This company has no customer service, they re run your bank info without making you aware there was a problem in the first place , then call you threating you as if you owed them for years, a one month fee was due, after paying several charges from them re running the account info 3 times, they give you no training on the EMS system so you dont even know what your fees or balance due are until they call threating to close your account, worst scamming processing company ever, dont not for any reason deal with them, you will be sorry, filing BBB and attorney general complaint also today.
They took money without asking and i cant get through to get a refund and my bank cant do anything

I am only giving EMS a 1 star because there is nothing lower. The company engages in shady business practice full of hidden fees and when you cancel, they hold all your reserve funds for 120 days. They also make it difficult to cancel.

Warning! Stay away from EMS aka Electronics Merchant Systems. Very shady company with scammy business practices. I had no idea I was even doing business with EMS until it was time to cancel my merchant account. $595 CANCELLATION FEE and auto-renewal of contract! I thought I originally signed up for a merchant account with "StartMerchant" but found out my account was actually sold to this company EMS. Buried in fine print on their crooked "contract" is an exorbitant and ridiculous $595 cancellation fee. And there is also a 2 years "automatic renewal" of the contract, meaning they are going to try to stick you with this fee no matter what! Was paying insane monthly fees on an account I wasn't even using, and then to add insult to injury they try to charge you $600 just to cancel your account. Stay away from this disgusting company at all costs! Even trying to get in touch with someone to try to cancel your account is a nightmare and they make it difficult by design!

After I had to send treating messages and left negative reviews, they finally responded and said their was a “ glitch” in their system and the returned the $750.00 dollars taken out of my business account. They processed another payment for $1,000 never deposited that into the business account ran the payment Jan 2nd. They said they required additional information of the customer and that was provided to them never released the funds. I would not recommend this is a payment gateway to be used for your business! especially if you offer services such as construction Moving or any contractor work. Because I will let you know if you use this payment gateway when you charge the customer they will not release the funds to the business they hold them. They tried to say this was in the original payment terms I signed however I would have never moved forward with this service because they are holding small businesses processed payments for as long as they wish to, for no reason, and I’m sure if people knew this they would not use them to process any of their payments because how are you supposed to operate a small business when the merchant itself holds the funds and never releases them..

They stole our money. Mid august they want us to sign new contracts we decided not to, and they stopped sending our daily remittances. It's now mid October and they owe us over 12K and won't even reply to messages and emails to send the cash. I filled out and signed their forms they wanted to close the account- even though their advertising says "other companies charge cancellation fees as high as $250" they are wanting to share us $599 for each of our 3 locations. We are a small business and cant make payroll because of this. Unethical doesn't even come close to what these people are. They are embezzlers and thieves.

Closed my account 2 months ago due to the sale of my company to new owners and had the new owners agree a new contract with EMS but I've still been charged every month since
1st month been charged £99.62
2nd month been charged £53.08
This is theft and how this company operated not a good experience to be honest and will never recommend them to anyone ever keep away from EMS bunch of conartist

EMS is by far the worst merchant services company I have ever dealt with. They'll shut down your account unexpectedly and hold your funds. I strongly advise other business owners to steer clear of EMS. Their lack of communication and unreasonable policies can easily burn your business to the ground. Save yourself the headache and find a more reliable payment processor.

I regret that I can't score them a zero star rating. This processor is HORRIBLE. Do not use this company if you want to ever see your sales proceeds again. Their "Risk Department" is awful. They will lock up your funds for virtually any reason, hold them for 180 days, and refuse to explain why, in blatant violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Their "risk specialists" use fake names and refuse to identify themselves so that you have difficulty launching a complaint against them. They assess arbitrary "risks" for the sole reason of holding your funds as long as possible so that they can maximize earned interest for themselves on your money. This company has cost us thousands of dollars in lost revenue by forcing us to delay launching our solutions until we knew our revenues wouldn't be held up. If you are one of many affected by this company, I suggest you do as we have and report them to the BBB, the US Federal Trade Commission and the US Attorney General's Office. I also suggest you file a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
UPDATE: When you try to work with them in an attempt to resolve the issues in a business like manner, they cancel your account and put you on the MATCH list. This speaks VOLUMES about how little this company values their clients' success and how MUCH the relationship is all about profiting from your money. We are exploring all legal options available to us. Company's like this should not be allowed to exist.
