Beautiful rugs, but disappointed with durability and ease of maintenance
EDIT: We have received a reimbursement from Linie Design, and though our particular label does not prohibit spot cleaning, we've been advised not to try cleaning the rug at all with any consumer products to ensure the colors won't spread. So be careful and contact Linie Design when in doubt.

We have purchased two identical Linie Design wool rugs from Vepsäläinen in Finland. They are beautiful rugs, but unfortunately they are not made to last, as the colors are not sealed in the wool yarn, as should be in any good quality wool rug. The first rug was discoloured from natural white to a pinkish hue when cleaned professionally. The second one was discoloured when cleaning a spot with a product made for cleaning stains on wool rugs, as the color from the black yarn spread in the whites.
TLDR; Linie cuts corners by not sealing colors in the wool, and thus their rugs won't stand normal use for more than a couple of years.

We are sorry to hear that you have experienced discoloration after cleaning. Our rugs are crafted with great care and made from natural materials, but colorfastness can be affected by the method and products used for cleaning.
We would like to take the rugs back for inspection, as it appears that the cleaning may not have been carried out correctly. This will allow us to assess the issue more closely and determine an appropriate solution.

We’re very happy that we’ve found a solution to this problem together.
As we informed in our resent correspondence, the chemistry used for spot cleaning this rug is not recommended by Linie Design.
Linie Design do only recommend that our rugs are washed flat by a professional.
This is stated on all our labels, and we must emphasize that any other cleaning method will void the claim.
As agreed, we have ex. gratia offered you a new carpet at a greatly reduced price and we sincerely hope you will be happy with this.
