Contaminated sets, zero service, just lost money - really awful experience :(
I'd ordered two mushroom growsets, the delivery took a little while but the service team kept me in the loop - so far so good. One of the sets, however, wasn't a "cake" on arrival, the box was simply full of loose coir. Still, I thought, fine, maybe it was very freshly injected with spores and with time the mycelium would grow properly, the way I know it. But, alas, the only thing that happened was both sets developing a very funny smell, and one of them even mold. At first I thought maybe it was me who caused the contamination but:
- I had rigorously complied with hygiene measures while handling the sets
- had handled several growsets in my life without contam
- AND, I'd handled a third set which I'd received from another seller, at exactly the same time, and there was zero contamination.
So, me as the source of the trouble, was extremely unlikely and I was optimistic when writing to the service team about the contaminated sets. After receiving no response, I'd resent my message. This was last fall - zero response to this day, so it looks like the only thing I can do now is write this review to help other not to make my mistake! You'll be better off ordering from other sources. My experience here was: contaminated sets, zero service, waste of money, and just feeling powerless.
