Bad service, rubbish products!
Purchased a bathroom light fitting from this company. It failed after only a few months. Contacted the company a few times for replacement. No reply! So much for a 12 month warranty. Bad service, cheap shoddy products. Avoid!
Abysmal communication
Ordered a couple of lights for my DIY job. They didn't turn up after a week so I got on touch (shouldn't have to), they said they were waiting on a delivery. I left it another week, still no contact, so I got on touch again and said they'd been let down by supplier. They told me they issued a refund but still haven't received it a week later..
Can't help supply issues but communication is abysmal. I suggest their stock/order management system and customer service isn't up to the job and they don't have a clue what's going on if anything goes wrong.

Avoid at all costs. Paid for item, no confirmation, no despatch, no contact from them when asked for an update on the order.
Failure to deliver.
Order placed and acknowledged on 28/02/2024. No sign of despatch by 12/03/2024. Email enquiring about delivery date produced zero response. Payment refunded by Pay Pal.
Seems par for the course with this firm, best avoided I think. We really need a zero star option on here don't we?

No confirmation email received after 5 days so follow up call made.
No apology but advised of despatch on the 13th Feb. Wrong bulbs received (360 lumen not 520 lumen) on the 18th Feb.
Further call made (again no apology) but advised correct bulbs would be despatched.
20th Feb email received (with apology!) advising replacements despatched.
23rd Feb replacement bulbs arrived. These are 550 lumen not 520 lumen. I have now given up!
Price increase after order
Bought 2 LED site loghts online. Email received saying units incorrectly priced online and I need to pay another £80.
Dont use them as the price advertised was incorrect.
Payment return will take 3 days, yet payment taken at time of order!

ZERO STARS! AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! I ordered and paid for 4 fluorescent bulbs from their site that was showing them as in stock. Two days later, they email me saying "Stock due 22/01/2024", which is SEVEN WEEKS AWAY. I responded immediately saying that is too long to wait and that I want a refund (as set out in their own policy). I get NO RESPONSE. CRICKETS! Thankfully I used PayPal, so I raised a refund claim through them.

Bought 7 light bulbs 30 November 2022, first one i put in blew straight away, as soon as i turned on the light (i have no problems with the fixtures and fittings in my house), the others lasted a couple of months and the last one i put in blew after 3 days, customer service appalling, not friendly or helpful attitude, told me to buy LED's if i want a bulb with a warranty, apparantly even the cheapest incandescent bulbs are meant to run for 1000 hrs at least. No refund, apology or replacement offered as she said was over 6 months ago.
Very Happy With Buyer Experience
Ordered two 40w Golfball size dimmable bulbs BC B22 then looked at reviews and saw they were no favourable. My experience was 100% good. I ordered the bulbs, received a confirmation email, then two days later I received the correct two bulbs packaged very well in lots of bubble-wrap and they bulbs are exactly what I wanted.
Incredibly poor customer service
I ordered a dozen light bulbs from Light Shop Direct recently as they looked good value. They arrived in entirely inappropriate packaging and, surprise, surprise, six were broken.
When I pointed this poor customer service to LSD I received a very defensive reply telling me that they think how they do everything is just fine. To be fair, I received a refund, though not for 50% of the order. I will never use them again.

I ordered 4 small halogen bulbs on March 3, paying extra £9.50 for "Delivery. (UPS/DPD signed for delivery)", within 5 working days. They arrived by standard Royal Mail large letter post on March 23. It was not what I paid for.

Order took a week to be sent. When it arrived it was incomplete. I emailed about this and was sent a refund for the missing items without explanation or apology. Very poor.
Ordered some LED bulbs...
Ordered some LED bulbs. In stock according to their site. Took payment immediately. 2 weeks later they said the item was out of stock with no expected replenishment date. They offered an alternative product but the specification wasn't a great match for my requirement so I declined. At my request they have cancelled my order and refunded me. Currently waiting for the money to hit my account.

Don't hold your breath for a refund
I placed an order and was informed it was despatched the day after. It never arrived but Light Shop Direct told me I would have to wait until they heard back from Royal Mail before they would refund my payment. I had to take out a dispute with PayPal in order to get a refund which has only just been made - 5 weeks later. Dreadful customer service and appalling attitude. Will never use this company again.
Terrible terrible company to buy from
If I could give zero stars I would have. Terrible company. I bought a bathroom fan extractor and questioned why it wasn’t what I expected. The response was more or less they couldn’t care less. When an electrician came to install it and couldn’t get it working I contacted Lightshopdirect and asked for my money back. They told me Inhad passed the return date… Don’t ever buy anything from this company

I got a partial refund eventually. Just like all the other reviewers, I would recommend that you avoid this company and buy your electrical items from a reputable company, which Lightshopdirect are clearly not !
