KiwiSubs is a New Zealand marketplace for splitting the cost of subscription plans. Plenty of services sell plans built for several people at once. Spotify's Family plan covers up to six. Most households never fill all the seats, so the person paying carries the full cost while seats sit empty. KiwiSubs connects people who have spare seats with people who want one, and handles the recurring payments so nobody has to chase anyone for money each month. A joiner pays $8.99 a month for a Spotify Premium Family seat, which is less than half the price of an individual plan. Hosts pay nothing to list and receive a share of the plan cost for every seat filled. Every host verifies their identity before they can list a plan or receive a payout. Payments are processed by Stripe, so KiwiSubs never sees or stores card details. Members are added through the subscription service's own invite system, never by sharing a password, and joiners can request a refund if access is not delivered or stops working. KiwiSubs currently supports Spotify Premium Family, with more services planned. It is run from New Zealand at kiwisubs.nz.
