Absolute rip off

Dropped a ring down a drain. $425 call out fee (steep, but ok..). Guy got there, looked at it for about 10 seconds before asking for another $1200 to retrieve the ring. With gear he had in his ute outside. He and his boss could not justify why it would cost so much. I borrowed a fibre scope and got it out in 15 mins with no experience whatsoever.

$2,139.80 to disconnect and drain a hot water cylinder. Rip off.

Call out fee after hours/emergency was $500 which is fair enough. My hot water cylinder in my apartment had burst and I needed a plumber out here urgently. What was ridiculous was the additional $1,450 that was charged for the plumber to disconnect the hot water cylinder, drain it, and turn a switch off half a meter away from the cylinder for the hot water.

Though the plumber did it all efficiently, an overall charge of $2,139.80 is insanely high for the work he did. Took him all of 30 minutes to complete it if that also.

Preying on people who are in dire situations and need help isn’t on. It’s dishonest and con artist behaviour. Wish I had the time and calmness to read these reviews first but desperate times I guess.

$600+ for a call out fee

$600+ for a call out fee. Fine for 10pm call out.

But Wanted to charge another $500 just to turn a tap off under the sink to stop water flooding.

Quoted $2k to actually fix the tap. Absolute con.

$1,400 wasted-issue not fixed and no accountability

$1,400 wasted – issue not fixed and no accountability

I paid $1,400 to have a kitchen drain unblocked, which is already an extremely high price for this type of service. Unfortunately, the problem returned in just two months — clearly indicating the issue was not properly resolved in the first place.

When I contacted them again, they refused to come back unless I paid additional fees. Their explanation was that they didn’t use a camera during the initial job, and now they would need to use one — at extra cost.

This raises a serious question: why wasn’t the proper diagnostic (camera inspection) done from the start, especially given the premium price charged?

It’s unreasonable to expect customers to pay $1,400 for a fix that only lasts two months, and then be asked to pay even more to address what should have been properly handled initially.

Very disappointed with both the quality of work and the lack of accountability. I would not recommend this service.

BEWARE

I wish I had read the reviews before engaging this company. They are incompetent and charge excessively. Don't use them.

Scumbags quotes 1 number and charged…

Scumbags quotes 1 number and charged ten times that amount to my 90 plus yo parents who didn't know any better. Over $2k to replace two taps which could have been done for under $200.
I took Wajih to NCAT and after 3 months and no admission of fault he refunded about a grand. Still overcharged by triple or more but at least I got something back.

Dodgy Plumbing Pty Ltd

Do a favour and save yourself alot of money by not using this company. $1,200 for a drainage issue. Didnt realised he was trying to fix the pipes for whole of Sydney. One of the dodgiest pricing ive seen. And im a pretty dodgy bloke myself.

Caution.

A neighbour recommended a plumbing company and sent me a link. I clicked on the link and believed I was being taken to the recommended site. Local Plumbing Heroes pay for priority listing and I was diverted to their site instead. (I now understand about sponsored ads. There are unexpected traps everywhere in the online world). In short, a replacement kitchen mixer tap and hose was fitted and the charge was $801. I had advised the plumber that I would not be in attendance and that he would be dealing with my tenant. My tenant was pressured to make full payment before the plumber started work. He also recommended that a water pressure minimiser be fitted to prevent future problems (quote $1100). The house was totally replumbed 16 years ago and water pressure is not a problem. My tenant advised that she felt pressured and that the objective was to upsell. She did ask how long the job would take and that she would relay the suggestion of the additional work to me. The job was completed within 30 minutes and I have a budget priced replacement tap/hose. I regard this as one of the least satisfying trade experiences I have had in over 50 years of home ownership. I post this review in the hope that it may act as a caution to others considering using the services of LPH.

Our experience with the plumber

Our experience with the plumber, Eman, was deeply disappointing. His conduct was unethical, unprofessional, and deceptive. He initially asked for over $1200 for just 50 minutes of work, and only after being challenged did he reduce the amount to $756, which was still exorbitant. When we raised our concerns with the office, their response was rude and dismissive, showing no willingness to address the issue or uphold any standards of integrity.

