Scam
I don't believe that any of the 5 or 4 star ratings are real for Cyberlink. This company is a full-functioning scam. They will continue to charge you monthly after you cancel your subscription and even delete your entire account with them. Multiple phone number on their website are out-of-service, and the one that works I have called maybe 15-20 times over the last 2 months with no response. I have sent many emails (to the numerous email addresses listed on their website) and left voicemails with no response. I finally had to contact my credit card provider to report their charges as fraud to stop the monthly charges. Please do not use this software/company. Scam aside, their products were outdated, confusing to maneuver, and overall useless. We used their software for all of one hour before deciding we needed to cancel the subscription.
Where's the support????
I like powerdirector ok but the customer service is non existent. Initially I paid for a premium subscription yet everything I opened the app I see the ad to go premium. So I was unsure if I was getting what I paid for tried contacting them they informed me this was a question I had to ask Google play for whatever reason I contacted them who referred me back to cyberlink. I have since purchased an account for additional cloud storage and whatever else and even though they took my money my account states I've got no products or services. I contacted them and the response was a link to FAQ about the cloud.
Sales factory
Sales factory. Constant pleading to buy a marginally updated product, with ads for junk throughout.
They also make it hard for you to download products if you have a new PC.
There are lots of better products out there that don't spend their time pleading with you to buy unnecessary stuff.
Good product let down by very slow speed
PhotoDirector 11 is a good product in what it does... but it only does it very very slowly on my computer (i7 laptop, 12GB RAM). The main problem is that it now takes 30+ minutes to start up. Back to using Picasa which is blindingly fast in comparison... if much less featured.
The customer help is very prompt but just ends up saying it is a problem with my computer setup.
Cyberlink powerdirector19 365
Cyberlink powerdirector19 365 subscription and very happy with it's performance . GPU hardware acceleration is amazingly fast and the rendering quality is spot on.
Now comes with Shutterstock included in the subscription and tons of content.Don't understand why so many bad reviews, been using cyberlink for at least 15yrs now and can only say it gets better and better all the time.
My pc system is an old 2700k i7 CPU with 24gb of ram with an nivida gtx1650 super.can honestly say it runs powerdirector really well..
Have also got it installed on my laptop that did have an issue not running very well but once I reinstalled windows 10 with a clean up to date copy download from Microsoft at no cost ,plus updated driver's ,all was well. Personally think people need to make sure there system is clean and all driver's up to date before blaming the software as that really goes for any software as video editing doe's take a lot of your computer's resources ,if it's not up to date and you have running programs in the background , you're more than likely have issues.Have tried most video editor's on the market and found cyberlink powerdirector to be a good performer out of all when it comes to power and speed plus loads on useful contents . Others video editor's I would recommend with good GPU hardware acceleration is wondershare filmora x and Movavi video editor. Plus 2021. Personally don't think you need expensive programs like Adobe premiere Pro as most of us wouldn't Benefit from it as you would need a super high pc and have to spend £1,000 on plugins and would need adobe aftereffects to go along with it.If your in the business making large amounts of money then you would probably already have a super high pc that would cope well with the demands from Adobe software .
For most of us I would save your hard earned cash and give one of these programs below a try by downloading a free trial before you buy, 1.powerdirector 19, 2.wondershare filmora x, 3.Movavi video editor plus 2021.If you decide to purchase most vender's offer a 30 day money back guarantee although not always that easy as I have found in the past.
Hope this helps
I will not be Recommending Cyberlink PowerDirector…
I have had Cyberlink PowerDirector since 2018 and never had trouble but on my latest project I produced a DVD with no menu and it will not player on my DVD player but when I produce the same project with a menu it will play. Never had this trouble before and have not changed my hardware or software involved so I first contacted them on 21st November 2020. Since then they have repeatedly come back to me asking me to try this and that. Most of which I saw no relation to to problem but did the steps they asked me to. However, in the end it is now 09/01/21 and they have been blaming my DVD player on the last 2 or 3 replies and I know that is not the problem. So I am left with the problem and they seem to have washed their hands of the issue. They were quick enough to take my money when I purchased the software and some Add on's. Would not recommend any of their software if this is the service you get!
A difficult evaluation because I like the software.
This is a difficult evaluation because the product is good but the support/help is non-existent.
I looked and bought 3 different DVD editing software, Filamora, NCH and Corel before going to CyberLink. I even tried Free-Ware too.
The others companies all had issues or bugs and it appears that their support was also poor.
