I was very doubtful at first about the loan processs, but it all worked it smoothly.

This is your run of the mill extremely high-cost merchant cash advance company. That's not my issue with them because as a business owner, you review the contract and sign of your own free will... so you can't blame a company for having rates you willingly agree to.

My issue is the unwillingness to honor clauses in *their* contract they drafted up themselves. Why put something in a contract if it doesn't actually apply? I wouldn't recommend any small business sign on with them for this reason alone.

Their contract has a clause in which they state as "protection for the seller" that as a business owner, you have the right to request an adjustment of the remittance amount (in the case of slower sales, for example). Nowhere in the contract does it say you have to wait a specific amount of time or complete a certain amount of payments before requesting such. All they request is proof that your receipts are lower than they were at the time of signing...

I provided the statements they requested and received a rude, abrupt response telling me that my remittance amount cannot be adjusted because only X amount of remittances have been made thus far. No further comments or alternative solutions to help my business were provided, they're clearly in the business of bankrupting small companies who come to them because they have no other option.

Luckily for me, the end of year holiday period is when I do up to 30% of my annual sales all at once, so within just a few weeks I will pay the loan off and be free of them. With that being said, even with an early payoff incentive, I would have paid these people over 30% cost on a loan I would have had for less than 2 months. If you're a struggling small business owner... I would earnestly suggest you close your business before you take money from them.

My business has closed due to me having some serious unforeseeable health issues that caused hospitalizations, which in turn decline in my presence. Before signing in what I now realize the contract that I went over with the broker and was given completely inaccurate information, post default I have now been informed by the very aggressive collections that they will enforce a COJ on me as well as that I am personally liable for the money of the MCA, which has been "accidentally" referred to as a loan by more than 3 people representing them. When I read the words Personal Guarantee of Performance, I inquired about it before signing and was told it did not mean I would be personally liable as it was a purchase of future sales. I am now being told that I am %100 percent liable and it doesn't matter that my business is closed. In the words or the agent, "The broker does not work for Legend and it doesn't matter what they said, you should have understood what you were agreeing to."

Business/ Dreams have gone up in smoke, health sunk, and now they are coming for the personal finances as well.

This is a preditory company.

I just want any other first time buisness owners to be aware and take complete caution. Go the longer route.