Highway robbery

Highway robbery. Run and don't look back. Be grateful you were warned. This guy will avoid giving you a verbal quote until he hits you with the price at the end. You can bet it will be double what everyone else charges. If I could give this guy minus stars, I would.

Highway robbers

Highway robbers. I am uncertain whether the individual who arrived to handle the plumbing issue was indeed the right person for the task at hand. My mother-in-law had been experiencing problems with a blocked sink, prompting the need for professional assistance. When he assessed the situation, he provided an initial quote of $740.00 for unblocking the sink. After some discussion, we managed to negotiate the price down to $600.00, at which point he began his work.

Approximately 20 minutes into the process of jetting the pipes, he informed me that he needed to inspect a second pipeline to ascertain whether it might yield further improvement in clearing the blockage. Without explicitly mentioning any potential additional costs, he then suggested it would be necessary to utilize a camera to inspect the pipes for clarity. Throughout this entire procedure, he failed to disclose any extra charges that might arise from his actions.

Once he completed the unblocking, I requested that he replace the S-bend under the sink. Once again, he refrained from providing a price for this additional work. After he finished, I handed over the agreed $600.00, only to later discover that there would be supplementary fees associated with the camera inspection and the S-bend replacement. I inquired about the additional costs, but he remained non-communicative, simply generating an invoice without offering any details on the charges.

When I expressed my intention to pay by card, it became evident that he hadn’t provided any verbal estimate concerning the total billing amount. I swiped my card, only to be shocked upon realizing that an astounding additional charge of $2,400.00 had been applied to my transaction. To my disbelief, he had also billed me a further $885.00 specifically for flushing the pipes.

Called them as they were the second on…

Called them as they were the second on the list what an expensive lesson to learn.
The kitchen sink had clogged from build up. I had pulled the water out and removed some of the pipes. I couldn't remove one, ao I called a plumber. They were all booked out. Then these guys. Why did I call them because I had things to do and needed it done. Well the plumber came out straight off the bat he said 99 call put fee and whatever the job is he said I needed the eel for a kitchen sink !!!! Wtf? I said I'm not flooding here it's a blockage just there I just can't remove the pipe he said he will pump it quoted me 480 and said that's it. He didn't even use the PUMP !!!! He got me to sign but there were no terms and conditions ! I should have asked but was thinking of other things. Then he comes and says I need to replace the s bend 250.00 for a little pipe ? Wtf again ? Anyway I go to pay little did I know I could pay by bank transfer and he demanded I pay by card.when I ran through the price with him I said 480 for the pump that you didn't use so 250 plus 99 349 plus gst. He charged me 1040 !!!!!.
I messaged him and he said yes I have to refund you 60.00 I said no you have to refund me 600 he didn't budge then I send him an sms and he says he will pay he replies to sms and refunds 74.00 ?!!

Definitely put in a complaint through to the department of fair trading.

Now I know how to undo pumps.
Maybe I should become a plumber seems they can charge and rip people off and not give a shit.

Highway robbery. These guys need to be driven out of business they are unworthy and untrusting. Do not use them at any costs.

BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY- DO NOT USE

The plumber assessed the issue (Minor) and quoted $548. A signature to acknowledge this was signed on the Plumbers IPAD. The terms and conditions of which were not made available until he received payment in full. Please note the conditions comprehensively allow them to charge what ever they want. This is a direct quote " Local Plumbing Heroes will NOT renegotiate any terms or conditions relating to the costs of works undertaken after the completion of such works" Please note the work was completed in less than 1 hour. Upon completion an invoice of $1414.80 was presented. His conduct very misleading and deceptive. Completely took advantage of my Aunt and Uncle

Do not recommend…

This company came to repair one leak (made a second one…) then promised a full report with photos of the repair and asked $500 for a full report with photos once the invoice was paid….
On top of that we still have a leak that we need to be fixed! They didn’t use any tools to detect the leaks… they just guessed and charged us a fortune for that.
Do not recommend.
