Booked Little Bees for my daughter’s 4th Birthday. Yasmin and the others went above and beyond to help give her the best celebration! They really went the extra mile and everyone had a great time,

The best soft play and the best staff!!

We went to little bees to celebrate my sons 2nd birthday we were taking party bags and a cake but we had only booked for a normal play session as we didn’t have enough coming to book a party. However when we got there we received such a lovely surprise from Leanne,Yasmin and Laura who told us they would provide us with a party!!! I couldn’t believe it! This was the best surprise and really made our day! They could not have done more for us and nothing was to much trouble! They pulled tables together for us whilst they also set up a separate enclosed area where the laid out everything ready to celebrate my sons birthday 💕 they even brought his birthday cake out and sang happy birthday to him! I hounestly can’t thank them enough for everything they did! They just went out of there way to make his day as special as could be! And to say they did all this unplanned was just incredible! We always enjoy our visits and my son always has the best time but they just made his birthday party so so special! What was a lovely act of kindness from them has created special memories for me and my family that we will cherish for ever! The soft play is the best and the staff are second to none! Highly recommend!!

"Recently had a disturbing experience at Kidzplay when I found a spider in my food. The staff's response was completely unacceptable - no apology, no concern for our health and safety, and a paltry £10 refund. When I asked to speak to a manager, I was met with rudeness and told to leave the premises. It's clear that Kidzplay needs to work on taking customer complaints seriously and providing better training for staff on handling issues. Until then, I'd advise others to think twice before dining here."

Kidzplay Harrogate

We went on Saturday and the staff were rude and there was a hoover in the middle of the play area where kids can ride the little ride on toys. It was practically empty but it was still dirty and 1 of the ladies toilets was leaking.

Avoid

My son, who has coeliac disease, was served chicken nuggets that contained wheat despite being assured they were gluten-free. He had already eaten a portion when a staff member came over to apologise and remove the meal, admitting they had mistakenly served regular (non-gluten-free) nuggets.

After the incident, I raised this directly with Lisa, the owner, but the service since then has been appalling. I understand the business is being sold this week, but that does not excuse the lack of accountability. I’ve asked for the new owner’s contact details repeatedly to inform them they may be taking on an active legal case, but I’ve been ignored.

Due to the lack of communication and serious nature of the incident, a formal legal case has now been submitted and I feel the new owner should be made aware of this.

I recently visited Kidzplay & Little…

I recently visited Kidzplay & Little Bees through kidzplay. It has a spacious play area, good for kids over 3, and the staff were mostly helpful. While it could use a deeper clean at busy times and some improvement in party hosting, overall, it provides decent value for active kids. 4 stars.

All a bit bleak really

All a bit bleak really, unfortunately! Staff at reception quite abrupt- although in their defence they seemed understaffed. Was informed at check in (we’d prebooked online) that chef hadn’t arrived yet and they weren’t sure if they would so there might not be food. The actual soft play space is quite small; but was super cold. Even with running around and to keep hoodies on the kids. The role play area widely pictured on the website was closed and staff seemed reluctant to open it - and grumbled something about not sure if it has been tidied since last night. There is an additional charge for this (c£3 in addition to the c£10 entry charge) that room also super cold and another customer asked a member of staff to turn up temperature at which point they switched a very small wall heater on- nowhere near big enough to heat the room.
Overall a bit grimy and expensive for what it was.

Needs urgent attention

We recently visited Kidzplay Harrogate, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. The level of cleanliness was shocking – sticky surfaces, dirty plates and cups left piled up on tables and near the so-called ‘clean’ cutlery area. The toilets were just as bad, with a strong smell, wet floors, overflowing bins, and no soap in the dispensers – only alcohol foam, which is unacceptable for a children’s facility.

The food was also subpar. The chips were lukewarm, and the vegetables were clearly overcooked and reheated in the microwave. Given the price, I would have expected much better quality.

The place was severely understaffed, with only 3 employees trying to manage a full venue, two birthday parties, and all other booked tables. Two of the staff members were very young and inexperienced - polite, but completely overwhelmed. When we arrived, I mentioned our reservation, and the staff member just stared at me, looking completely lost.

It’s such a shame because this is now the only soft play in Harrogate (excluding World of Their Own which on their own superior level by far) and it desperately needs investment. We’ve hosted two birthday parties here in the past 4 years, and each time, the standard has dropped.

Unfortunately, this visit was the worst yet, and it left me feeling both sad and frustrated. To top it off, the entry price has now increased to £9.95 for over 2s, which feels completely unjustified given the poor experience.

