Service charge scam.

They switched my checking account without my concent and started charging 9.95 per month. They said they would refund then didnt. Made it very hard to close. I haveave a couple hours logged on phone calls. Criminal. Should be a class action lawsuit. Never again.

Behind the times.

I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with Kinecta Credit Union that I feel compelled to share. My father passed away, leaving me as both a beneficiary and the executor of his estate. I was tasked with handling his taxes and tying up loose ends, which included dealing with his accounts at Kinecta. What should have been a straightforward process turned into a month-long ordeal with no resolution in sight.
I provided all the required documentation—everything they asked for—and yet, despite my repeated attempts to follow up, I got nowhere. To make matters worse, the previous advocate I spoke with assured me she had sent the information along, but it apparently never made it through their system. The lack of responsiveness, accountability, and efficiency was astounding. For comparison, I have accounts with four other banking institutions, and each of them managed to handle similar requests in less than a day. Kinecta’s inability to resolve this matter in a timely manner added unnecessary stress to an already difficult situation.
If you’re looking for a financial institution that values your time and can handle basic estate matters competently, I’d strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Kinecta Credit Union has been a massive disappointment.

STAY AWAY

STAY AWAY! BE WARNED!

Horrible customer service over and over again. Their employees appear to be poorly trained across the board, but especially phone customer service.

They constantly make mistakes or give you wrong information - I even had a representative forget to mail me critical documents for a loan - I waited over two months and finally called about it to get them sent - this error cost me about $20,000 in potential profit from a business opportunity that I missed because of his negligence.

When you call the branch, they don't answer 90% of the time, nor return messages, and when you call the general number you'll be on hold for about 40 minutes on average.

I DO NOT feel safe with my money in this bank and am in the process of switching banks.

By the way, they just recently forced people in to a type of account that charges a monthly fee for extra services. I got a notice in the mail about it about the change even though I NEVER CONSENTED TO IT!
So if you don't call and cancel it, they start charging you $9.95 per month.
That can't be legal.
It's a scam.
I'm currently on hold to cancel it while I'm writing this, and it's been 45 minutes and counting...

Stay far away from this company!

Thinking that a being a longtime member would possibly make it a little easier to obtain a loan, we started the process for a Heloc loan. The loan amount was about half the worth of our home. From the beginning, we were required to supply a copy of almost every document that we have. We were on the phone and computer supplying sensitive information for hours and days. We were scrutinized above and beyond what we considered humanly possible, almost to the point of harassment for over one month. We sent in information that had a different computer generated number on page two and because it didn’t match page one, we had to resubmit the entire form!
It took almost two months for this process to be completed.
Now that we have completely paid off the loan, we have waited close to a month to have Kinecta’s two liens removed from our home. We called and were informed that they review liens once a month. So here we go again- two months yet again!
I would never use their services again nor would I ever recommend their services to anyone else!

Terrible bank

Terrible bank. Wrong information on the website all the time. Have had incidences where I know my account is negative, but it shows as a positive on the website. Identity theft not fully investigated. Tons of important issues regarding it ignored. No way to talk to investigations not even in person but then won't talk to you by email or over the phone either. Unless they call you. Their website was marking the human verification for me. Gee wonder how frauders got into my accout when I have reported that there was a bot issue to Microsoft and their website is just letting them in. Now tons of things are restricted on my account. First wouldn't let me in the website but wouldn't send me statements either because I have to make the changes on the website I don't have access to. No email notifications for alerts even though I can't read my phone screen most of the time they are only allowing text. Not right. Terrible Terrible bank. Nothing but problems for 2 years. I sure hope it's worth the rates when I buy a home or need a lone but so far is a disaster. I am being punished for being frauded. Like the stress of that isn't enough. Constant issue of I'm restricted so I can't but that's how it needs to be done. So essentially I am testing their system for free and showing them the errors of their system for

Kinecta locked my account / funds

I opened my Kinecta account on 5/24/2024 with Mr. Timothy Ostrander through Zoom. After the Zoom session, I created my online profile and transferred $5020 from my external account to fund the account. The next day, 5/25/24, I was unable to log into my account because it was locked. I contacted Kinecta / Mr. Ostrander and was told to provide statements from my external account that the funds came from. Even though I verified the external account through Plaid. As of June 12th, my account is still locked. My direct deposit from my employer was rejected and I can't access my funds.

Think twice before using Kinecta

Think twice before using Kinecta. I had an auto loan and was never able to set up a customer portal online - I always got an error. Then if I had to pay by phone because of it they charged an extra $10 per payment. When I paid off my loan 5 months early and simply wanted verification there was a 0 balance the rep kept asking me all kinds of security questions and when I didn't know an old phone number I was told I could not get any account info and would need to go into a branch. WORST customer service. Go somewhere else.
