My knives are sharp again and I am happy :)

Local root is a one stop shop for everything kitchen and dining related. I had my knife set sharpened before the holidays, and sharp knives make cooking SUCH a pleasure! LR has a quick 2 day turnaround time, and in the 3 times I brought knives (I like to stagger the sharpening so that I always have a few at home) I never had to wait. There is free parking in the back, and that makes this Belmont shop very easy to access!

I sent in all nine of my knives and they were sharpened perfectly. I had hesitated to get them sharpened, even though they needed it. But my sharpening steel just wasn't doing the job anymore. I didn't want the blades to be damaged or misshapen, and I read online horror stories of places that ruined knives while 'sharpening' them. But my knives came back better than new, and I happily chopped my way through Thanksgiving and am looking forward to Christmas cooking with my beautifully restored knives! Thank you!

The craftsman/sharpener was very accommodating, re-sharpened the knife in my presence when I felt it could be sharper. He even offered a third try by his own mentor, which I felt was unnecessary. Even though it cuts pretty well, I still feel this knife could be even sharper, but I am unsure whether this is possible with this particular quality of knife. Next time, I would try having it done my usual sharpener in the spring.

Use them for low angle Japanese knives, they come back alarmingly sharp!

I was generally pleased, but the blade of my carving knife was discolored when we took it out of the sleeve to carve our turkey and after washing it is still di colored. It almost looks burnt.

They were very nice, the turnaround was quick and the knives work wonderfully now.

We are very happy with the 3 kitchen knives we had sharpened at the Belmont Local Root store. It is such a joy to cut and dice vegetables and meats - especially now I can get back to cooking in the cool weather. We are impressed with the turnaround time of 48 hours in getting back our knives. It's been almost 2 months since the knife was sharpened and there has been no noticeable dullness. The employees were helpful and friendly, and the service is fast and reliable
