Not happy at all. They made an error on my return, missed tax I had paid on my CPP.I called about it and was told they would call me back later that day. After 2 business days I had to call them again to get it looked after and that was on April 28.I know it is their busiest time but I needed to know that this was looked after because I had to pay and didn't want to be late. They gladly took my $115 and no real apologies or discount was offered. She made the excuse that the government made it more difficult for her this year.I think she was more interested in her Ice Cappuccino than my tax return.Yarmouth N.S. location.

Save yourself.

I could write a long story about the last three years of working with liberty tax. However, I will save you the time of my very poor experience. Do not engage with liberty Tax.
You will lose.

Liberty Tax New Westminster beware

This was my last experience with Liberty Tax New Westminster at 595 6th Street 604.210.6229 and I would like the main company to be aware.

I dropped my package on Thurs Mar 13th 2025, like all the previous years. All written out and with all the tax pages ready.
I was told at that time it should take 7 - 10 days to complete.
I went in on Sun Mar 30th and was told that it was still being processed.
The gentleman working in the 1st office behind reception said he would do it right away and email me my documents by docusign by the end of the day.

I went in on Sat Apr 5th. I was told by reception that my file was still in progress.
She then called someone outside and they conversed for a bit.
After a wait, she printed off the top sheets of my report and told me the amount I was to pay.
She then handed my the card reader to tap out. She sat there waiting for me to pay. no other words were spoken

she printed out my top sheets and I asked where my documents were.
She said they were not in the office and that I would have to come back, she would call me when they were in

She then told me "at least I am getting a nice return"

I left but came back shortly and asked to make a appointment to talk with the manager
I was told that I have to email him directly and She gave me his card.

I attempted to email the manager 3 times from 2 different email addresses, but they all bounced back.

On Mon Apr 7th I received a call that my documents were in.
I came in on Tues Apr 8th and asked if I could talk to a manager or owner.
The receptionist took down my name and number and said she would pass it along to an owner to give you a call to discuss.

On Wed April 16th I came back into the office and luckily a manager was at the front desk.

I talked to them and they apologized for what had happened and said they would do my return next year for free.

This year I went in and they said it had been taken over by new management and that they asked me to send an email to them to tell them what happened and they would discuss.

I went back in 2 weeks after I dropped my taxes and they said they would not honor last managements mistakes.
I had to pay full price.

thank you for reading

Run far far away!

Run far far away!! Liberty tax is now using dc bank to load your refund onto. Once your money is on that card good luck getting it back. I used H&R blick who used dc bank and over 1 year later I am still fighting for my money! H&R Block learned their lesson and no longer uses them that's why they are at Liberty tax.

Don't believe the paid reviews

Don't believe the paid reviews. This company is shit. I called with a simple tax issue and they told me they wouldn't help. They also won't give you a straight rate of billing.

I have worked with some of the top firms in the financial space and when these amateurs told me I traded crypto??? I was baffaled. I only approached them when I went to the M&M market and figured I could get my taxes done.

DON'T DON'T DON'T use them.

I was VP of Capmor Financial Services, ComFact Corporation, and Eco Oils Corporation. I have dealt with horrible and good companies. This one if they did dog trimming I wouldn't leave my dog. PLEASE go to HR Block.

I've been a client at Liberty Tax 8400…

I've been a client at Liberty Tax 8400 Wyandotte St. East, Windsor location for the last five years. Subsequently; the last four years have been successful, there were no issues. I'm content the business was sold. This year's experience will be my last.

John who did my taxes this year, is the definition of, "Incompetent". He was very unorganized, had issues stapling three papers together. I was not sure whether this task would be successfully completed.

Regardless, I paid the fee and walked out thinking my taxes would be filed that day. However; I see incompetence from a distance and knew that John was just a disaster at his profession!

I called back over a week later it was around 10:05 a.m. keep in my mind that day the office opened at 9:00 a.m. John picked up the phone. I asked him if he filed my taxes after I left his office over a week ago. John the liar that he is, told me he just filed my taxes that morning. What are the odds?