Allegedly a halloween party

The "trick or treat stations" were a total rip-off at £3.00 each, especially with tickets costing £12.00 per child. They promised Halloween-themed games, but there were only two: a mummy-making station and slime—hardly enough to entertain the kids. Most of the children ended up just playing in the soft play area, which made the whole event feel pointless, as we paid for a halloween event, not a normal play session.

The bathrooms were incredibly smelly and dirty. The sinks were blocked, there was no toilet paper, and they even used toilet paper for the mummy-making instead of providing it for the bathrooms! How ridiculous is that? It really makes you question where their priorities lie. What used to be a fantastic destination for play and leisure has become a disgraceful money-grabbing operation.

With such high ticket prices and additional service charges, I expected at least some free treats, but there were none. The staff were moody and unhelpful, and face painting cost an extra £2.00, with only a couple of kids taking part. While I understand they are a business, it felt like they cared more about profit than providing a fun experience for families who have already spent a lot.

Please, don’t send your children here. You will be deeply disappointed. Spend your money during these important celebrations somewhere that actually delivers on its promises. The website may lure you in with false advertising, but the reality is far from what they claim.

Halloween Party, really?

The "trick or treat stations" were a total rip-off at £3.00 each, especially since tickets for the event were already £12.00 per child. They promised Halloween-themed games, but there were only two: a mummy-making station and slime—hardly enough to keep the kids entertained. Most of the children just ended up playing in the soft play area, which felt pointless since we could have gone there without the Halloween theme.

Given the high prices and extra service charges, I expected at least some free treats, but there were none. The staff seemed moody and unhelpful, and to top it off, face painting was an additional £2.00, yet only a couple of kids had it done. While I understand that they are a business, it felt like they were prioritizing profit over providing a fun experience for families who have already spent a lot. I've attended much better Halloween events, and this one was definitely the worst. I wouldn't recommend sending your child here next year unless you want them to just dress up and play in the soft play area.

Care little for their own staff, let alone your little one

Two emails sent, waited two weeks for a response:

We held our son’s birthday party at KidzPlay Shipley today. Disappointing is probably the way to sum it up. We were left apologising to the parents of our guests and thanking them for their patience.

I need to be clear that the majority of your staff are absolutely amazing! Pluto, Lexi and Elise are three names given to me. The lady in the green leggings, the cook in the yellow t-shirt and the girl behind the counter were all absolutely phenomenal too.

However:

* Chaos to get in - if you can’t manage three parties arriving at the same time, don’t book three parties to arrive at the same time
* We booked Laser Zone; there weren’t enough working guns. Two children had to go without.
* Sitting for ages at the table. With nothing to do. With 15 bored six and seven year olds.

My wife and I have been talking and the genuine feeling we have is that the company is run on greed. Getting as many in as possible without any thought to how it would work. £3.30 for a small bottle of pop.

And the worst bit for me is the pressure that staff were under. It just wasn’t fair. They were an absolute asset to you today and they’ve been let down.

I don’t like posting negative reviews on social media without feeding back privately first. I look forward to hearing your response on today’s situation and what you are going to do to make things better for those poor staff.

Hi we visited today and I’m not…

Hi we visited today and I’m not normally one to complain but I do have to say that it was a very disappointing visit.
The place has quite frankly gone down the pan, however the staff member who greeted us upon arrival was lovely and tried to accommodate as much as she could.
Now to the things that was wrong
1. The place was freezing and I mean freezing, people including staff were sat with there hoods up and coats on. My 1 year olf was that cold her nose was running. When asked if the heating could be turned on we were told it was on and she was freezing too.
2. The cups that the drinks came in looked rinsed and not washed. When asked if 1 of them could be changed we were looked at like this was a great big inconvenience.
3. The toddler play area and baby sensory area most of the things don’t work. Yet you’re still charging full price for a child.
4. When ordering our drinks and food the hot food came before the drinks may I add the place was dead.
5. It’s also quite worrying at how dirty the place is, the cabinet where the cakes are stored is filthy and needs a good old clean this straight away lost you money as we came to eat there but looking at how dirty it was we soon changed our mind and only ordered a portion of chips to put the kids on till we left to grab food elsewhere.

Went to a party today and the kids…

Went to a party today and the kids enjoyed the play area but the staff was rude and unhelpful. Supposed to have a party host she was absent majority of the time, brought cake out before food lit it at the table. Food came late and the tea and coffees which had been paid for we never received only a jug of milk. The kids received a slush as party ending so they all got wasted and i had to eat a meal on my knee as a manager came over and told me to move from a table that wasnt been used and an adult cannot fit on the party tables and no cutlery was available so had to wait and ask. All in all price isn't worth the money you could get good service and a good play area at other venues.

A fun morning

My granddaughter and I had a lovely time. Staff are very helpful and happy to make your visit there a good one. We didn't eat this time but have in the past and really enjoyed it.
