to help was completely unacceptable

Quick and easy check in, pick up and and drop off. Friendly staff, nice car, I have no complaints and would definitely recommend Locauto in Bari :)

Even though we have arrived 5 hours earlier than it was originaly booked, kind lady at the desk found the solution for us. Car was safe and new, everything went smooth. Returning is very easy, even out of their working hours with no extra charge.