Either John is the most unorganized, incompetent, worker that ever worked at Liberty Tax or the greatest liar ever, to an individual he thinks is stupid! I wasn't buying his story.

Subsequently; I was transferred over to their manager, can't even spell his name and it doesn't matter! I wanted to give them a rating of zero stars!

Moral of the story, DO NOT GO TO LIBERTY TAX EVER!
Go spend $19.99 do it yourself DO NOT GO TO LIBERTY TAX!

Liberty Tax discriminating against anyone in Consumer Proposal

Well this not only a warning to would-be customers but advice to Liberty Tax Corporate office..if they have one. Same scenario as H&R Block but at least this time we avoided the wasted time of going through all the steps leading up to uktimately same result: That Liberty Tax refuses to proceed with Instant Cashback offer due to one being in Consumer Proposal. The idea behind filing a CP versys Bankruptcy is that one is not running away from obligations. However these companies like Liberty Tax actually infringe on ones liberties. In a Consumer Proposal all tax refunds are redirected to any debts or to a trustee but go directly to the tax payer. At time of filing no taxes are owed either! In summary a Consumer Proposal is being UNJUSTLY viewed as in same manner as a Bankruptcy. While both seen as INSOLVENCY a CP should never be seen as a stumbling block to a tax refund!

Incompetent in Vernon, BC

Vernon, BC Canada office. Dropped off my paperwork for an urgent supplemental reassessment that needed to be resubmitted. Even though I called about progress weekly, Chad never got back to me even though I was told he got the messages. After 6 weeks of no contact, I had to go to a different tax expect to file an appeal and refile. Chad did not even have the curtesy to contact me and tell me he was too inexperienced to handle my case. Would 100% not recommend.

Paid for Tax Services, Got Nothing but Stress and Loss

I hired Tax Liberty in Thornhill, Ontario to handle both my company’s tax filings (Servendez Inc.) and my personal taxes. What I experienced was nothing short of a nightmare.

Despite paying several invoices on time—including duplicate charges with the same invoice number—the promised services were never delivered. The CRA later confirmed that nothing had been filed, leaving my business at risk of dissolution. To make matters worse, Tax Liberty kept issuing invoices with identical numbers (70819), on different dates, for different services. This is not just sloppy bookkeeping—it looks like a deliberate way to confuse or overcharge clients.

When I confronted the company, I was met with denial. Paula Hart, the accountant originally handling my file, disappeared from the office, and when I tried to resolve things with the manager, I was dismissed. Instead of offering a refund, they threatened me when I insisted on accountability.

In the end, I had to pay another accounting firm to clean up the mess Tax Liberty left behind. That meant double payment for the same work—real money out of my pocket, plus months of stress and wasted time.

After researching further, I discovered I am not alone. Many other reviews tell the same story: promises made, money taken, and services never delivered.

I am sharing my experience so others don’t fall into the same trap. Do not trust Tax Liberty in Thornhill. They took my money, failed to deliver, and left me with serious consequences.

Liberty Tax Services located in…

Liberty Tax Services located in Washington, Pa

This place has prepared my taxes two times. The only person working in this old tattoo shop now known as Liberty Tax Service is not ethical.

The first time she prepared my taxes, she asked to rate her service online asking for at least 5 stars.

The preparation of my taxes were reasonable and she seemed genuine.

By the next tax season, something changed.
She looks at the last years preparation (that she prepared) and says she must have been in a great mood to offer such a low ball cost to do my taxes.

I explain that it shouldn't be more than $300 to do my taxes this year. She agrees and takes over $600 once my refund comes to my bank account.

These Tax preparation people are making so much money from us. Their website even states the preparers don't even have to be credentialed in the Tax Service.

This means they don't always know the tax rules!

Don't get taken advantage of.

Been coming to this company for several years now prices were very reasonable for me at senior 77 years old. Went back this year cost me 150 outrageous for what they do. I have asked the gentlemen why such a big increase from the previous years. He tells me royalty fees, computer program updates. I never heard of such shit and salaries for employees. It’s all a bunch of bull crap.
