Highly recommend Lionrock

Lionrock was fantastic. Easy process to begin, flexibility on schedule, very good at letting me understand the "why", and Kim was so valuable to walk me through the process. I would highly recommend this program to those whom are wanting to see the old you in the mirror. I was tired of carrying around the weight of life and using unhealthy methods to cope.

My husband and I both used Lionrock. They canceled our programs because we live in Maine and they decided to no longer service our state. They also ended the Family Matters program which was excellent and provided mediocre at best transition services when deciding to no longer servicing us. My husband got better treatment elsewhere and is now 12 months sober,

Unconditional Support

Lionrock has been AMAZING since the first call. The amount of validation is untouched from what I have ever experienced. My group mates are people in my life I will hold onto for the rest of my life as we have connected on a deep level. My therapist is an amazing individual. She matches my energy and makes me laugh. She has help me tremendously with understanding my feelings.

I thought this company was in it to…

I thought this company was in it to help rehab people. They give you the whole background of the company. However, now I feel I need to get a lawyer as I’m not okay with the way they process insurance and payments. They will purposely wait several months to send anything or process anything before letting you know. You could be left with high bills you cannot afford and they are not worried about it. They just want their money which could drop a huge amount of stress on you. Really good strategy for a recovering person! I hope this isn’t happening to others but wouldn’t be surprised. Their billing seems almost fraudulent. I have been done since Feb of this year and they are emailing me about processing my claims?! Are you serious?!

I didn't want to rate too poorly…

I didn't want to rate too poorly because I never got to go through the program. They accepted me in and gladly took my insurance, but when it came to meeting with my therapist, she said that I didn't have enough sobriety and wanted me to go through a 30 day inpatient program first. I was very clear to the admit person that I was detoxing at home and using another provider for that. And what happened to meeting a person's needs? I felt an at home detox with LionRock counseling would be a good fit, but I'll never really know. Nobody seeking help should be denied treatment like that. Plus they didn't have a good reason for dismissing me, as they were very unclear with admit saying one thing and the clinician saying another. I felt an at home detox with LionRock counseling would be a good fit, but I'll never really know.

Refused to even talk to me because they didn’t not accept my insurance. It’s hard enough to reach out for help but who was to say I wasn’t going to pay out of pocket. They are in it for the wrong reasons.

LR was great until they sold. They took my $1000 deductible which should have covered my treatment throughout 2024, knowing that they were selling, and then abandoning me and most of my group members bc of where we live. They will be hearing from my attorney and i suspect many others

Health Balance Program

I started the Health Balance program thru Lionrock in July 2022. I completed the program in October 2023. My counselors - individual and group - were amazing. Their knowledge was amazing. I literally am alive due to this program. I have learned so much, and I have regained my relationships with my husband and adult children. Actually, they are better than they ever were. The phase work to me was a key part - and the work does not just relate to drinking, as overdrinking is just a symptom. I use the strategies I have learned every day. I will continue on my journey and will every be thankful I found this program that really focuses on harm reduction, reprogramming your thinking, starting new healthy habits and literally changing your relationship with alcohol.

My Experience with Lion Rock's IOP and…

My experience with Lion Rock's IOP and OP program was one of the most productive things I have ever done in my life! The staff was highly professional and knowledgeable. The curriculum was well designed and challenged me to truly learn about myself. The individual and group sessions were filled with valuable learning experiences and feedback from both the facilitators and group participants. I was a member of a women's group, and have made friends for a lifetime. From the Admissions Process to my Discharge, I give Lion Rock an A+!

This is "it".

Tried everything. The folks at Lionrock are caring, intensive, phenomenal, and to be blunt, 100% more effective than anything else I've encountered.
It's an absolute life-changing experience. I did 18 months of treatment, not because I was required to, because I knew I needed it, and I wanted to.

LionRock truly changed my life!

I entered treatment on my own accord, but was pretty terrified after all of the horror stories I had read about various scam programs online. I had several calls with different groups, all of which pressuring me into enrolling in an out-of-state in-patient facility- which a) would’ve cost me my job and b) I truly didn’t need. The second I reached out to LionRock I could feel they were different. I finally felt seen, heard, and cared for throughout the entire process and I truly enjoyed my time in the program. Yes, it’s a large time commitment, but it was 100% time well spent. My individual counselor “got me” immediately and I was amazed at how open I was able to be in my group sessions. The program not only helped me with my sobriety but in all aspects of my life and I will be forever grateful! My last day in “group” was truly bittersweet (I even got choked up in the end!) and a beautiful conclusion to my LionRock journey. I would recommend this program to anyone and everyone!

Paul was my instructor and he was just amazing . He told you what you needed to hear but he did it in a gentle living way. He reminded me of a father talking to one of his children . I really appreciate that . If I missed a class he reached out to check on me and make sure everything was ok. Paul you’re the raddest ! You are the reason we had the best class .

