With fascinating objects up for bid in more than 50 countries—instantly translated to your language and currency—LiveAuctioneers is a worldwide marketplace with treasures waiting to be discovered, whether you're an avid collector or first-time visitor. By hosting thousands of auctions in real time via the Internet, the site allows unprecedented access to remote sales, and savvy bidders can often land desired items at very desirable prices. Leave an absentee bid, or fully engage in the live-auction action—it's up to you. All bidding takes place via a secure bidder network, which keeps your maximum bids for upcoming sales private until the item is opened on the day of the sale. LiveAuctioneers revolutionized the industry from the start. In 2002, the NYC-based company formed a marketing partnership with eBay to introduce eBay Live Auctions. This alliance of LiveAuctioneers and eBay enabled auction houses worldwide to go online with their live sales—a development that changed the auction business forever. In 2009, the debut of LiveAuctioneers' iPhone and Android apps, with live-bidding capabilities, opened up a new mobile pipeline to bid anytime, from anywhere, with complete anonymity. Since then, LiveAuctioneers has been the first to engage bidders with live streaming video, easy online payments, personalized search alerts, and more. Now in its second decade, LiveAuctioneers is the Web's leading auction-related site, with millions of qualified bidders. LiveAuctioneers also provides a constant stream of industry intelligence to auctioneers, collectors, museums, appraisers, consignors and more via: +The easy-to-use Auction Results Database, a vast database with more than 21 million results that offers keyword-search access to verified auction outcomes, recent to historical. The updated archive is the #1 free online resource for the trade, appraisers, collectors, designers, art institutions, estate officers, journalists, students and others on the research trail; +Auction Central News, the global destination for the latest auction headlines, mixing timely industry news with feature articles by experts on all things design; +The LiveAuctioneers Consignment Hub, an easy way for interested consignors to share their property for review and evaluation with thousands of auction houses in one spot. There are many ways to get started as a collector. You can browse curated auctions, find auctions near you, set up keyword search alerts, search, bid and win.

Great platform. I won’t buy from live auctioneers again unless the auction house has in house shipping. The live auctioneer shipping program is a joke. You charged me $75 to ship a small book. You should not allow auction houses to sell on your platform unless they have an in house shipping program.

Let me start by saying, LiveAuctioneers has been the absolute worst company to deal with. They are great if you’re not using their shipping option. I would advise to use private shipping over going through them. I had a very disappointing experience with LiveAuctioneers regarding a damaged item claim. Despite their stated policies around insured shipments, my case has gone unresolved for weeks with no meaningful progress.
Customer support repeatedly tells me they are “working with the shipping company,” but this appears to be a stalling response. There has been no clear update, no timeline, and no accountability. Communication has been inconsistent, and I’ve had to follow up multiple times just to get the same vague answer.
At this point, it feels like customers are left on their own when issues arise. Based on my experience, if you are expecting a timely resolution or reimbursement for damages, you may need to be prepared to escalate the matter further, potentially through formal channels like small claims court.
I would strongly caution others to consider this before purchasing their shipping for high-value or fragile items through this platform.
Update: Every time I leave them a bad review, they “we are very sorry about your recent experience, please don’t hesitate to reach out” as if I have not been reaching out on a weekly basis just to then not be responded to. Oh the representative that I have talked to over the past 2-3 months, Cherry, she says the same thing in every email too. Yet they drag their feet, in hopes that you give up and they can scam people out of money “100% insured” more like “100% insured to not be insured”. LiveAuctioneers has to be one of the top scammers. Let me start a business to just rip people off. What a joke

Purchased an item, paid around a thousand pounds, waited 2 weeks for the item, nothing comes. So I write them and learn that the item was lost so they cancelled the sale, but no one bothered to tell this to me. I wanted to leave a review for the auction house but somehow even though they are the ones cancelling the sale, I can't leave a review for he poor service. I wrote to liveauctioneers for this and no one even replied. I don't think this site is managed professionally and the whole experience is a waste of time.

My questions were answered in a timely manner. Errors in the images or descriptions were corrected promptly once notified. My calls were answered and the representative was informative, knowledgable and professional.

I pretty much always have a good experience with LiveAuctioneers and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for that special, hard to find, unique item that one simply must have !

No communication and Expensive!
Bought a vase on auction 11/29/25. The vase was $480, buyer's premium was $120. I understand all this. While there is a shipping fee, it was awful, awful, awful expensive to pay Live Auctioneers $162.00 for shipping. Even with all the packaging and insurance, there is no possible way that this costs more than $50 or $60 to ship. The vase is only 7 inches tall and perhaps 5 to 6 inches around. Then on top of this was an unknown processing fee for $32.10. Who knows what that was for, but I was not aware of it ahead of time. I also do not know why I was charged tax since Live Auctioneers is based out of New York and the auction itself was in New Jersey. I am in Missouri. When I deal directly with the auction houses I do not run into sales tax as all the auction houses I deal with are not in Missouri. All in all this $480 vase ($600 incl. buyer's premium) costed me $832.67. I would not have bought this vase had I known this would be almost double to purchase. Should have costed me about $650 with shipping. I had no communication either on when the item would ship, but yet my credit card got charged right off the bat! I had to email Live Auctioneers several days later as I hadn't received any communication at all about when my item would ship, tracking, etc.

I recently took part in and auction held by North American Auction Company. I made several bibs, two of them were the same as some on the floor. But I lost even thought my bid was I first. I WANT my Items!

When I reached out to North American Auction Co. There was no answer, I left a message. The following day a gentleman if you can call him that name Mark Markovich contacted me was extremely rude yelling and curding, I lost my temper to and just hung up. What a way to run a business.

It's a good and useful service. It's helped me track down silver made by my ancestors in auctions around the world. Lots I'd certainly have missed otherwise.
My only objection is the high buyers fees.

Estate Sale Warehouse never disappoints. Their high standards for professional integrity, reputable customer service, and quality goods make it easy to shop and buy with confidence. Friendly and convenient auction previewing and smooth transactions.

I have used LiveAuctioneers a couple of times now. You end up dealing with the individual auction house itself for questions, billing, shipping, etc. Each of the transactions has gone smoothly and I will continue to use the platform as a place to purchase art (the only purchases I have made and can speak to). Keep in mind, there are additional fees on top of the auction hammer price. This should be disclosed and available to find for each auction. In addition, be sure to check each auction's shipping policies. Overall, very happy with LiveAuctioneers.
