Serious safety concerns and disappointing customer treatment

I am beyond disappointed with both the product quality and the way KYS treats its customers.

1. Product Quality & Safety:
The build quality of the KYS Vero 500 Pro is poor: massive, uneven gaps and wobbly, off-center knobs, despite being promised that these prototype issues would be fixed in the final version. More alarmingly, during the burn-in process, the oven emitted heavy smoke and a pungent smell of burning plastic for over 45 minutes. Even with windows open and fans running, it felt unsafe to continue. This is a serious red flag for an appliance designed for high temperatures.

Furthermore, I noticed black soot deposits on the front edge of the Biscotto stone. Since the oven was empty during the initial heat-up, these residues likely stem from the burning plastic components. Consequently, I consider my oven unsafe for food preparation, as I cannot rule out chemical contamination from these fumes.

2. Communication & Censorship:
When I tried to address these issues in the official Facebook KYS Community group, my post was deleted from KYS and I was banned from the KYS Community group immediately. No one reached out to help, they simply silenced the criticism. Furthermore, the customer service line is unreachable, and my requests for a callback have been ignored.

Summary:
KYS fails to deliver the promised quality and, even worse, seems to actively suppress critical customer feedback instead of solving technical problems. Given the safety risks and the lack of support, I cannot recommend this product.

Update: They finally replied. No one knows who banned me or why, and they’re "considering" reversing the defective unit. But that’s it so far, though. No return label or further info... the conversation just ended there.

Top product

Top product. Very powerfull, easy to use, low noise level, stabil, doesn't move around when processing heavy dough. Worth every euro!

Terrible customer service

KYS is basically selling rebranded ZBX Appliances mixers, which is not a bad thing, but they sell them way overpriced and their customer service is terrible. After using my mixer twice there was an issue and last three weeks KYS has done very little to solve this. Basically if you have an issue with one of their machines you’re on your own. They promise to send spare parts and never do. But for the price you’re paying you should not even be asked to fix the machine yourself.

horrible after sale service

Very good mixeur but unfortunately, the worst after sale service ever..... 2 months to get mine, 2 weeks of use and an other 2 month to get a new card because it was broken.... but it wasn't the only part broken... because the mixeur is still not working.... 4 messages with video no answer.... Yes, I can say they do not care about customer

I love that this mixer is so solid and…

I love that this mixer is so solid and appears to be easy to use. Unfortunately, it has some issues probably in transit. The smaller lever on the side is sheared off at the connection. The handle on top is missing and no manual. Does not turn on. Hoping to figure this out.

I'm outraged at how this company is…

I'm outraged at how this company is run.
My Kys Pro Baker Easy 5 arrived broken right away.
They offered to send me replacement parts and arrange for the assembly myself.
Why should I bother repairing something that arrived broken and that I paid so much to receive in working order?
After a few emails, they disappear.
I'll have to take legal action; these people don't deserve to get away with it.

New or Used or...China?

I was sold a product as new when it actually turned out to be used (damaged box and dirty machine). Fortunately, serious customer service offered me a full refund. In my opinion, their machines are produced in China (on famous wholesale sites you can find identical ones at half the price) and then branded.

The mixer is amazing

The mixer is amazing. My only complaint is the recipe book isn’t available in English. I was expecting it to take several weeks to arrive, but I ordered on Saturday and it was doto my house in Maine on Friday. Would absolutely buy again.

This is a fantastic machine

For kneading dough, this spiral mixer is fantastic. Simple to use, and super quiet and the gluten development is like no other mixer.

The product has excellent build quality…

The product has excellent build quality and feels very solid and well-made. It operates very quietly during use, which makes it comfortable to have running even for extended periods. Additionally, it produces very little vibration, contributing to a smooth and stable performance. Overall, it is a high-quality product that delivers reliable and efficient operation

Excellent functionality equipment

Excellent functionality equipment. Little rough around the corners but acceptable. My only complaint is the weight. Someone can look around and reduce the weight without loosing the quality of the equipment will be appreciated by everyone.

The dougt mixer is amazing

The dougt mixer is amazing - powerfull, quiet, stilish. The buttons are of very high quality and pleasant to turn. And most important is that a dought comes out perfectly mixed. That can not be done with a classic home mixer.

Follow-up Review

I bought a ProBaker 7 Plus at the Black Friday sale. Other than an immediate confirmation and order number, no further communication was forthcoming. I had to email them regularly to track the status of my order. Promises that it will be sent soon were made, and excuses of "high volume logistics due to Black Friday sales", etc. Only today, after once again asking, did I receive a formal reply that they oversold and cannot fulfill my order. I now have to wait another 2-4 weeks (which I find hard to believe due to the Christmas and New Year holidays on hand) for their production process to deliver new units. Altogether, a very disappointing and unprofessional Customer Service process. I can only hope that once I do receive the product, it lives up to its name.
The company's response to my initial negative 2-Star review was to be expected: A stock Standard response from a marketing manual on how to talk to disgruntled clients, trying to appease them. At least they did respond.

Follow-up Review 01/01/2026: My order eventually arrived on 30 December 2025. The unit was solidly packed and supported in a thick polystyrene packaging. No damage at all, everything was intact and worked perfectly from the start. I mixed my first batch of 1800g dough. The machine is as quiet as everyone says, and the bowl, mixing spiral, and rod of solid stainless steel. The construction of the unit is exceptionally well done. It weighs a whopping 29kg thus is not going to be moved around much! The mixing process is marred by one factor: Once the guard is lifted and the machine stops, the speed is reset to zero and one has to set the speed and start again every time. More of a nuisance factor than a negative feature. Otherwise, an excellent piece of equipment. Well done Kys Norway! The machine is worth 5 Stars.
Now, please go and sort out your abysmal Customer Service process. And please get it right on Black Friday 2026; you have 11 months to do it…Love and happy breads from Cape Town.