Great Remote IOP

I would highly recommend Lion Rock for anyone struggling with addiction and is unable to attend in person IOP/treatment. The staff really care about you and will be in your corner the entire time as you are on your journey.

No proof in this pudding…

My ex significant other went through the lion rock program. It seemed to help a tad at first but he drank through the program and they still gave him his certificate. He still drinks to this day. He’s befriended some of his “group” on social media and even met a girl who he said didn’t drink and held him accountable. Now they drink together. Pretty sure they also met through the program. Not entirely sure how someone can graduate a program that’s supposed to help them get sober while actively drinking.

Reply from Lionrock Recovery

Before addressing the core concern expressed in this review, I want to express my condolences to the reviewer on behalf of all of us at Lionrock for the situation with her ex-significant other. Many of us at Lionrock are in recovery ourselves and many are family members of people who have strugged with substances. We know firsthand how difficult it can be.

In contrast to other reviews here, this review is not from a verified Lionrock client. We have no way to identify the person described in the review nor verify that such person was ever a Lionrock client, and we have no way to verify any of the statements made by the reviewer. Further, because of privacy laws, we can not comment on any person’s treatment, including whether they are or were a Lionrock client. Even if we were able to identify the person the reviewer describes, we are prohibited by HIPAA from making any sort of response specific to any client publicly here or privately to the reviewer without the express consent of that client.

As of the day of this writing, Lionrock has received nearly 200 client reviews, nearly all of which come from verified Lionrock clients. The vast majority (92%) of these reviewers gave Lionrock the highest rating, 5 stars, and 4% more gave Lionrock 4 stars. We are focused and passionate about providing the highest quality care.

At Lionrock, we regularly and randomly screen clients for substance use during their treatment using both qualitative and quantitative tests. At the levels of care which Lionrock provides, a primary goal of these tests is to provide supportive feedback to the clients themselves and to anyone with whom they wish to share the results. Of course, Lionrock clinical staff review the test results, and a positive/dirty test prompts a clinical intervention. Lionrock neither represents itself nor believes it to be appropriate to act as a policing agent. Clients must take responsibiulity for their sobriety and recovery. If they make successful efforts to elude detection of their use, despite their professed desire to find recovery, it is possible that they require a higher level of care than Lionrock provides.

We have provided care at Lionrock since 2010, and our care produces strong outcomes. 80% of Lionrock clients responding to our surveys over the last eight years report being abstinent at 18 months post-discharge. We provide ongoing support to our clients through extended-care therapy sessions and a broad range of peer support groups. Substance use disorders are chronic conditions which require continuous vigilance to control. At Lionrock, we treat the whole person, including the co-morbid mental health disorders which almost always underlie substance use disorders.

In closing, again I offer our sympathies to the reviewer for her troubles. At Lionrock, we work hard every day to help the people whose struggles with substances can fuel the kind of problematic behaviors which the reviewer has experienced. With regard to her specific situation, because we are unable to identify the person about whom she writes, nor comment on any person’s involvement with Lionrock, wishing her well while providing general information about Lionrock’s treatment practices is the best we can do.

endlessly battling login algorithms

If recovery means to you endlessly battling login algorithms, worthless resets, and mindless support then this is the program for you! Dump your money in; they will gobble it up!
I have been blocked, denied, and disallowed for months. I have spent too much time just trying to access my account. I finally got in and things seemed to be okay then suddenly they blocked me again. I'm frustrated and fed up.

Reply from Lionrock Recovery

First, I apologize to the reviewer for his troubles accessing the support group meetings at lionrock.life. I know that, before he wrote this review, our support team communicated with him multiple times with the goal of fixing the problems he experienced. I’m sorry we were unable to resolve them to his satisfaction.

The problems the reviewer describes were experienced in Lionrock’s subscription-based peer support meetings service, not in Lionrock’s core substance use disorder treatment programs. The peer support meetings service has nearly 1,000 subscribers.

The right combination

The use of CBT, DBT, group and individual therapy seemed daunting at first but it turned out to be just right! My group and individual counselors were highly competent, compassionate, firm and curious. This program saved my life!

Lionrock was a great program!!

Lionrock was a great program to be a part of. The counselors were very friendly and easy to talk to. My group counselor Veronica is amazing and just a wonderful person. The program does a great job of working around your schedule and making the groups accessible for everyone, we did our group sessions through zoom so that made it easy to attend without having to drive somewhere. If I could, I would give them 10 stars. I was already sober since 2018 when I took the program and I was still able to learn new things and coping strategies. The program was actually a joy to be a part of and went seemed to go by fairly quickly just because of how accepting everyone was. It's good to be able to talk with people who understand what you're going through and are struggling with.
