DO NOT USE KINGSLEY SHIPPING !!!!!
I have used Kingsley Shipping for several years and have remained a loyal customer, even though I have noticed the quality of service declining over time.
At the end of April/beginning of May, I used their barrel shipping service. The barrel was originally expected to arrive before the end of May. I later received a message stating that the shipment had been delayed until 10 June due to bad weather, which I understood and accepted.
However, 10 June came and passed with no update. I had to contact the company myself to find out what was happening and was then informed that the delivery had been delayed again until 20 June, although I was told the ship was expected to arrive on 18 June.
As a result of these delays, I incurred additional costs. My mother had travelled to Jamaica to collect the barrel, and I had to pay for extra accommodation and change her return flight to the UK because the shipment had still not arrived.
On Tuesday, 23 June at approximately 10:40 a.m., I contacted Kingsley Shipping again to find out whether the barrels were ready for collection. I was told that I would need to contact Kingsley Shipping Jamaica directly at the port to obtain this information. I expressed my frustration that customers are required to repeatedly call different offices just to get updates on their shipments.
The representative then asked for my billing number. Unfortunately, I did not have it available at the time, but I provided the shipment dates and the repeatedly revised delivery dates. She continued to insist on the billing number and then became hostile and rude, raising her voice and stating that the shipping delays were not the company’s fault because they were not responsible for operating the ships.
While I understand that weather and shipping schedules can be outside a company’s control, Kingsley Shipping is the company that sold me the service and accepted my payment. Therefore, it is entirely reasonable for customers to expect accurate information, clear communication, and professional customer service when seeking updates.
The repeated delays, lack of proactive communication, and poor customer service have left me extremely disappointed. My experience during this shipment has been unacceptable, particularly the way I was spoken to when trying to obtain information.
After this experience, I will not be using Kingsley Shipping again. I will also be sharing my experience with friends, family, and members of the Jamaican and wider Caribbean community so they can make informed decisions before using this company.
The overall service, communication, and customer support have been extremely poor, and I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.
