Skin Clinics 98 Bath Street
Skin Clinics at 98 Bath Street Glasgow was not my best experience and I was glad when it finished. Although their web address is laserskinuk/.co.uk, they call themselves Skin Clinics. I have found a couple of other skin clinics for this address - are they the same? Not sure. They also called themselves Aura Clinic when I first attended!
I had bought a Groupon voucher for laser hair removal. They changed and cancelled appointments so I was going at different intervals - this was less than satisfactory. When I started, I said I had a deadline, and would probably need the treatment every 3 weeks. They agreed it would be possible. 21 weeks later, I had my 6th and last appointment. The first 3 appointments were 3 weeks apart. The next was 7 weeks later. The final 2 were 4 weeks later each.
At one point, I was told that the electricity in the building had to be repaired and so there was a delay of 7 weeks until the next appointment.
They gave very little advice about how to prepare for my first appointment and how to manage direct sun. I told them I was about to go on a holiday to Europe in the summer, and they did not say I should avoid direct sunlight. In fact, I had to look all of this up on Google myself and subsequently delayed my first appointment.
I found the manager/ receptionist, who told me she had a medical background, very pushy and somewhat rude. To start with, she also gave me inaccurate information, e.g. she said it would be okay to pluck hair before the appointment as the machines were very good. My understanding is that you don't do this. You shave it instead.
The atmosphere in the clinic felt quite dead and lacking in welcome. The telephone service left a lot to be desired - I often got transferred to a private number instead of just being able to leave a message on a business number. This sometimes felt quite awkward when I felt I was intruding into the other person's private life. It would be good practice to have a business number with an answering machine.
The clinic tried on a number of occasions to get me to buy another Groupon voucher. I was told I would get a good deal if I bought it now! When I looked at Groupon, I saw that they were still trying to sell vouchers. I wouldn't recommend this place to any friend of mine.
