Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 22 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant disappointment with the quality of the products, noting issues such as cushions losing shape, fabric pilling and fading prematurely, and leather cracking or peeling within a short period. Reviewers also felt that the pricing was too high for the quality received, often describing the furniture as "junk" despite its cost. The warranty process was a major source of frustration, with many reporting difficulties in getting repairs or replacements, and some even being told their issues were not covered despite paying for extended warranties. Some people were also dissatisfied with the service, experiencing long waits for repairs, unhelpful responses, and problems with incorrect orders or designs that clashed with their existing furniture.

Electronics are cheap junk

We purchased a $2,500 electric reclining chair. After four years, the electronic switch burnt out. I contacted lazy boy who declined to fix it under warranty or repair it. They basically fobbed us off and told us to get lost.

I decided to take matters into my own hands and discovered that the mechanism they use costs $US5 to replace.

They use cheap junk electronics in their “premium” furniture. What absolute BS!

Terrible company I would buy nothing from them

From being a good sofa company to company that reminds me of low quality made in China products.
Got to cheep and cheerful Costco three-piece it lasted for years no problems. Replaced it with two three seater recliners and what pile of junk the explanation from the rip of Britain regularly reviewed changed its name Emmira group is settlement this is why you sink in the seats and they have become deformed and the leather has stretched. Keep well away from lazy Boy unless you enjoy having problems.

My brand new $3200.00 lift recliner

I was given a brand new $3200.00 lift recliner. The chair remote does not work each time - I think there is a short in the cord. During this 5-day power outage, I could not get the battery feature to work either - even with brand new batteries. I called the Customer Service for Houston, TX area. That phone call was the rudest, worst call I have ever had in my 75 years! She was demeaning, rude, and totally must absolutely hate her job! I can't even express how bad it was - I could not get her to listen to me. She expressed her thoughts that the chair had gotten wet during the hurricane - I was trying so hard to get a word in but she over-talked me, was ruder by the minute and actually told me the sales people who sold the chair did not know what they are talking about and know nothing about the chairs! I tried to explain that being disabled, I had had several lift chairs over the years - but that she laughed at! She finally set a date for a service person to come look at the chair - and promptly hung up on me! This conversation was heard by 3 other people in my home - they were absolutely blown away! I won't let anyone buy or give me a Lazyboy ANYTHI/NG again!!

Lazyboy lazy staff

Go to pick up a chair at Castle Hill Lazyboy
Apparently payment not cleared as they use an overseas bank that can take up to 5 days or they stiff you with fees for credit card
Sould have advised us of their bank failures up front

Expensive rubbish

We bought 2 leather riser recliner chairs 8 years ago at a cost of £3000. They are absolute rubbish . Leather is peeling off arms and back. Contacted company who suggested we get onto repair company. Expensive rubbish, won’t buy again.

Experience with Lazyboy bonded leather…

Bought office chair with bonded leather 18 years ago. The chair was easy to assemble and adjust and was very comfortable. The bonded leather looked like new for about 14 yrs of use two to three hours a day when the arm rests started to desquamate, They were easily covered by inexpensive covers and the seat leather lasted a couple of years more. Feel this is excellent durability

Not a quality product, doesn’t stand by their product

I bought a leather swivel recliner in 2021. It is getting a tear on the back where the framework appears to be too sharp underneath. Sent pictures but they will not do anything because it is beyond the 1 year warranty. I did pay extra for an extended warranty which covers consumer damage. Plus you need to pay for the service call. I wish I didn’t buy a Lazyboy and warranty.

Not what it used to be

Not what it used to be! Had two wall hugger recliners for 25 years. Finally bought 2 new one's. Both were sewed terribly, had gatherings, puckering on the arms and seat/foot rest. Took 3 months to get. Called, complained...they ordered new parts (took 6 weeks to get), new are just as bad as the original, which is nothing like the floor model! Sending new parts again (another 6 weeks)...hoping the new one's are made better. For the money paid, just not impressed at this point. Worried about how well they will hold up, even if the parts are good the next time around.

Expected so much better form a big brand

We have had our two three seater setees for eight years. They cost approximately £3000 each. We chose dark brown and for the last couple of years the colour has rubbed off. We expected buying top quality furniture would last but now they have become an embarrassment when we have visitors. Soooo disappointed.

Purchased a lazy boy 2 years ago still awaiting money back

Purchased a lazy boy 2 years ago. Incorrectly stuffed in more ways than one. Returned 2 years ago. Rang continuously for two years got not where. They do not pay their delivery drivers. And now claim I did not return the chair, and to show proof. Numerous computer entries made to back my claim up by one person only and not by Natalie the manager of Jindalee store. Nightmare all round. Avoid the company. Take pics for verification. Return promptly if any issues. If you deal with them. My advice DONT.

The WORST!

The WORST!! Spent over $6K on a loveseat and sofa. Cushions shot within 2 weeks. They will only replace the worn cushions. There are only 2 of us, so the unused cushions are probably just as bad. We've only had these for a month! We have to wait at least another month for the replacement cushions then who knows how long before they'll actually come replace them. Just go somewhere else!! These are not like your parent's La-Z-Boy! The company has gone to Sh**!

Leather type material stared to peel…

Leather type material stared to peel and rip in less than a year. also the heater stopped working at about a year then one and then the second vibrate motors were not working by a year and a half, I had the extended warranty but Lazy boy would not repair. They said they would offer me some money for the chair but not the full amount. Never Hurd from them again. Most expensive piece of junk furniture I have ever bought. Avoid this company. this happened a few years ago now. extended warranty is expired as well.

Dont bother.....Lazyboy arnt Lazyboy anymore. They are Wawyboy from China.

Had 2 Hollywods within 8 month both imploded destroying the cheap wood frames that are supposed to support the strong seat springs. The springs ripped through the cloth when this happened.
Upgraded to an Empire and arrived looking ok till we looked closer.
3 seater power recliner, footrests not sewn together properly, the add-on recliner doesnt sit correctly(it comes as a 2 with 3rd joined on),the seems across the 3 seats dont line up by an inch per chair and the plastic guard on scissor movement not attached.(engineer cable tied it when he came to 'repair' it.
SCS have reordered the whole suite AGAIN.
CHINESE RUBBISH...

I needed repair on my Lazy Boy recliner…

I needed repair on my Lazy Boy recliner couch. Their warranty only covers parts after 1 year and their labor charge is $160/hr. To get a repair I had to provide $170 in advance. On the promised day of service the repair person was due between 11:00 and 2:15. Then I received an email changing this to from 2:45 to 5:45. Then the repair person never came. However, he called at 8:15 pm. I am no longer young and Lazy Boy just stole one day out of my life. Lazy Boy can no longer be considered a preferred brand. Forget the repair, I will buy a NEW COUCH AND NOT FROM LB. This is a shame since I have been LB customer for 30 years.

Extremely poor quality

My late husband purchased a La-Z-Boy chair for me for Mother's Day. I had that chair for over 40 years and only gave it up because the fabric did not completely cover the space from the chair to the foot rest so my dog could not sit there without falling through the space. I bought a new La-Z-Boy and with in the one year warranty I had to have the fabric replaced. It was completely worn through. My chair is now two years old and completely in tatters. The fabric is completely worn out and full of holes after normal wear and tear. I will never again purchase a La-Z-Boy.