Its a pity really about Cyberlink because it’s the quality of the support that will make the product because you feel that people care. The product pricing is confusing as they appear to use 2 different names for the same product. On one page it appears that one product isn't even available. It also appears that this company does everything in its power to try to make you monthly rent not buy for life. They are not quick to help out either, if you have installation key issues, as I read somewhere. Luckily I didn’t have a problem installing PowerDirector or registering it. The last thing you want is a problem re-installing, especially if you have to buy another computer.
2 days after purchasing the software $91 worth, I got an email (no-reply type) saying that they were giving me a free gift of Power Photo (albeit and ancient version 8) for me to download. So I tried it. Download ok. Installation not possible because the error message said the reg. key they supplied had been used too many times! I tried the support but nothing back. Quite frankly it leaves a nasty taste in the mouth to be given something duff when making out that they valued my purchase. So that is why they get 1 star. Had I tried it and liked it, I might have bought that photo thing too. Their loss. Luckily I did not look at TrustPilot (who also rank Cyberlink very low) when I bought the software, otherwise I would not have a good product. Its early days yet – anything can happen.
TRASH. Cyberlink power director.
Utter trash that's what power director is. Paid trash. If you want editing software then either download Davinci Resolve or buy Filmora which is a one off fee and they won't charge you every year.
I used to use PD for YouTube but now only use Davinci resolve and Filmora. After Cyberlink cancelled my subscription even thou I had paid a one of fee.
Please don't waste your money on Cyberlink power director TRASH....
Tried to upload a video to YouTube but…
Tried to upload a video to YouTube but getting msg saying can’t connect to server check internet. Connection is fine and uploaded a couple of weeks ago so what’s changed. Left msg with customer services but no reply. I’m done with them. 40 days subscription left but not renewing. No point when I can’t use the product. Adios Cyberlink.
DELETE THIS JUNK
I got my Dell Inspiron several years ago for basic Word, Excel and internet purposes. I'm just now fiddling around with things preinstalled. The Cyberlink thing is garbage and I haven't even tried it. Why? There are at least 10 spelling errors or typos on just the first page. DELETING THIS CRAP NOW. How do you run a "business" and expect people to pay for upgrades that others say aren't worth it when you won't even hire an editor or at the very least a 2nd grader to check your spelling for crying out loud. No patience for substandard unprofessional companies looking to rip hard working people off.
Purchased the CD
Purchased the CD. NEVER received it. Contacted them multiple times over a period of a year. They ignored me.
Previous to that I had a glitch with their product. They never helped me with that either.
Customer service is terrible. They could care less about clients after they have gotten their money.
Stay far away from this terrible company!
Powerdirector accessed my google account
Had a recent trial of Powerdirector. Didn't keep it after trial. Had a message from Google 2days ago that they had accessed my Google account. Why oh why would any company need to access a Google account. I would love to know what information you need from my personal emails? Can't be trusted.
Regained feelings about Cyberlink…
So funny reading all these reviews and yes I used to be soured on Cyberlink and was really frustrated after losing months of work and clients I was about to give up too, but my recent subscription which I almost switched to a different company has proven to be a long battle of horrid issues finally resolved for now. First I recommend your computer system being minimum of 4G (I'd use more like 6-8G) with 16RAM (32RAM probably better) with compatible graphics cards. Anything less you will have issues. The programs in 365 have powerful features at very reasonable price for all that you get. I've found their tech people, although not always good at resolve, at least compassionate towards their customers issues which not a lot of software companies are. My only real issues that are constant are with New Blue filters which they are not a nice company who cares that the filters are constantly being blocked through their own registration which it's a bit odd how you have to register them after loading program so that headache is reoccurring for me. New Blue recently, as of last update, had just stopped honoring old purchases of their software so they can recharge customers triple what they originally paid for them which is really disingenuous to do; most of these no longer work now maybe due to upgrade of their own products. For those of you unfamiliar with Cyberlink, New Blue filters are an effect package that is suppose come with the purchase and it gets complicated to fix if they are not honoring their registrations. Cyberlink is switching some of these important filters out to another filter company though so luckily some of my nonworking New Blue filter are working for the other filter company. For the price I pay to Cyberlink compared to more expensive software, I've put up with this issue cause I've come to love working in the program and I've worked in multiple video programs like Vegas and Premiere. I still go back to Cyberlink for it's ease and quick templates and they've really pushed into areas that are unique with it's combined graphics programs. I guess it's all what you prefer but I gained a new respect for the company when I complained about the "online access only" for the program to work. I had very bad Internet service in my area so they did make the program operational for offline use which is fantastic as most download programs today you can't access without online Internet connectivity and this my friends is a major headache as nothing with Internet is reliable anymore. So big plus to Cyberlink for making this change. I will say when things go bad with software glitches, yes it can be bad but one thing I did always find with Cyberlink, if you can speak to someone by phone they will try their best for you to fix problems it's just that it takes forever through email responses where they understand sometimes and it's a costly and frustrating route. Unfortunately we get tampered with updates way too often now and they race to compete with competitors and it's always the customer who ends up suffering for this. I think in essence we'd all like to have quality and reliability first rather than dealing with upgrade headaches, but I think that Cyberlink does take into thought their customer's issues which I can't say about other software companies so I've continued to stay with them for now. Recent updates on program have been really nice as long as the program works for your system. They've made long processes like LUTS, animated lighting/color filters that used to be a lot of work in video much easier, then they added some interesting new features in their Photo editing software. There is hope guys as I spent almost 6 years battling upgrades and this time I got a working program finally minus my minor issues with New Blue filters which at this point I just have learned to use other ones more reliable because I found the company really unresponsive to deal with.
I had the paid version
I had the paid version, but the downloaded version did not recognize this. After countless attempts at uninstalling/reinstalling and working with support on other options, I just gave up.
CyberLink's Customer Survice is really BAD
On 13 August 2020, I received from CyberLink Request #666720, whether I would the support I had received regarding PowerDirector 16. I told them that I was not satisfied regarding CyberLink’s Support, also by replying to their email.
I had lost CyberLink PowerDirector 16. I attached multiple attachments that I could not reinstall PD 16. I still had the 1_CyberLink_PowerDirector16_Ultra_Upgrade_VDE170925-01 on my PC. I had upgraded to PD 16 from PD 14.
However, I could not reinstall PD 16. I always received a message that “Setup cannot install the upgrade. Your System must at least one of the following versions of PowerDirector: …/16.0. The installation will now abort. Please report the installation issue to ... attaching CyberLink PowerDirector.zip from your desktop”. I had no longer a PowerDirector.zip file on my desktop.
If I could, I would award zero points to CyberLink Support. Unforfunately, I can only give 1 point.
No quibble refund on PD365
Although I personally didn't get along with PowerDirector 365 I wanted to give Cyberlink credit for honoring their 30 day refund promise. After about 3 weeks with the product I decided it was never going to run satisfactorily on my hardware and I needed to go with a simpler editor. I sent an email to the address given on the website (quoting my order number etc) and within a matter of hours my money was back in my PayPal account. My verdict on PD365 is that it may be worth considering if you want a full-feature video editor and you have serious, high-spec computer hardware to run it on. (My 2GB GPU was never going to be enough.) What you can be reassured about is that the 30 day refund offer is what it says.
The worst experience in my life - They are ripping people off!!!!!!
I went on a trial plan about 5 months ago for Powerdirector 365, it then started renewing at $27 a month. I couldn't cancel it online. I sent numerous emails asking for it to be cancelled so I could go on the annual plan. But they always respond with a price or tell me to go online.
Even when I email to cancel as I can't do it online they respond to say go back online.
The worst customer service I have ever experienced. They just want to take people's money, it's disgusting. I could have paid for any software after the $27 a month over 5 months. And the software doesn't work!
Oh and they still haven't cancelled it! Going to have to cancel my credit card!
DO NOT USE THESE CRIMINALS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Power DVD is a great product backed with great customer service
I bought their Power DVD media program and it is absolutely great. It works with no problem with all kind of media, provides great sound (has an equalizer) and comes with great customer service.
*IT IS ALMOST BELOW AVERAGE* these are…
*IT IS ALMOST BELOW AVERAGE* these are the problem (my opinion, because i'm master editor.)
ActionDirector 3
1: cannot edit duration
2: cannot trim
3: the enchancement is very horrible
PhotoDirector 3
1: the enchancement is very horrible
2: no blur, grunge, retro, and no curve, so Google Snapseed is better
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DO NOT BUY THIS PROGRAM, IT IS HORRIBLE, AND A SCAM.
please fix this, Cyberlink.
Absolutely one of the worst companies I…
Absolutely one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with! I purchased their software and had problem with the installation from the GetGo. They advertise a 30-day money back guarantee, but it did not even make it to 30 minutes before I was ready to throw it out the window. Their tech support is strictly email. Response was usually the next day. The software installation was so bad it caused my computer to keep rebooting. The last thing I asked for was instruction and how to uninstall their product. I followed their step by step instruction by that was a mess also. After requesting further instruction from them I believe I was just ignored. Luckily, I had the experience of able to get into the registry and manually remove the software. The software was like a cancer on my machine, was everywhere! So, unless you are brave enough to go through the installation be my guest, but fair warning, you will be on your own to fix or even remove it. The only redeeming factor here was Cleverbridge, the outfit that processed the payment to Cyberlink. They were great, got my refund in record time. Cyberlink should take lessons from Cleverbrdige on customer service
